I love dry shampoo, I find it such an essential product for freshening up my hair, especially while travelling when I'm short on time. I was really pleased when I saw Batiste Dry Shampoo had came out with a version specifically for brunettes as so many dry shampoos have the downside of giving you visible white residue.
The aerosol spray can holds a lot of product and this lasted me quite awhile. The nozzle delivers a good amount and doesn't catch or stick when using. I like to use this by tipping my head upside down and being careful to direct it through my roots, using my hands to rub it in and pop my hair back into place. Not only will it take your hair from looking flat and limp or oily looking and leave it looking clean and refreshed, it's good for giving clean hair volume or texture needed for curling or up-dos.
This is such an essential hair product for me and the fact that as a brunette I don't need to worry about looking like I've developed grey patches has me continuing to repurchase this. Necessity for brunettes, although the blondes may be better off with another variant.
I bought the Brunette version after being fed up with the white powder left behind on my hair with the standard Batiste dry shampoo. You can easily toussle or massage your hair to get rid of it but if you have dark hair you need to make sure it's all gone which is annoying when you're in a rush.
I enjoyed the Brunette version because there was only a faint ashy residue left behind which didn't require too much toussling to remove. It had a light warm scent (vanilla which I hate but bearable) which wasn't overpowering and helped keep my hair fresh. However there were 2 key things that I disliked about the product and are the main reasons why I didn't finish it and why I won't repurchase.
Product residue - I just wanted my hair to feel clean however whenever I used it I felt like I had a heap of hair products in my hair (day old mousse / gel etc). I don't put a lot of products in my hair because I hate that feeling. I prefer how the original feels in my hair it's lightweight as opposed to this one.
Tint - This is what drove me up the wall. It's designed for brunette for a reason because it sprays out brown powder. Argggh. I wouldn't have minded too much but it gets everywhere (it's a spray after all) and you can easily clean it off but if I'm rushing out the door?!
I think the product is good for styling because it feels like texturising powder but that's not why I purchased it for! I really wished this had worked for me but after a month of trialling I was done.
