Well this was really better than I was expecting! Very impressive tool to do your roots in this box and the colour was pretty true to what was on the box. The hair wasn't killed it was nice and not too dry, much prefer this than bleach and only issue I had is jot enough of the product to do all my roots sadly. Will buy again but 2 boxes

Tips: Buy 2 boxes to ensure you can color your roots all over
Thank you Beauty Review for this trial, it came at just the right time. I have never used a root touch up product before so I was looking forward to seeing how it went. This is a super easy colour to use, you mix two products in the bowl which is provided with the brush which is also provided and you are away! All you do is apply it to where you need coverage and leave it for 10 minutes, then wash your hair. The colour I got was medium brown which suited my hair perfectly. I really loved the result, all those grays covered and the colour blended perfectly. The only thing I really did notice was the smell of ammonia, it was not bad but noticeable. I will definitely use this product again, the result was great.
I went to Farmers to see what the Clairol root touch up was worth, and for $19-$20 a packet was quite cost effective if used every 6 weeks to extend your colour. The packaging is light and different pictures on each colour so that is was easy to find the one that I was sent. The colour matched well with no colour differences when I had completed the process. I have been getting more greys over the few years and it covered them well. The application was easy as the wee container was just the right size to mix, thick enough to spread but not too think to drip everywhere. I completed this process easily on myself without the need of help. It covered my head well so one packet was enough. The smell was normal to other dyes as they all have that chemical smell. It was no worse or any better than others I have used. Will not be able to give a longevity result at this stage, but might see if I can add to the review in a couple of weeks to update on that. It was easy to apply and the brush covered the area well, and only 10 min is not long so the chemicals must be strong. I do recommend this to others, it also left my hair soft and manageable.
Tips: Use gloves but it does wash off but stains immediately.
I have a few greys, luckily not too many but they’re noticeable. Because my hair is dark, they were very noticeable. This product was able to cover them up perfectly. I got my daughter to help me apply the product and I kept it on for just 10 minutes.
It didn’t make my hair look or feel dry. It was still shiny after being coloured. It blended nicely with my hair’s natural colour which is an absolute bonus.
I would definitely use this again. It was just enough to cover all my roots and because it only requires a 10 minute, it was perfect for my busy life.
I recommend using it if you’re looking to hide those little greys that are starting to poke through.
Tips: It can sting the eyes a little when you open it, so just be careful if you a have a sensitivity.
Box contained very nice applicator, designed to turn easily between fingers to make parts on one end and spin to use applicator brush on other end. Gloves provided were good - slightly softer and less crispy than some are. Product mixed quickly and easily in the plastic container provided.
Application process was straightforward, thanks to the good brush and I left it on for the recommended 10mins. Colour blended well with my existing shade, tho a little darker than I expected.
Coverage of grey was okay initially but seemed to come out a bit in the first few washes, so not sure yet how well it will hold up.
Tips: Very practical and easy solution for touch-up, but I wouldn't say it completely wowed me. But for a quick fix, definitely does the job.
Grey hairs and regrowth are the bane of my life! I liken them to bills, they just keep returning no matter how hard you try to get rid of them. I hate having to use a whole box of dye to cover my grey roots so have taken to halving a box which is a bit of a palaver and I never get the same colour creme-to-toner ratio. So, I can honestly say I was excited to try this new Permanent Touch up.
One thing I did notice was the size of the box, exactly the same as a regular hair dye. I would have thought making it half the size (and therefore getting more on the shelf) may have been a good selling point. When I opened the box, the contents could definitely have fit inside a smaller box.
Anyway, mixing the lotion and creme was very easy in the bowl, and applying the dye with the expert control brush was an easy and simple process that allowed me to cover the roots without making a huge mess (usually I find the squirty bottles tend to spatter a little). After 10 minutes I rinsed my hair out and voila, all the greys had gone and when dry, was the same colour as the rest of my hair.
I was really impressed with this kit as it is quick and easy to use and you don't have to wait ages for it to work. I'm totally converted and will definitely be using again.
I used the Dark Brown shade after 6 weeks from colouring my hair. The colour match on my roots was perfect and completely hid all my greys along the central part. It is such a simple product to use and I even skipped the gloves and there was no mess at all. I have used root concealer spray and hair colour mascara before but that only lasts a few days. Clairol Nice N Easy Root Touch Up lasts 3 weeks!! I will definitely purchase again.
Tips: You don’t need to use the whole contents all at once. I mixed half of the activating lotion and colour cream and had a good amount. So I can save the other half for later.
Don't know why I haven't tried this sooner!
I trialled the medium brown shade which blended in with the rest of my coloured hair. I have quite a sprinkling of grey around my hairline and of course where it parts. The brush was easy to use and the mixture thicker than what I usually use so it wasn't a messy application. You can apply concentrating on the grey regrowth and just quickly brushing the remainder that doesn't need it as much which was fast, or you can be precise. Either way it blends in well and you cannot tell it was just the regrowth.
The aroma isn't too strong like some other colours can be. This is for quick touch ups in between colours as there is only enough product for a regrowth application.
Will I use this again? Most definitely :-)
Tips: As this doesn't contain a conditioner have a hydrating/nourishing one ready to use.
I was excited to try this product as I usually just colour my entire head when actually only the roots need doing. This product means I don't have to damage the lengths of my hair by over exposing them to unnecessary dye. Also, the ten minute time frame is a big plus!
This product does have quite a pungeant ammonia scent and my scalp tingled a bit, but that's pretty standard I reckon.
It comes with an applicator brush and mixing tray. I quite liked the brush - it let's you put the dye exactly where it's needed and you can avoid making a mess. The tray was really tricky though - it's a bit flimsy and hard to mix the dye in and it's hard to hold. I prefer a bottle applicator.
The dye itself blended well into my previous colour (which was a Revlon product) - I was worried there would be a line of colour difference. It also seemed to cover my few first greys quite effectively.
Tips: Take care with the mixing tray - it would be easy to have it slip out of your hand and make a big mess!
First of all I am glad the colour matched my colour. The product does what it says it would with covering greys , and the instructions were easy to follow. The brush in the kit wasn’t the most easy to use unfortunately. I would get this again if it was more significantly cheaper than regular hair dye.
Tips: Use in combination with comb to part the hair to ensure you don’t miss any areas.
