This shampoo comes in a pump, i'm not sure why as the matching conditioner doesn't come with the same pump. I found i had to use at least four or five pumps to get enough product to use. It is a deep purple colour and smells quite odd, i see from the packaging that it is based around violet leaf extract. The smell was a bit offputting for me, but i did get used to it. It doesn't lather up either which i found a bit unusual, but it does say it is low foam. It did cleanse and tone nicely, and left my hair quite shiny and soft. However i have really oily roots and i found i needed to wash it daily when i used this . I thought it might be the matching conditioner, but i tried the shampoo without the conditioner and i still had the oily scalp problem. It also really stings your eyes if it happens to drip in your eyes, but i noticed it didn't leave them red and sore afterward , which was good. So altogether it wasn't the best for me as the product was a bit too moisturising , and left my hair a bit oily . Most blonde shampoos are quite drying, but this went to the other extreme and was too heavy for my fine blonde hair.

Tips: Don't get it in your eyes, it stings!
I received this from a Beauty Vault. I lighten my hair and I prefer it to look white/beige blonde rather than golden, as it suits my cool-toned complexion better. I have experimented with different purple and blue shampoos in order to tone my hair.
Essano’s purple shampoo comes in a 300ml black, opaque pump bottle with a purple label. The bottle is made from 100% recycled material, and the formula is 100% free from parabens, PEGs, and sulphates.
The product is easy to dispense from the pump. It comes out a very dark purple colour, almost like a dye, and is quite runny. The problem I have had with this is that it stains things. Even if I am careful, I still get blobs on the white walls of the shower, and if Idon’t see them right away to wipe them away then they leave a purple mark. It also stains my hands. I am very pale and this shampoo temporarily colours around my nails with a purple tinge after hair washing. It does not wash away until the end of the next day.
The shampoo lathers well, but it is a bit drying on my hair. It rinses out fine, and my hair does look whiter and brighter afterwards.
Altogether this shampoo is okay, and does the job, but it is not the best blue or purple toning shampoo that I have used. Others are less drying on my hair, and do not stain my skin or the bathroom.
Tips: Combine it with a non-toning shampoo to mitigate the dryness of the formula.
I have used this while I was blonde, but I was not that happy with it. My hair was always so tough, like a rope. And never foamed at all.
Tips: Not worth the money
Hi beauties, I used this on my daughters hair, had started to go a lot golden on the mid length and ends of her hair, so using this every twice a week for two weeks and gradually take it down to once a week, then left it, turned out really nice and not to dry, and feeling stripped x
Tips: I recommend using the blonde conditioner too, it helps to seal it your hair off, so damaged is caused from the elements x
I purchased this after running out of salon purple shampoo. Its 'okay' but certainly it isn't as good as other brands I have used or have since used. As such, whilst okay, I wouldn't buy again. Having spent that much money on going blonde I've chosen to go with a dedicated purple shampoo/conditioner.
Tips: to use, leave in for 20-30 minutes to ensure shampoo activates and to get best result.
Essanno always deliver great products. This duo is one if them. Left my hair soft and shiny and smelling sweetly. The shampoo doesnt lather much, but that is what you would expect from a natural based product. Left my hair feeling very clean tho. Only thing is it doesnt tone as much as a regular salon purple shampoo. I was hoping it would, but it is a natural based toner, so we cant expect miracles! I would use it again tho. I'm trying to let my hair recover from all the bleaching, and this seemed to help.
Tips: Maybe leave the shampoo in for a bit longer than expected. Let it really get in there and work its magic.
Comes in a pump bottle which is handy! Dark purple colour. Smells amazing! Does not quite lather up as much as a product like the Fudge shampoo and leaves the hair feeling very porous. Following this with the purple conditioner fixes it.
Tips: Leave on for a bit does not grab quickly as some other products
This one I purchased from the beauty vault a while back. Although I like this brand of beauty because it's NZ made and a certified organic I am not sure if I will re buy this in a hurry it's not a bad product it just is very drying and made my hair feel crunchy like other reviewers have said. I didn't leave it in very long. In terms of making your hair less brassy and getting rid of the yellow yes it performs well. This is cheaper than fudge and it gets more points for the bottle as is proudly made from rPET, 100% pre-used, recycled material that’s also still recyclable the formula is 100% free from parabens, PEGs, and sulphates. Great for those who care about that sort of thing and want to do their bit for the environment. It smells okay for a purple toning shampoo but isn't my favourite the Loreal one I purchased at the same time smells amazing though it's not kind to the environment or animals nor a 100% free from parabens, PEGs, and sulphate formula. 300ml is okay for the price in comparison to other purple shampoos and the pigment is rich it's a nice dark purple not very thick in consistency it laters okay for a sulfate free shampoo. The bottle isn't ideal for travel as it is difficult to close the pump bottles. I recommend using when your hair is feeling oily as I don't see how this one hydrates. All in all good but not exceeding expectations
I have used this in between my more expensive salon shampoo. I find the purple strong. It stains any dry patches on my hands. It lathers well and I love that it is at the supermarket and a gentle product. I will keep buying this to supplement my other shampoo.
The smell of the shampoo was OK, but the conditioner smelt like burnt plastic! However the smell didn't remain in the hair once washed out. It claims to be a low foam shampoo, but I found it very foamy. The conditioner was really easy to comb through, which is what I tend to find most difficult if conditioner isn't up to scratch. I love the environmentally friendly aspect of the bottles and contents, and the pump bottle makes it very easy to dispense. The product isn't bad, but my hair was a bit frizzy once dry. Colour wise, it did appear to brighten the blonde a bit but not a lot of brassiness removed - in fact I think I look more ginger than ever! I would possibly use again though, especially for the RRP!
