Not As Good As I Had Thought

I received this product in the BBBE You Won't Believe It's Hair box and have been using it for almost 3 months. I have used a couple of Essano products now and had high expectations for this product.

Like the rest of the Essano brand the packaging is a gorgeous rose pink. The smell is beautiful like a bouquet of flowers. I like the smell and don't find it overpowering.

Results: I found it just okay. This shampoo was no where near as hydrating as I expected it to be though I must say it is summer and probably didn't help. I wonder if this would have been better to use in a different season. My hair is slightly softer, just not as soft or smooth as a previous shampoo of a different brand I was using before trying this one. I also had a bit of a reaction to this shampoo, which is unusal as I know I have used another Essano Shampoo in the past and had no reaction to it.

All in all though I won't be repurchasing this.

Tips: Does not lather very well, I found applying product to wet hair, then running water over hair for a couple of seconds enabled a really good lather.

Fell Out Of Love

I used to love how clean this shampoo made my hair feel HOWEVER I have found that it was the cause of my hair becoming super frizzy/dry.

I have pin straight hair that sometime tends to get oily and I was trying to stick to a sulphate free shampoo but honestly my hair was always super stringy and flat.

Since stopping use of the product my hair has returned to a glossier healthy finish.

For the price point you are better off with something else.

Left my hair dry and limp

Usually I go on first two times of using a product before I make a judgement and this product, After second time was the same result. Dry and limp hair, maybe it doesn’t cater to my hair type? Thick and wavy, mid length hair?

Tips: Some things work and something’s dont, this shampoo smells great but that’s about it for me.

On the fence

I'm not sure about this shampoo - it's okay.

I like the colour of the packaging, and I like the idea of a coconut milk hydrating shampoo (my lengths are rather dry and I'm prone to frizz so hydration's a good thing)... but it just doesn't do it for me.

The scent reminds me of baby sick and I don't find my hair any more hydrated. It does clean it though, which is why I don't dislike it - I just wouldn't reach for it.

It has become the shampoo I keep for when I run out of shampoo and have forgotten to buy some in the groceries.

Would I recommend it? Not so much. It's not the worst, but it's not a wow, especially when considering the price.

Not bad, but no wow factor either...

I like the Essano brand as it’s natural and cruelty-free, and I’ve bought some pretty decent products of theirs in the past, so I thought I’d give this one a go too. I also like products that contain coconut oil, which is known for its hydrating benefits, so that was another draw card for me.

Firstly, I do quite like the way this shampoo is packaged with its big, flat lid - it’s easy to use in the shower and you don’t feel like you have to have a fight with the bottle to get the shampoo out! Lol.

This shampoo smells quite pleasant as well. It’s not too sickly sweet like some coconut oil-containing products can be. It’s not overpowering in any way, it just smells nice, plant-based and natural. The consistency is about right too - not too runny and not too thick.

However, I have to agree with some of the other comments here in that this shampoo just doesn’t offer much of a wow factor or any outstanding benefits. It’s natural, gentle and non-irritating, yes, but does it leave your hair feeling healthier and more hydrated? No. It actually leaves my hair feeling a bit drier and lanker, and for some reason I also end up feeling like I need to wash it more frequently than I usually do.

So I’m just not sold on this shampoo unfortunately. Yes, it’s gentle and non-irritating, but it only provides average to below-average results so it doesn’t make me want to rush out and buy it again.

Essano are headed in the right direction with this product though. They maybe just need to sit down and work out how they can improve on the formula a bit so that it does what it claims it can do and hydrates the hair more effectively.

Super soft hair

This shampoo is lovely, it made my hair super soft but didn't really wow my hair. I absolutely loved the smell of it and is worth just using for the smell. Seems to be quite nice for an everyday shampoo.

Not so hydrating

I usually love any and all Essano products and think the brand is usually excellent value for money. However, this one is an exception: this is not in the low-price range for shampoo and I'd expect a lot better for the cost. It's a lovely pink bottle and I do love the design and smell. But it just does not leave my hair in good health: I notice it's MUCH frizzier after using this (with the conditioner). Even my daughter's healthy, thick hair goes quite frizzy after using this. Perhaps it just doesn't agree with our hair, which is a pity.

Not their best work but not bad

I picked up a bottle of this to try as i really like Essano's face and body ranges.

This shampoo, which comes in a sturdy pop top bottle, isn't terrible - but its not as hydrating as I had hoped.

My hair is dried out by this shampoo - not terribly, but enough to mean I can't use it every wash.

It smells lovely, and I love the shimmery, almost pearlescent look of the formula, but can't confirm that it hydrates my hair.

I'll use this bottle, but probably not replace it

Tips: Definitely give it a go if your hair is healthier than mine, or washed less frequently.

Use the leave in conditioner as well as your normal one n conjunction with this to up the hydration factor.

Coconut shampoo

I received this in Beauty Review’s original “You won’t believe it is hair” box, which has since sold out. I have been using it for about 4 months.

The shampoo comes in Essano’s traditional rose-pink packaging. The lid is black, and “Coconut” is written in silver around the bottom. The bottle contains 300ml. The product is free from sulphates, parabens, and animal testing, in addition to other chemicals. The product itself is white with a pearly sheen.

One palmful of the shampoo is enough to clean my shoulder-length hair. The product is mildly scented, and smells like coconut, but is not overpowering. My hair feels nice and soft after using this, however, it does not feel especially moisturised. I have very dry hair, so I guess it would take quite a powerful shampoo to inject it with some moisture. My hair is very fine and flat as well, and this shampoo allows it to retain some volume after washing.

There are a couple of drawbacks with this shampoo: I found it hard to work into a lather, and that is probably because it is sulphate free. The other problem is the design of the lid. It has a big, flat lid, which is great for standing the bottle on its head when the product is getting low. However, the bottle has a very small nozzle, which makes it difficult to squeeze the shampoo out in the first place.

Altogether, this is a decent shampoo that is a good option if you are looking for a natural, cruelty free and affordable shampoo.

Coconut crazy

I’m all for anything coconut at the moment and the smell of this is delish I’m loving the coconut and pawpaw scent.

I really liked the pretty pink bottles i found a lot nicer then the usual shape bottles. The round seemed to fit the hand better.

I found the white shampoo made my hair feel amazing while it was in but as soon as it was rinsed out it felt dry and straw like the condition may have helped improve it. As once it was dried it felt a lot nicer.

The more I have used this product the less results I noticed. I like the scent and it makes a great body wash.
