so recently I decided to get an ombre blonde look done to my hair and this is what my hairdresser recommended to keep it from going brassy :). the shampoo itself is easy to spread and goes far (two squirts does my hair), its Cadbury purple, and I leave it in for 5mins per time and wash my hair with it once a week. my blonde still looks great almost a month on and this is the only toning product I've honestly used- didn't even need its matching conditioner so for me its very cost effective although I paid $30.00 not $19.95 so the price has been bucked up. it didn't stain my hair at all and that's about it :) highly recommend it.

I have been using Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Toning Shampoo for around 3 years now and I love it. It does what it says and it is lovely to use. I use it once every week and a half - 2 weeks to take any yellowness/brassiness out of my hair. It tones it and really does make it a 'Clean Blonde'. It smells amazing and I think it is well worth the money. The bottles lasts me 6-8 months.
Tips: Don't over-do it otherwise your hair can start to look silver. Also, if you leave it in too long your hair becomes stained purple, but it will come out, just wash with your regular shampoo and it will take it out.
Ive been a bottle blonde for most of my life and my hair pulls a lot of orange when dyed. If the hairdresser dosen't tone enough I can always count on this to tone my hair perfectly. I also find freshening up between colours helps keep my hair bright and fresh
Tips: For some reason I find using a generous amount when my regrowth is hideous helps conceal it! Love using this to stretch out my appointments a few weeks
This is one product that will see you going to the hairdressers less, keep your blonde hair from going brassy in between visits and quite literally save you money. Every time I go back to being blonde, I make sure I am well stocked with this Shampoo. There were times when I could not afford to go back to a salon, or I just didn't have the time to and Thank the Heavens I had this. You only need the smallest amount and because I only wash my hair twice a week, my last bottle has lasted me about a year. As well as using to regularly wash my hair, I also used it as a toner by smothering my hair with it, and leaving it on until my hair reached the desired color. I literally know hairdressers who use this in salon's instead of using other toners. That is how good this product is.
Tips: Go and buy some, you wont regret it :)
I was little worried and hesitated using this shampoo after seeing how rich the purple was, but I'm glad followed through and used it! It did a really great job at keeping away the brassy tones. It does tend make your hair feel like one big clump after washing (I found with having blonde hair that that usually happened anyway) so I would defiantly recommend using the conditioner. I no longer have blonde hair and have managed to go back my natural colour so I used it every now and then as my hair tends to have auburn/brassy type tones which my hairdresser recommended.
I had used a lot of purple shampoos while blonde and this was by far my favourite! I didn't use it everyday just every other it lasted me quiet awhile. Defintely worth a try.
Tips: Don't leave it on too long just incase it does stain!
Must have for blondes! I was given this to try out as I have always had trouble with golden tones in my dyed blonde hair, I have tried supermarket stuff and it never did the trick. I now have a beautiful ashy blonde colour, YELLOWS BE GONE! This will be a forever must have as long as I have blonde hair. I am so impressed with it, it seems to be helping with my damaged hair also.
This has to be THE best violet shampoo I have used.
It's really strong, so you don't really need to leave it in for very long before it works it's magic. Watch out if you are really platinum blonde - your hair will turn purple super quick!
I found that I only need to use it about once or twice a week once I had reached the level of Ash I was after.
I also found it was better to wash my hair with normal shampoo first, as this doesn't foam up well as a first wash, especially if you have long hair.
Tips: Rinse it off the shower walls and curtain - it can stain easily!
I had high expectations for this violet shampoo after spending a bit of time researching other options and finally deciding on this one due to rave reviews.
The lengths of my hair were a sandy golden yellowy blonde prior to using this toning shampoo. This color the result of using the L'oreal ombre highlights kit twice first the kit for brown hair on my natural/ uncolored mousy brown hair, then I used the kit for blonde hair about two months later. What I was hoping to acheive with this shampoo was a more natural looking medium honey blonde and that's what I got.
The first thing I notice about this shampoo when I go to use for the first time is it's VERY violet! The color of it is so intensely rich it temporarily stains the palms of my hands, although the staining is lifted by the time i've handled cleanser and body wash.
I massage a generous amount of the shampoo through the lengths of my hair and leave for around 5 minutes before rinsing out, I don't use conditioner afterwards as I wanted to see how the product performs alone. I couldn't see any difference while my hair was still wet but once it had dried completely it was noticeably lighter but not in a really obvious way, most of that yellow tone had been removed and the color looked a lot more natural.
What really impressed me was the total lack of need for conditioner after washing with this shampoo!Usually if I don't use conditioner my hair is going to be a rough texture, frizzy and a damn nightmare to get a brush a through, not with this kick ass shampoo! This shampoo is highly conditioning for bleached hair making it soft & shiney, and I found I had better results using the shampoo alone as opposed to conditioning afterwards.
After 2-3 washes with this shampoo all of the yellow tone is gone I noticed improvement with every wash until washing for a 4th & 5th time (In a row), by this stage I think it had done the job it's supposed to do.
This is a very effective product, couldn't be happier with the job it did and I can see it becoming a good friend of mine over the coming months as I gradually lighten my hair further. Highly recommend this shampoo to any blonde, there is a matching violet conditioner to go with shampoo I'll probably pick up at some stage also.
Tips: Beware this shampoo is runny and comes out the tube quickly with very little pressure & make sure the cap is completely clean before you put it away, if it's not and you leave it sitting or your dresser, inside a cupboard etc. it's likely to leave a stain.
A little goes a long way with this product - it's a great toner and good value for money as it lasts so long. You don't need to use very much, and only once a week or even less frequently is usually enough to stop the brassy yellowy tones that plague blondes. I use it more frequently in summer to keep my colour nice despite all the sun and salt damage my hair in undergoing. This shampoo has a really pleasant smell too! I have also tried the L'oreal brand purple shampoo, but the Fudge brand is my favourite.
Tips: Don't leave on too long! I had a nasty experience of my hair turning grey when I first purchased this (it eventually went back to normal though!).
I have used quite a few different brands of purple shampoo, and as a hairdresser myself, find this to be the best one by far.
Sometimes, it can even be used on freshly bleached hair as a toner rather than applying another colour.
If it is used too much or left on a few minutes too long it can leave a bit of a purple hue behind which can easily be corrected by washing hair with a normal shampoo, but that aside, it definitely does its job well and at a reasonable price!
Tips: It is best to be used once a week and left on for no more than 5 minutes.
If hair looks a bit purpley after using, wash hair with a regular shampoo. Also, follow up use with a hydrating conditioner to prevent dryness.
