Fudge Clean Blonde Violet Toning Shampoo Review

Blondes do NOT have more fun! Whoever said that clearly wasn’t blonde! The maintenance is time consuming to say the least. Purple shampoos were ok, toners are overall pretty good but nothing would beat the toner at the salon. Then one day I switched hairdressers and she highly recommended this shampoo and thought it would keep my ashy blonde hair looking pretty tip top.

It comes in a 300ml squeeze tube which sits on its lid. That alone makes me love it, no product wastage! The tube is black and silver with a bright purple lid, it looks stylish and stands out.

The shampoo is a very dark vibrant purple I was almost scared to put it in my hair the first time I used it. It has a very mild scent, it almost smells kind of powdery floral. I wet my hair, wring out as much of the water as I can then apply about a tablespoon of the thick shampoo to my long hair. I let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing it out. And wow the foam this shampoo produces is quite insane It feels like it takes forever (thinking the shower is going to run out of hot water ages) afterwards my hair already feels slightly conditioned from the shampoo and doesn’t leave it feeling stripped like some blonde shampoos/toners can do.

After I condition with the matching conditioner I lightly towel dry my hair then take a sneak peak at it and my hair looks a perfect blonde and definitely over time my hair seems to look brighter and more ashy certainly no more unwanted brassy tones. It almost leaves it kind of purple which I do love BUT if you had more of a golden blonde and didn’t want the slight purple colour be very careful.

I first used this several times a week but now it’s only a once a week thing and it keeps my hair well maintained. (I don’t want it too purple) It is quite well priced too, a 300ml bottle costs about $19. I love this shampoo as it does leave your hair looking salon fresh all the time and it also leaves my hair feeling so soft and nourished at the same time so you can’t really lose. I will be repurchasing this for sure.

This purple shampoo is great for blonde or grey hair. I have used it a lot of times to get the yellowness out of my hair when I have been blonde. It is a deep purple colour so it does a really good job at getting rid of the brassy look and for its price its very affordable compared to other purple shampoo's.

my favourite! I'm a hairdresser! and i have never come across a Toning shampoo that does exactly what its supposed to like this one does! buy it by the litre! Sure it stains the crap out of my shower but who doesn't love a bit of purple in there life!

I generally use the Salon L'oreal silver shampoo but I was given a couple of generous sized sample tubes of these that soon became pretty handy!

After a botched bleaching job I was desperate to remove yellow tones. This product definitely helped tone the yellowing and helped get rid of unwanted color that had been put over the top.

The one thing I would say as with all purple shampoos is just to watch this product on your hair.. When you notice hair starting to go purple wash it off.. Unless you want to have a purple hue to your hair haha!

This product can be super drying so make sure you are using a decent treatment for your hair needs afterward!

After reading the reviews thought I would give this a go as I have a tendancy to turn a bit ginga when my hair needs a touch up color. Its fantastic great silky consistency and doesn't come spurting out. I used an ordinary conditioner and I'm really happy with the results. Think I can go a bit longer inbetween colors lol

This is a great product and has worked for me in the past, although recently i am having issues around yellow tone coming through my blonde foiled hair. I use this once a week, but might try leaving it in for longer, or maybe using it twice a week.

I love this product I use it at work on all our blonde clients. Even with the clients that just get a few blonde foils. It smells amazing and does really work.

LOVE IT, it is definitely my choice in toning shampoos as it does what it says it does without fail!

You even get a nice purple colour if you leave it in too long which i actually like :)

Super strong pigmentation, makes short work of my brassy ends. Reasonably priced and pretty easily found. Not a massive fan of the packaging, can get a bit messy but still one of my go to blonde care products.

Fudge Violet shampoo saved my hair when I went from jet black to blonde. After bleaching my hair a few times I desperately needed something to tone down the yellow and brassiness . A friend recommended this to me so I brought it straight away. The formula is thick and very violet/purple(so much so that it stained my hands!). It smells really nice for a toner and the results were amazing! It says to leave in for about 2-5min I think but my friend said to leave it in for 15-20min so thats what I did for the first few uses. After about 3 uses the yellow/brassiness was gone! I used it twice a week and would definitely use it again if I ever go back to blonde!
