Overall I found this shampoo to be okay. I think out of the shampoo or conditioner I would prefer the conditioner. I don't think this did a lot for my hair and the jelly like consistency was a bit odd for me. The shampoo didn't sudds up as much as other shampoos I'd use in the past which I do like. The smell is great though and very fresh. I probably wouldn't buy it again as I do have other shampoos I'd prefer

I really like the unique packaging, and I loved how much information they managed to fit on the bottle (I love reading every word of hair care/skin care products!). I did find the bottle cap hard to open though - I thought I was going to break a nail from it!
The shampoo is clear with a gel-like consistency. I found I needed to use a bit more than I would with other shampoos, in order to get a good lather. I also definitely needed to double shampoo, as the first application I didn't feel like I got much lather or much of a clean at all. Then, once I rinsed my hair the second time it felt almost too squeaky clean - to the point of it feeling stripped. This was a problem when I went on to apply the conditioner from the range, which was quite a thin consistency - my hair had small tangles and knots.
Unfortunately I didn't like the smell - it seemed quite fake and chemical-like. I could get past this if the product worked outstandingly, but it didn't.
After drying my hair, it felt clean but it didn't feel overly soft or look shiny/hydrated - it looked and felt a bit more lacklustre than I would expect for day one/freshly washed hair unfortunately. It also looked quite frizzy. The good news was that my hair didn't feel weighed down, and I appreciated that the shampoo delivered on that promise.
I will continue to use this shampoo, although I will use it alongside another shampoo going forward (i.e. first shampoo with a different brand, second shampoo with the Hair Food shampoo) since it doesn't lather as much as I would like it to. I liked the concept of the shampoo - it's great that it is made up of natural and vegan ingredients. However, I don't feel like it was executed as well as expected, so I wouldn't purchase it again. It didn't feel great to apply and it didn't provide great results.
Tips: Tip: I recommend pairing this shampoo with a thicker conditioner than the one from the range.
Beautiful sustainable packaging with a lovely scent but that’s as far as my positive words go. I found myself having to wash my hair more regularly with this product. Gone from once a week wash to every second day as my hair just got so greasy with this product.
This is a clear shampoo its a thin consistency no squeezing of the bottle is required (at the start of the bottle), as you will just end up using to much. It has a flip type lid that is reasonably easy to open and closes easily too so no wastage. Its has a very strong fragrance when you first apply it really fruity and summer which i really like in a shampoo ans is also a little surprising as I've found that the more natural things get the less fragrance there is. Depending on the length of your hair (mines long) will depend on how much you use 30ml will do my daughters shorter thin hair and i would do that and need to go back again to get all my hair thoroughly covered, which means i would use a little than my regular shampoo. My hair was easy to comb after i washed it silky smooth and once dry it was left with a nice natural shine which i like, and it stayed that way for a good couple of days so i wasn't needing to wash every other day. I could go 3-4 days before it has that greasy feel to my hair but i never seem to get those really dry ends like i normally do. This is on the more expensive side for supermarket shampoo and i really like the results so would purchase this every now and again but not every time. The bottle is a slender rectangle not too high fits in the shower cavities nicely and didn't take up too much space, it has nice pictures and is nice and easy to read and you can find all the info easily.
This is a great shampoo that left my hair light and clean with a light fragrance my hair was a lot more hydrated and i didn't get dry frizzy ends when it was needing washed again.
I would totally recommend this shampoo to anyone who has dry hair and looking for a bit more moisture so that you don't to wash as often to help tame those frizzy ends.
Tips: i really liked this product but i think you need to stick with it my hair seemed more hydrated after a couple of weeks use, Stick with it!!
I just love the scent of this and I think that this scent us my new favourite. I really like the idea of having aloe in it because it's very good for your skin too so would make a healthy scalp and I've already tried the big tub of conditioner - that one always seems sold out so I will keep an eye out for it when I can. I would rather get the big tub as I bet it's thicker than the Conditioner that goes with the shampoo in the same shaped bottle. I got this from the beauty vault and my favourite scent was the banana it was also the first one I had tried but I really really do think I love the aloe more. All the shampoos from this line lather well so I'm sure they are heavy with sulfates in them and prefer to only purchase on special but the conditioner in the big tubs and bottles I will continue to purchase regardless because I like the silicone free stuff as I can mix it with temporary hair dye and many other reasons. I can't really say that this made my hair look more shiny because I tend to use a conditioner in conjunction with it but aloe is a hydrating plant so it is possible however with the sulfates in here that could counteract that affect. Either way it's a nice scented shampoo that does the job.
I was impressed that this shampoo left my hair feeling healthy and smooth, without making it feel oily, even a day later.
The shampoo didn't 'foam' as much as some others I've used, but it definitely left my hair feeling clean, although I did use two lots to ensure any hairspray/dry shampoo had been washed out thoroughly.
I like the handy bottle it comes in, and found it easy to carry in my gym bag.
Tips: Works well combined with conditioner.
I have been wary of using 'natural' products after a few friends have had skin reactions to them. I also find that sometimes they do not feel as nice or work as well as the usual products. However, I have really really enjoyed using this shampoo. It lathers well, cleanses my hair without stripping it dry with a faint pleasant scent. The bottle squirted the perfect amount of shampoo each time I used it. I also get the added satisfaction of knowing that part of the packaging was made with recycled plastic and it is also recyclable. I will definitely try other lines in this range in the future.
I hadn't used Garnier in a hot minute as ive been trying out more natural products so when i got offered to review this i put my hand up.
The packaging is simple, easy to read and biodegradable!
Im glad it smells yummy and not like aloe vera!
This cleaned my hair nicely. i only apply on the roots and am pleased it hasn't made my dandruff worse. I leave on for a few minutes and the roots don't feel oily at all! i really like this shampoo
Tips: only apply to roots
The first thing I like is the packaging! Different from the classic Garnier shampoo/condition slim bottle - it is super cute, reminds me of a juice bottle. The bottle looks and feels like a premium version of the classic Garnier range. The breakdown of ingredients on the back of the bottle is easy peasy to understand, with 96% of natural origin products I found it an interesting read.
As all Garnier products do - it smells yummy. I wasn't quite sure what to expect with Aloe Vera, it was light and refreshing but not overpowering. The texture is jelly-like, I did find a bit more product came out of the bottle than I typically use.
I shampoo my hair twice before conditioner - it lathered nicely in my hair. Once my hair dried it felt nice and soft (maybe due to no silicone?). I didn't see any outstanding or surprising results, it did the job it states.
At a 350ml volume bottle, I would expect it would last me a few weeks. It is on the smaller size, which is good if you are just wanting to try a new product out. The price point of $12.00 (full price at countdown) is more than I wouldn't want to pay for a supermarket brand hair product especially since I grew up using the classic Garnier range which on sale was $3! It is currently on sale for $8.40 which is more realistic in my opinion.
Tips: Shampoo twice! Once to clean out the dirt and grease and then a second to cleanse the hair
This Garnier Aloe Shampoo smells so good! I love that Garnier and other big brands are venturing into the natural space but I do have a few qualms about this. Firstly, the packaging. It doesn't look cute. While I can forgive this, I can't get away from the fact it looks like a smoothie or health drink. The fact that it says "food" also gives me a bit of anxiety about young children getting this mixed up with actual consumables. Keep this in a high place! The lid flips open and it's easy to get the product out. I love the smell of this - it's a fresh, clean smell and it does the job, cleansing my hair without stripping it dry and makes it look shiny. The plus? When used in conjunction with the conditioner, the smell lasts on my hair after it's dried whereas most other brands' fragrances don't. The shampoo lathers well as expected and makes my split ends look... almost non-existent. My main gripe with this is that, while it's mostly natural, it does contain Sodium Laureth Sulphate. While this SLES is slightly better than a SLS, I'd still personally rather choose products that don't contain it.
Tips: Use with the conditioner to get long-lasting, fresh smelling hair! So good that even my partner noticed.
