Bought 2 when on a deal with Countdown upon a friend's recommendation for my curly ( type-3C) hair. First off, the smell is amazing, quite strong and fruity. the hair food is much thicker and creamier than a normal conditioner! All the ingredients are natural and you can definitely tell it is a great product from the texture! For me personally, I did not enjoy using it as a conditioner but found it to be the most PERFECT hair mask! It sets your hair up really well and a small amount of this applied works really for a lot of hair! If you want to define or create curls, this is the perfect setting hair food! It made my hair so soft and so smooth (I often use straighteners!!) - it really seals in the moisture and makes your stronger and appear shiny and healthy! Created a beautiful bounce to my hair!
Tips: Buy 2 tubs if you are going to use this as a conditioner as it will go really quickly! If you are looking for hair mask, one tub should be fine for starters! :)
I’ve only just started my curly girl hair journey, part of that was getting new hair products of course! I didn’t want to spend a fortune so when this was recommended as a curly girl approved product I was so happy since it’s so inexpensive! It smells divine! I’ve been using it to co-wash my hair and my hair feels so much more healthy and hydrated, and my curls has returned! The product is thick which I love, and feels amazing going through my hair.
Tips: If you have curly hair this product is great! Use it both as shampoo and conditioner!
I use this as a hair mask after I use conditioner. It smells amazing and is so nourishing. It helps to make my hair more manageable and my hair is more hydrated after using it. It really helps with my usually dry and damaged hair. I've also noticed less frizz after using this product as well!
Got caught up in the marketing hype behind this product and also the fact that it looked and smelt so delicious. Nice and thick upon application. Unfortunately it was too heavy for my hair and left it feeling greasy and unwashed. My teen daughter who has completely different hair texture to me also found her results the same so we did not finish the product.
I enjoyed using this product. I liked trialing it.
I have curly thick dry hair and this product has Curly hair-friendly ingredients. So if you have curly hair I would recommend giving this a go.
Personally, I thought this cream was hydrating, but I really did not like my hair smelling like a banana. The smell over time really turns weird. I have dry hair so I don't shampoo my hair more than once a week so this stayed on my hair for a week or 6 days, so i didn't enjoy smelling banana on my hair which is weird.
I do think it's hydrating for my hair, so i would use this as a conditioner or hair mask that i would wash off after. So i wouldn't apply it as a leave in conditioner
Tips: Use as a hair mask unless you want your hair smelling like a banana for the week, you can apply it as a leave in cream.
Garnier Fructis Hair Food conditioners are tailored to suit your hair care needs. The banana flavour is wonderful at hydrating and softening hair. After a year of using these conditioners (alternating flavours from time to time), my hair has become thicker again and super soft and silky.
The price of these are incredibly cheap and they work wonders on your hair. I usually just pick one up from the supermarket when I do my grocery shop. I love the packaging of these products. It allows you to scoop how much you desire, and you are able to use the entirety of the product compared to tubes and bottles, where there is always product left over that you cannot get out.
Smells amazing and made my dry coloured blonde hair feel so much smoother and softer. It was far less frizzy and feels healthier.
Tips: I washed and conditioned my hair and then towel dried it lightly before putting the mask on for the recommended minute.
I saw these on sale at Countdown so thought I'd give it a go after mixed reviews online. I use this on both my daughters hair and mine. I've found it does more for my daughter than me, used while hair is damp and just a small amount on finger tips, then brushed through.
It definitely hydrates the hair and makes it easier to brush. The banana smell is not too much either. My ends are still a little frizzy but I just keep applying this when needed. I'll continue to use this product as after more uses it may do more for my hair. But definitely helping my daughters hair and we both have wavy dry hair.
Tips: Can be used as a conditioner or on damp hair and left in. Apply small amounts at a time so you don't over do it, and doesn't need to be used everyday.
Smells great, does a great job for my dry hair and works really well to detangle it.
I use it twice a week as a conditioning treatment in the shower
Tips: You only need a little bit as it goes a long way
