This shampoo and condition is going to be my new go to. I am so impressed, especially considering this is a supermarket brand! First off, the smell is amazing! I was a bit worried when I saw I was receiving the banana one, because sometimes banana scented stuff really stinks. This scent, is not over powering and isn’t your typically banana scent….it’s more like a banana perfume vibe, if that makes sense. And I have revived so many compliments on my hair smelling nice! I’m pretty easy to please when it comes to shampoo and conditioner…I’m not expecting miracles. I just don’t want a big frizzy Afro once my hair has dried. I have curly hair, so I can go from beautiful curls to Diana Ross frizz in a matter of seconds. For the sake of this trial, I was my hair 4 times. I normally only wash once a week. I let my hair air dry, and guess what…..no Diana Ross frizz! My curls were actually more defined, super soft and look so shiny! I also received many compliments on my hair after the first wash. I was so confident with the shampoo and conditioner, I even washed my hair one morning before work….I never do this! I can confidently say I absolutely love this set. I am definitely repurchasing. My hair looks and smells amazing, and is feeling very soft. It is definitely a must if you have curly, dry hair. You will be impressed. I’m now going to go out and get the hair mask and see how that goes all together!

I received the Garnier Fructis Hair Food Banana Shampoo and Conditioner and the first thing that caught my attention was the yellow and white bottles - such a great size for travelling or small showers. The colour and image were so inviting my husband thought they were smoothies!
The bottles are easy to pop open at the top, and the scent is exceptional. The banana scent from both products simply takes you away to a tropical island. My children loved the banana smell and were eager to get their hair washed, which is unheard of.
Both products are easy to use, the shampoo has a great lather that ensure all your hair is getting cleaned and the conditioner finishes it off with nourishment to ease dry hair and ends .The final result is clean, nourished hair with a smooth finish and a beautiful scent.
I love that these are vegan products, the bottles are 100% recyclable and they are made from 50% recycled plastic.
My children loved the scent and enjoyed their hair smelling like fruit, which was pretty cute. Definitely a product I will carry on using for the scent, the result and that the ingredients are 96% and 98% natural.
Tips: A little goes a long way for both the shampoo and conditioner. Use them together for a long lingering scent of bananas.
Disclaimer: I have very coloured hair that has seen a lot of bleach over the years.
My hair LOVES this shampoo and conditioner!
When I saw this duo first pop onto the shelves in my local supermarket I was excited as I have been loving the hair mask/treatment version for the last few years.
These two did not disappoint. Both vegan friendly and silicone-free I knew they were someone I wanted to try. What wasn't ready for was how healthy, shiny and vibrant they would leave my colour treated hair. Not to mention they smell amazing!
Easy to use and perfect for day to day use.
Tips: A little goes a long way.
Thanks BR for the opportunity to be part of this trial team.
The shampoo and conditioner duo are a cute pair of bottles - the clear yellow bottle is the shampoo, and the opaque white bottle is the conditioner. I love that you can tell them apart without having to read the labels, especially when you're in the shower with water dripping down your face and you don't have your glasses on!
As I mentioned in the individual reviews, I love the lids. They are easy to open with wet hands, and close with a really satisfying click. I'd be confident using these to travel with knowing they wont open and leak everywhere.
The biggest drawback for me was the scent - neither smelt like banana to me. I guess it is a hard scent to recreate, they still both smelled nice, just didn't make me think of banana.
The instructions are straight forward - the shampoo recommends wash and rinse and follow with conditioner (interestingly doesn't recommend to wash twice), and the conditioner say to massage through and rinse (again, interestingly it doesn't recommend to leave in the usual 5 minutes). Both suggest to end with the treatment which may just take this duo to the next level!
While for me there wasn't a huge wow factor, I really loved how gentle yet effective the shampoo was, and how weightless the conditioner left my hair feeling. I am now off to buy another hair food treatment to trial them as a trio
Tips: Be careful where you leave the bottles - both my little ones thought they were banana drinks.
Packaging is nice I like the big tops so it can be set on a shelf upside down easily and the fact the conditioner is in a different coloured bottle so for use who need glasses no squinting in the shower and trying to grab the right bottle. The shampoo foams up nicely and cleans my hair without stripping it and the follow on with the conditioner is a perfect match. I’d say for a nourishing duo these are definitely worth a try especially with the price. It’s a nice set and such a reasonable price
I was super excited to be on this trial as I absolutely love the Garnier Hair Food range. Thanks BR! If I saw it in the supermarket banana is the one I would have picked first, so as soon as it arrived on my doorstep I ripped it open and couldn't wait to use it. The packaging is cool, it reminds me of a banana smoothie bottle.
Shampoo: First of all the smell.....omg it is delicious! Really smells like banana and has no fake, chemical scent. It is a golden colour with a semi thick consistency. It lathers up beautifully in my hair and creates a lot of suds. It washes out easily and doesn't leave my hair feeling like a tangled mess. I also get no colour wash out with this.
Conditioner: The conditioner smells devine! A gorgeous banana scent just like the shampoo. It has a very thick consistency which I love. I use a generous amount and slather it on then let it sit while I go about my shower. It washes out easily and my hair is left tangle free and silky smooth.
Once dry I have beautiful soft hair with considerably less frizz. It smells amazing and has a lovely shine to it.
Of the two the conditioner is definitely my favourite. I feel they work best when used together. I have dry, frizzy hair and this suits my hair perfectly. I can't wait to try the rest of the range.
If you've used and loved the Banana Hair Food mask you'll love this pair too - they're deliciously fragranced and work well together to leave hair clean and nourished.
I LOVE the packaging - they look like milk bottles, they scream natural and are recyclable.
This shampoo is thick and foams well. I like a sudsy shampoo so it's an enjoyable experience in the shower. The fragrance fills the shower!
My hair was easy to comb immediately after use, and felt clean and soft.
The conditioner is quite runny which I found unusual, but it still did the job. My hair felt nourished and supple after use.
A fantastic supermarket buy!
A big fan of the fruity Garnier Fructis Hair Food 3-in-1 hair masks, I was excited to try a shampoo and conditioner from the same range.
My hair is thick, past my shoulders and I have dry lengths while my scalp gets greasy if I don't wash my hair every second day. Nourishing products for dry hair are what I need, however one to leave Banana Fruit Bursts in the packet I was initially disappointed to find that the products I needed were banana flavour. Fear not - turns out the smell of these products is "tropical fruity" rather than "chemical banana".
The smell and texture of both the Garnier Fructis Hair Food Banana Shampoo and Conditioner are great. Not tested on animals and both vegan formulas, the shampoo is marked as of 96% natural origin and the conditioner of 98% natural origin which acknowledges these products are not perfectly natural but super close. The bottles look like they might contain a juice or smoothie. They're recyclable and have been made with 50% recycled plastic, however I find the flip caps a bit difficult to open with wet hands in the shower - it seems like the caps aren't quite tall enough.
I need to use these two products for much longer to understand the long-term benefits, but they work well together and my hair looks clean and nourished. I certainly like what I've seen over a 10 day trial period.
Thank you so much for inviting me to be on this trial, I've thoroughly enjoyed trialing this duo. I'm so glad that they brought out a shampoo and conditioner to compliment the mask in this range.
I have issues opening the shampoo bottle lid but not the conditioner which is strange but once you open it (I had to use a towel to grip on with) it comes out easily. The conditioner is alot thicker than the shampoo so does take a little bit to get it to come out but no major.
The smell is so good - like banofee pie or banana cake- yum. This set really should come with a warning because you just want to devour it. My hair smells like banana for so long after using both the shampoo and conditioner.
They compliment each other well - with the shampoo getting in there giving a good clean and the conditioner leaving your hair soft and hydrated.
I love this duo and would definitely purchase this in the near future. Maybe try out the other ones in the range too.
Thanks again Beauty Review x
I think this shampoo and condition work well together as a regime. They’re not life changing but work perfectly fine. If you had extremely dry hair, these products would be unlikely to be enough but for you. I would say my hair is dry on the lengths and oily on the roots and this regime seemed to work well.
The shampoo works well to clean my hair and the condition puts just the right amount of nourishment back into my hair without drying it out.
Both products have the same banana smell and compact packaging.
I’m a big fan of using a shampoo and condition part of the same range because I think that’s how they’re supposed to be used. You get the best of both products when you use it as recommended with the other product.
