I’m so impressed by this Shampoo and Conditioner duo! Not only does it smell incredible while washing your hair, it leaves a scent for up to 2 days after. It really does an awesome job at ensuring your hair is clean and it’s one of those products where if I ran out of my “good stuff”, I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase this as it’s got a really good price point and is easily accessible. The fact that its 95% organic as well, is another reason why I would happy use as an alternative to my salon grade product! Highly recommend, especially if you love bananas!

Tips: Ahhh, try not to eat?
I absolutely love this combo again it's with reusable plastic so we are saving the planet one hair wash after the other hehe.
the bottles are small colour full and catches your eye. when you open it a fresh fruity smell catches you. the shampoo goed a long way you only need a few drops for it to foam up and covers all your hair, the conditioner is a thick white paste and I could tell it just added all the goodness my hair needed.
after using this combo my hair was beautiful shiny and full of volume it smelled great ND I just love it.
I will definitely repurchase the Garnier banna hair shampoo and conditioner
A real winner form Garnier. Eco friendly packaging made from recycled materials, super fun, novelty design. Vegan and cruelty free formula means none of our furry friends were harmed in the making of these products.
Let’s talk hair. Before trialing these products, my hair was fluffy, dry, split ends, dandruff, itchy scalp. I’d pretty much just tie it up all the time. Was not proud of my locks. I had stopped using shampoos in the hopes of preserving some of the natural oils that help my hair, and was only using conditioners of similar price range from other brands.
For the most part the results for this brand have been the same, less to no dandruff, healthier looking hair. But there are a few significant differences: my hair is super soft. I serially can’t keep my hands away. It doesn’t weigh my hair down but I no longer have a fluffy mess. Since starting this trial I have been able to wear my hair down with pride. It’s so good to be able to use a shampoo along with conditioner as well.
I nearly forgot to mention the smell! It’s delightful in the shower, like banana candy! But don’t you fuss about the scent lingering on your bedding or clothes, it doesn’t.
All in all, I think I’ll be carrying on with these products. I’m quite keen to try the other “flavours” in this range too.
I received my Hair Food Banana Shampoo and Conditioner the day I needed to wash my hair so was perfect timing! I really liked the look of the bottles they kind of look like fruit drinks but lucky they are clearly labelled shampoo and conditioner! I've only ever used the Macadamia hair food mask but have always wondered what the banana one smells like, its exactly like banana its so yummy!! These shampoo and conditioner are made for dry hair which was perfect for me as my hair is very dry at the moment. I loved that the whole shower filled up with the delicious smell of the shampoo when I started applying it to my hair. They definitely worked well together leaving my hair so soft! I have stopped using the shampoo and conditioner that I was using before trying this one, because this pair I found made my hair soft but really clean aswell and didn't feel weighed down by the product I was using. My hair is quite thin so I find I need to wash it quite a bit but I didn't have to worry about washing my hair so soon with this shampoo and conditioner. It was also so good for my 10 year old daughter that has such thick hair, her hair felt so soft afterwards, she loved the results!!
On receipt of the products I was a little amused as they looked as though they should be drunk. Unimpressive packaging belied the quality of the product. Not something you would put on display. The shampoo created an excellent lather and was easy enough to wash out. The conditioner left my hair feeling beautifully soft and silky. The only downside was the fragrance was a strong and rather pungent banana. However this was only whilst using the products and the fragrance fortunately did not linger. Great product but fragrance a bit strong,
I was selected by the BR team to trail the shampoo and conditioner and have reviewed the individual products and now this is my thoughts on the duo. Honestly i wasn't the biggest fan, i don't like the packaging, its not pleasing and is just abit too "80" vibe, i like minimal. In terms of the performance together, it made my hair very flat and heavy feeling. There was no bounce and it got greasier two days sooner than normal. Even though i had washed out the product well it still felt like i had residue left in my hair. When i dried it, i had alot of fly away's. The smell is nice in the bottle but lingers around until the next wash and i kept getting waves of banana smells throughout the day, my daughter said i smelt like perky nana chocolate, not ideal.
Overall the product did what is said it would but it just didn't agree with my hair and left it feeling dull, flat and heavy.
I gave the rest of the product i had left over to my niece who has very curly hair and she loved it so it definitely didn't go to waste
Tips: a little goes a long way, don't forget to wash twice with the shampoo and distribute the conditioner evenly and wash out well
These products from Garnier are lovely. They come in funky plastic bottles reminiscent of juice bottles. They are a lovely bright yellow with very neat branding. They have flip top lids and pour-able tops underneath.
The shampoo smells lovely and leaves my hair clean and lightweight. The conditioner is thick and creamy and absorbs into my hair in a way I really like. It has a divine banana scent that unfortunately doesn't stay in my hair after drying but is gorgeous while I'm using it.
The products claim to detangle & nourish dry hair with no weigh down, and leave users with deeply nourished, healthy looking hair. I feel they meet this claim very well. My hair feels soft, nourished and hydrated.
Overall, I enjoy using the two products together, and they work really well.
They are vegan, contain no silicones, and come in recyclable bottles, and those things are important to me in my products.
I recommend trying this set - the scent alone is a big drawcard if you like a creamy banana scent, and the gentle shampoo is a great complement to the creamy conditioner.
Tips: Use together as per the instructions.
I was very lucky to be selected to trial the banana set of shampoo and conditioner, firstly because I love banana scented products and they are hard to find and secondly because these products are for dry hair and my hair and scalp became so dry in the winter(mainly from dry air inside due to heating), so this set was a perfect match for me. Aesthetically I really like the packaging of all hair food products, I find them cute and the shape of the bottles are nice and sleek, user friendly, easy to open and disperse. I also like the turn garnier took with creating more environmentally friendly packaging, as these are made of 50% recycled plastic, plus the bottles are 100% recyclable. Their ingredients became really good, more natural and silicone-free, even though I’m not against silicones in hair products at all, but it still gives a more affordable option for people who follow the curly girl method(no silicones allowed for that). I like the bar they set for supermarket brands, we can expect a surge in better quality, yet affordable prices in the future and it is great for our hair and our wallets! I absolutely loved the shampoo of this range, however the conditioner couldn’t deal with my heat-damaged, coloured hair, but luckily they have hair masks that are more heavy duty and I can just use the conditioner for my scalp only and the deep treatment mask on the lengths of my hair. It is also possible that as soon as winter is over and the heating won’t mess up the moisture balance in my hair that the conditioner will suffice to hydrate my lengths too, will have to wait and see.
Tips: Give these a try as these are affordable and good quality, no need to pay salon prices for quality products anymore, supermarket brands have come a long way!
Overall, I like this range of Garnier Fructis hair food products. They come in super cute packaging and look just like delicious fruit smoothie bottles. It’s a catchy design. I prefer hair products to be in a bottle as well rather than a tub because they are easier to use in the shower. I also find the texture of both the shampoo and conditioner in this range to be perfect – not too runny nor too thick, it’s just right!
The conditioner has the edge for me over the shampoo because of its fragrance. It smells absolutely divine and it feels almost pampering to use because of its creamy-looking formula and luscious fragrance. The shampoo feels a bit more basic in comparison because of the way it looks and smells - its formula is almost colourless and its fragrance is fairly non-descript. But both products lather up well and rinse off well. Plus they both feel gentle and kind on my hair. I like knowing that both of these products are vegan, kinder on the environment, cruelty-free and mostly of natural origin.
The only negative comment that I have to make with this range is that it didn’t have any noticeable effect on my dry hair… They are pleasant and easy to use and feel gentle on my hair, but unfortunately they don’t have that wow factor in terms of being the solution to my dry hair.
I would still recommend these hair food products because they are mostly of natural origin, cruelty-free, sustainable, better for the environment and kind and gentle on your hair – they do rate well in all those areas. And also I think this gentle hair food range would work well on children’s hair because they are not harsh or artificial. But because they don’t make much of a difference to my dry hair, I am giving them an overall score of three and a half kisses.
Tips: Tip: keep out of reach of children.
I really, really wanted to like this duo, but other than the smell, I cant. My head itches something chronic, and my hair felt drier and rattier than it did before I washed it.
The shampoo did not lather well, at all, and I had to use a second squirt to get a lather everywhere else. It did untangle my hair though, weirdly enough.
The conditioner felt like a watered down, much less effective version of their hair mask, and I believe this attributed more to the ratty feeling, as once it was rinsed out, there was nothing left to my hair.
The claims it doesn’t weigh down hair are true, but anything else is just. A lie. Its awful, and I really didn’t like either of them.
