Unfortunately the cap on this was smashed to pieces by the time I received this to review. But onwards to the review! I'm not a huge fan of hair masks because i find they can be a little heavy on my oily roots/dry ends hair. I would say though that this mask performed a lot better than my usual conditioner and I definitely will keep using it. It smells delicious and I definitely found my hair more easier to manage the following day. All in all a good offering from Garnier, however I would prefer it if it had been in a tube.

Tips: If like me, you have oily roots, use this on your ends only as it can be too rich otherwise.
There are three ways of using this product 1) as a conditioner, 2) as a mask, or 3) leave in conditioner. I tried it all three ways, and preferred it as a mask (e.g. apply after shampoo and conditioner and leave for one minute before rinsing). Using it this way left my hair feeling very soft and shiny, and surprisingly it did not weigh my hair down or make it feel heavy.
When I used it as a conditioner it didn't seem to really penetrate my hair and left it kind of feeling dry. My hair is too fine to use as a leave in conditioner and it made my hair feeling too greasy.
The product itself is a thick white creamy texture and has a sweet, fruity scent. I used only a small amount on my hair- smaller than the amount of conditioner I use.
One of the things I really like about this product are the 98% natural origins formula (no artificial colourants, no silicones and no parabens) and that the container states the source and origin of all the ingredients. So good to have it broken down into understandable terms.
The thing I did not like is the tub. It is definitely a lot bigger than I was expecting, but the large round tub with a plastic screw lid (like what body butters come in) was very awkward to manage in the shower. I don't have a ledge to place it on so after scooping out a bit, I struggled to put the lid back on without loosing the product on my hand.
Tips: Use once a week to revive your hair
This product is smells amazing! I love how you can use this product in many different ways, as a shampoo, conditioner, hair mask or leave in. I love how soft my hair feels after I have used this product and how delicious my hair smells for ages afterwards
This was ironically the last mask In the range I purchase as I do colour my hair from time to time. The smell is strong not unpleasant but it doesn't hold a candle compared to the beautiful banana mask in the same range.I feel confident using this mask after colouring my hair as it doesn't appear to fade my freshly coloured hair and it leaves it shiny and soft.
I would definitely recommend this for coloured hair as it doesn't fade and contains coconut oil which helps nourish.
So Cheap, so effective! i love the papaya from this range- scent preference, mostly - but tried the other to see if there’s a difference in the variants... and there doesn’t seem to be, it’s mostly scent
This works. It helps hydrate dry hair and give it a nice shine. I Don’t mind the scent even though I don’t really know what goji is meant to smell like .
My hair is a good test for any conditioner, with the amount of heat styling, travel and washing I put it through. I use this 2-3x a week, and I always double condition anyway, but this can stand alone if it needs to. I tend to use it as a mask - work through hair, leave for a few mins, and wash out. My hair is currently silky and smooth - healthier and prettier than it's been in years. All the products in the range seem to achieve this, the only difference is the scents.
The huge tub is such good value, and this goes a really long way. I paid $8.50 for this in My Chemist Warehouse, so even cheaper than normal
definitely smells good enough to eat! I've been using it as a combination conditioner and hair mask depending on how my hair is and afterwards you can definitely tell the difference
Tips: Just like it says- use a little on dry hair to help when styling
Absolutely lovely moisture mask for hair for a very affordable price. It smells divine while on the hair, but unfortunately it doesn’t linger after it’s washed off and hair is dried. I have coloured hair and didn’t notice any difference in performance to the macadamia hair food and that one has made my hair a lot softer and healthier too. Don’t get me wrong, this goji one is great for softness and shine as well, it’s just that the macadamia one helped/suited my hair even more. I’m very glad I tried this one as well, but it’s not a repurchase product after I run out. I will still try the other flavours/scents too and see which one is best for me. :)
Well the thing that first drew me in to want to put my hand up for this review was the fact that the BR crew described them as 'smelling good enough to eat'. After reading about the Goji Hair Food I was convinced it was made for me. The fact that its purpose is to nourish and protect coloured hair got me hook line and sinker. Upon opening the lid oh wow how my senses came to life! The scent of goji berries is beyond heavenly. After reading the label, I am so impressed! Not only is it a hair mask like I expected, but it can be used as a conditioner and a leave in conditioner. MIND BLOWN! Why didn't anyone else think of this genius before?! The best part is when I looked at the price at the supermarket.....hello $7.90! That's right around $3.00 cheaper than any other hair mask and this one has triple uses.
I love the fact that it’s 98% natural origin although 100% would have been better it's still quite a high percentage. It's quite a big pot and lasts a fair few washes for its price. I managed to get 5 washes in before the trial ended and there is still half left. I wasn't sparse with it either. I made sure it was slathered in there. At the time of the first wash I has just bleached and coloured my hair so was excited and nervous to find out what my hair would be like afterward. I shampooed and conditioned as per normal and then slathered the hair food in my hair and left it in for 10 minutes to act as a mask. What I don't understand is why it tells you to only leave it in as a mask for 1 minute. Any other hair mask I have ever read, used or seen suggests leaving it in for at least 10 minutes to get the full impact. 10 minutes later I rinsed and oh yes hello soft tangle free hair!! Usually my bleached hair is a bit dry and unmanageable but this is a whole new level of soft,
The true test will be when it's dry. I have curly hair but it has the tendency to become overly frizzy after being washed and especially coloured. After drying it's apparent that my hair is so soft that it was bound to frizz. It is like I stuck my hair in a socket! Although it made my hair feel beyond amazing the ongoing frizz got me annoyed. I decided to use it as a leave in to see if it would tame my curls in to submission. This actually helped with keeping the frizz to a minimum. In summary I would probably use as a leave in conditioner but as a hair mask and conditioner it is not my fave. I hate the unmanageable frizz that happens after. But in its defence my hair is a lot healthier feeling and not so straw feeling. I don’t think I would purchase again after seeing how unkept my hair looks after using it.
Tips: Be prepared for frizz if you have really curly hair like mine
I purchased this on sale and it smells amazing it reminds me of a big tub of yogurt.
I would really have preferred it have a seel on the lid or even a cover under the lid as there is nothing stopping anyone from opening it in the shop.
I tried this as a leave in conditioner and I just keep coming back to the smell it’s amazing. It’s great because the kids love it so if they are really good they get to use it as a treat.
It leaves my hair feeling silky after I have just washed it however I find it drys a bit more frizzy than other products I use.
Not to sure how much difference it’s made to my colour as it doesn’t seem any better or worse.
Great for a pamper day put it in for a hair mask pop on a face mask and have a relax.
Upon first look I loved the packaging and the product smells amazing! Instructions are clear and I can’t wait to use it. Using the product: I found it difficult to scoop it out using wet hands, and once I had scooped it out, returning the lid with the creme on my hands was was hard to do and I ended up losing some of it on the lid. But once it was on my hair it was great - no greasy conditioner feeling, no fake chemical smell. Washing it off was so easy and my hair felt so smooth. I let my hair dry naturally and even had a few comments about the nice smell. The most wonderful thing was usually my hair gets pretty greasy fast and i’m pretty sure this product was easing some of the greasiness. So overall I was pretty happy with the actual product and the results it produces my hair truly feels softer! but a little unhappy about the mess on my bathroom shelf everytime I used it.
Tips: Took me a while til I figured out to smear product on the back of my hand first to make it easier to close when hands are wet. Also I was able to combat my greasy roots by applying mostly on the ends of my hair.
