Smells very nice and feels very healthy to use. Makes my hair significantly more manageable and helps de-frizz my hair.

I was super stoked to get on this trial, because I love hair products and I love my hair! I knew the tub was big but I didn't realize it was THIS big, a whopping 390 grams of delicious hair mask. In my experience hair masks come in 200g or smaller amounts, so I was very pleased to have such a large amount.
The product is a creamy off white and holy sh* is it thick!!! It also smells absolutely glorious! I'm not sure if it's goji berry esque, but it's still very nice. It applies very easily, I start from the tip of my hair and work backwards. It's easier to apply to wet hair but it's not impossible to apply on dry. Onto the results!
As conditioner: Less is definitely more with this. I applied maybe the amount of a 5c piece and found that it was plenty to cover my hair. Rinsing out my hair felt silky and smooth but once it was all out it kinda felt... dry? Like I hadn't put any in at all. I refrained from adding more and dried it partially au natural, partially with the help of my hair dryer. My hair felt soft and hydrated, even the super faded color looked good. I think I had less frizzy flyaways too. My only gripe is that my hair felt a little heavier than usual, and it got oilier faster than usual.
As a leave in: Again, less is definitely more! I ran my finger over the top of the product once for each side (so twice) and that was plenty for my tips. However it made my hair heavy, and was harder to brush - with oil it brushes easily and feels soft to the touch, it was the opposite with this. My hair didn't feel all that soft, it was weighed down but it smelled good. Not sure that's a selling point but! However after I rinsed it out the next day in the shower, my hair felt really good.
As a mask: I've tried this two ways, before shampooing and after shampooing like suggested. My preferred method is the former, simply because of how my hair reacted to this as a conditioner - I didn't want to shampoo my hair and condition and THEN have this on top. Too heavy and it would have been a waste of shampooing in my opinion.
I applied the mask and left it for a good 20 minutes, as my opinion of hair masks is - if they claim to do something, it's going to take longer than 1 minute to achieve that result. Rinsing and shampooing it out was easy peasy, and next time I'd use way less conditioner than I did on this occasion. The smell of the hair mask is enough to overpower my shampoo and conditioner combined! I also think shampooing it after the mask is better because my hair is definitely less heavy and incredibly soft. This is by far my preferred method of use for this hair product, and I'd happily repurchase (but of course in a different smell!)
I love that this "hair food" has so many uses! You can use this product as a conditioner, a mask, and a leave in. When I used it as a mask it left my hair feeling so soft after and a lot less frizzy than usual, which I've noticed it has been an issue since having it coloured and with the winter weather too. I also tried it as a leave-in to try tame my wild mane - which it did pretty well. If you have oily hair definitely leave this on your ends and stare clear of your roots. I love that this product has so many natural products and that it smells A-Mazing! Also the container is huge so definitely value for money.
this hair food is for coloured hair, large tub 390mls, so will last for quite a while, nice fragrance, not too strong, my hair is fine and a short bob and found i used what they recommended and left it on longer for a mask, my hair was greasy, other than that it did make my hair feel softer
Tips: only use a small amount
A large container a whopping 390 mills of a very thick white delicious conditioner The fragrance is reminds me of a yummy berry yogurt sweet with a bit of a tang.
As a conditioner a tablespoon rubbed into my ends and worked up to the roots made my hair feel silky smooth but as my hair dried it felt dry and not overly conditioned. After a few goes a good blob of this and left to soak in for 5 minutes did a much better job, I still felt like I needed something else I was left a bit fluffy.
As a leave in I tried this in my hair when it was damp just worked a small amount through my ends, I was left with hair that felt slightly dirty, it is to heavy for my hair and I tried even less the next time like pea sized and still felt the same.
Was feeling very disappointed at this stage, as I was expecting much more. I used it as a mask after shampoo I applied it and left it to work its magic for half an hour then rinsed well, but was left feeling a little greasy, I also tried it for at least an hour with a shower cap over top to keep it warm so it could work it’s magic, I was still left thinking I need something more to condition my mop.
Then as a pre wash I worked a generous amount into my dirty hair and scalp, left it on for well over an hour, hit the shower and gave my hair a good shampoo (twice) didn’t follow with any conditioner And wow I was left silky smooth shiny no flyaways, silky soft hair and not fluffy with a lovely fragrance.
Quite nice and such a good price, it’s nice an natural. I’m left in two minds about it.
Tips: As a pre wash and slather it all over your hair put on a sower cap and let if soak for an hour or more then wash well :)
I received a generous sample from a fellow BR beauty babe. Having had really good results with the Banana one, I was looking forward to trying this one and seeing if the result would be the same. Super creamy consistency, lovely smell (though not as pleasant as the banana one)
I used this as a conditioner and weekly treatment. Both uses has good results, but I had better results from the Banana one. I wouldn't purchase the full size of this one.
The goji berry one is fine. It had medium slip and leaves my hair quite happy. I have thick curls and it doesn't quite have the slip needed to get through the knottiest of days. I will continue to use what's left but won't buy again. It smells lovely
Tips: If you need a lot of slip in your conditioner, get the banana hairfoods
This was the least favourite from Garnier's range. The scent was ok but I didn't feel that it conditioned my hair as well as the others did. My hair is always coloured and I didn't feel that it added any extra vibrancy or protection to my hair. My favourite is definitely the papaya. But what works for one doesn't necessarily work for another so if you try this you may just love it.
Tips: Buy when on special at your local supermarket, both New World and Countdown have these.
I love a good, thick intense conditioner. I was really looking forward to using this one, so when I opened it I was delighted to see my finger marks left in it when I scooped some out - thickness = tick. I thought the scent was very strong, but knew it would be diluted so I liked that it would linger in my hair after as it’s a delicious summery smell to be wafting around with your locks. The packaging claims are clever, and the way it’s broken down makes it easy to see how they have substantiated them. But, it’s with a heavy heart that I have to say it has many flaws. The scent goes a bit burnt fruit odour when it’s on your hair, the thick gloopy texture doesn’t transfer once applied so it’s not so intense after all, the packaging is too big for my shower caddy and clumsy to handle on the shower floor when you have one hand full of product and your trying to stop the tub filling up with water. My hair looked great for the first half of the day, but because there was no volume from the conditioning treatment (although it doesn’t claim to give volume so can’t really criticise that) it had that stuck to your head look by the end of the day, and you certainly feel the need to wash again on day 2. I tried it as an every day conditioner after the first treatment go, but it’s not really worth the hassle, as the results weren’t any better. I do think it has other potential uses though. I scooped too much one of the goes so smoothed the rest over my legs to use as a shaving cream - works a treat at this, no scrapes, smooth and soft skin and nicer smelling than the traditional options. It will also come in handy if anyone visits with nits, as it will mix well with teatree oil to get rid of them.
Tips: Try not to spill any - makes the shower floor very slippy
I rate this hair mask an honest 5 out of 10 I do feel it could be better for example making my hair smooth, detangling it without having a comb through it etc. It does smell really good but that's about it.
