The bottles are a good design and good that they are solid and secure. While the shampoo doesn't smell wow in the bottle (personal opinion) it did smell nice once used. Shampoo was good for my fine hair. A small bit went a long way and gave my hair a clean feeling with a nice light weight feeling. Small dollop of conditioner and a thorough rinse resulted in a nice watermelon fragrance head of hair. Not too strong and noticed it minimised once my hair was dried. Once my hair was dry it felt soft, had some volume (but not too much) and was easy to manage. It looked fresh for longer and didn't feel weighed down. Definitely work well together.

I love the packaging and the products smell incredible. I really enjoyed using the products. I didn’t notice a massive overall difference in the volume of my hair but the products worked really well together and left my hair feeling nice and clean.
Since shaving my hair off in early 2020 lockdown for a fundraiser, I avoided shampoo's, taking on a C0-wash regime for over 12 months to avoid silicone-laden hair products which clogged my scalp in the past. As a result, my once-volumous, curly hair had become lank, my scalp oily, desperately needing a different approach to hair care. Along came Garnier Fructis Hair Food Watermelon Shamppon and Conditioner. Disclaimer: I do not like real watermelon. The scent, the texture, the watery sweetness is something I have avoided since childhood. But the claims of the Garnier Fructis Hair Food Watermelon Shampoo and Conditioner along with Garnier Commitments saw me wanting to try both products. The packaging is designed to mimick bottles of juice grabbed out of a cafe fridge, full of fresh goodness. Easy to hold, these stubby 350 ml recyclable bottles (50% recycled) have a non-recyclable green plastic lid, both with a pink watermelon image on the label, the shampoo bottle a soft pink, the conditioner bottle is white. There is a lot going on on the labels. There are also warnings in regards to do not eat and to keep out of reach of young children. Garnier state a Vegan formula, no silicones, dermatologically tested, the shampoo 97% natural origin formula, the conditioner 96%. Between them, these products, for fine hair, claim volume, gently cleansing, boosted moisture, express detangling, fast rinsing, and no weigh down. There is a clear list of ingredients on the back of both, with a breakdown on what is natural origin and what isn't. The shampoo is a clear, water-rich gel with a gentle foam. My hair and scalp instantly felt properly cleansed but not in any way stripped. The conditioner is a white, water-rich cream which absorbs easily, does the job, and rinses off without any residue. Yes both products smell of watermelon. Am I bothered? I am not bothered. It is not overpowering, and heck, I might even grow to like that sweet, summery scent. Post use. Hair feels soft, healthy, with a lovely bounce, not weighed down at all. My curls have revived with moisture, with a soft coil, and there is a more natural, healthy 'lift' to my hair. I love touching my hair again, and I no longer feel what is growing out of my head is someone else's hair. Did I mention how soft my hair feels? I love there are no silicone or parabens in this product. Despite the scent of watermelon lingering post use, I am a definite convert to this new hair on my head thanks to these products so will be reaching for these on the supermarket fridge, I mean, shelf, again.
Tips: Pay attention to the warnings regarding keep out of reach of young children. These really do look like bottles of juice, so it's our responsiblity as Adults to keep these up high.
I'm just not sure if I'm sold on all the details it says it does, when used alone I didn't get that super soft luscious feeling I was hoping for, but when paired with the leave in mask I did. I really loved the smell, the look of the packaging and also the formula was really lovely, but I don't feel like this did too much for me and my hair.
The bottles are very cute however not very practical. I found that they both need to be stored upside down in order to make it easier to use. Which is lucky that they have flat lids. They both smell divine without overpowering. The shampoo felt clean and the conditioner finished it off lovely without feeling like it would get greasy in five minutes after my hair has dried. My hair definitely felt like it had more volume and I could even go an extra day without washing! I thoroughly recommend this combination.
I absolutely loved this S&C set. It's smelled delish like watermelon Hubba Bubba i.e pure nostalgia. The shampoo left my hair feeling nice and clean without being 'squeaky clean', and the conditioner is way thicker and creamier than I thought it be. I don't think it added more volume to my hair per se, but it definitely did make it feel light and shiny and bouncy. Would 100% repurchase
These hair products really are a treat. I love that the bottles are easily distinguishable from each other and that they have nice study flip tops. The perfume is fresh and pleasant. The shampoo is gentle and the conditioner is easy to rinse out and not gluey. My fine hair feels lovely, manageable, soft and definitely feels as it has more volume. These products are good value, tick the “natural” box and for fine hair a definitely must-buy.
I am so pleased to have had the opportunity to try these three lovely natural and environmentally friendly hair products, It was a big ask to anticipate that there were any products that would make any noticable difference with my old (mid eighties) now quite fine hair currently in dire need of a good cut and shape following a couple of serious operations and a couple of months of after care. The fine hair shampoo and conditioner I had been using left my har feeling slightly heavy and sticky and needed to be used daily to keep any shape. What joy to use these lovely, quality, products and get bouncy, soft and shining hair that stays in shape for days . I have yet to try the mask as a leave in product or on dry hair but am now confident I would get satisfying results should the need arise.
Yes I love the products but I cannot say the same for the garish packaging that screams "cheap supermarket" products -not doing justice to the quality of the contents. I am aware that there is a great deal of information to be delivered (hence the tiny and for many of us totally unreadable print) so I have no issue with crowding it all onto the back and sides but, in my opinion, the front would look much more elegant with just a tiny picture of, in this case, the watermelon with the minimum of wording - possibly in a gold and fancy script - something to match the quality of the contents. That said I repeat my eternal plea to all producers of beauty products - If there are directions for use thatneed to be read PLEASE put them (on the back) in a slightly larger, bolder print that is easy enough to read without a magnifying glass
Tips: More expensive does not necessarily equate with better -these are very good value and inexpensive products, economical to use. Even with daily use I would anticipate that this one set of products is going to last for many weeks/months
I bought these with my review points from the beauty vault. I've noticed they are frequently sold out in the stores I've visited recently such as countdown band the warehouse. People have enjoyed the Garnier hair food line so when the new watermelon flavour came out obviously people wanted to try it. That and or the scent of watermelon is supper appealing. If you have not smelled any of the Garnier hair food line your missing out. I notice this smells like watermelon candy and in the shower while layering the shampoo I smelt something herbal I think it's lemon grass some kind of citrus is there looming in with the watermelon. Love the natural based products of this line and I have been using their conditioner treatments in the round tub for well over a year and I have many reasons why. The main one is I don't like using silicone & diamenthicone conditioners - I've mentioned reasons why and more about what diamenthicone and silicone does in many of my previous reviews. Sure I'll use them every once in a while but my frequently used conditioners are silicone diamenthicone free. I mix them with my temporary hair dyes too. I have tried all the Garnier hair food types now and so far I think my favourite scent is the Aloe Vera because of the scent but in the past I've loved Banana too. I enjoy having a stash of the different types and alternate them each wash and or hair colour. I enjoy the watermelon scent but it doesn't linger as much in my hair like the others and seems very youthful. I like that it cleans my hair quite well but did not notice volume differences but hair didn't feel weighed down, was soft and clean and a little goes a long way with the shampoos. I will keep buying this line depending on which scent I want.
Beautiful packaging - looks like yummy smoothie bottles. Recyclable, natural and cruelty free - very important boxes to tick. Perfect for fine hair, another tick. Both products smell nice, fresh and summery. The products are complementary - my hair feels clean and silky without feeling heavy. I dislike heavy hair products because my hair is so fine - love the lightweight products. Very affordable. And I know I have already said it, but the range is cruelty free - I no longer support any manufacturers of personal care products that make use of animal testing.
Tips: Use the Fructis Hair Food Watermelon Shampoo and Conditioner together for optimal results.
