Loved using this product. The pot is easy in the shower. Only need a small amount to make your hair feel nice and silky. Has a nice scent too. Used together with the Garnier Frutis soap bar is a great combination

This had a lovely fragrance and felt thick and luxurious when applied. I used it as a conditioner and tried to leave it in my hair for 2-3 minutes to get the full benefits. It left my hair feeling shiny and it was easy to brush my hair after washing... yay, no knots! I love that it's nice and natural and the fact that it has three uses means I'll definitely be buying this again!
I have tried Garnier Fructis hair food previously but I hadn’t tried the watermelon scent and I hadn’t tried it as a wash out conditioner.
I have previously tried Garnier hair food as a leave-in conditioner, which I love, as it leaves my hair feeling extremely soft and nourished.
This time around I also tried it as a wash out conditioner along with the watermelon shampoo bar. I love the watermelon scent and it still leaves my hair feeling soft, even when it’s used as a wash out conditioner.
We don’t have a great deal of shelf space in our shower so it was a bit tricky using it without filling up the container with water but I’ve since had a little product rearrangement and now it’s all sorted.
I love that the Garnier Fructis hair food can be used in three different ways. I find I use it differently depending on how my hair is looking/feeling. It definitely leaves my hair looking/feeling softer than any other leave-in conditioner I have used.
The extra bonus is that it doesn't contain silicones and it uses 97% natural origin ingredients.
I would totally recommend Garnier Fructis hair food conditioner, and its partner, the hair food shampoo bar. The watermelon scent is lovely, but there are also many other amazing hair food scents in the range - the macadamia is a firm favourite in our house.
I was very lucky to be selected for the trial of Garnier Fructis Hair Food Watermelon and Garnier Hair Food Shampoo Bar – Watermelon therefore my results are the combination of both products working together.
The first thing I noticed with this product is the strong watermelon fragrance. That got me worried because sometimes strong perfumes give me headaches. Yes, every one at home knows when I have washed my hair because of the nice aroma in the bathroom but my hair only had a subtle aroma, just the fresh smell but nothing overpowering so no headaches, yeah!
The product can be used in three different ways: as a mask, intense conditioner or leave-in treatment. I only used it as a conditioner and I am happy with the results. My hair feels nice, soft and no grease at all as sometimes happens with some conditioners.
The product comes in a huge container so it is a good price as it is going to last for a while.
The only thing I don’t like about Garnier Fructis Hair Food Watermelon is the container. As I mention before it is huge and when you have a small shower, it is a bit of struggle to get the product without the container getting water inside. It could be great if it could come in a pump bottle then it would have the five stars. Apart from that, I would definitely recommend Garnier Fructis Hair Food Watermelon.
I was using the Garnier Fructis Hair Food Watermelon as a conditioner - though there were options to leave on as a treatment or even leave altogether.
I paired this conditioner with the matching soap based shampoo.
I massaged mainly into the ends of my hair, and rubbed residue on my hands to my hair closest to my scalp.
My hair is long and fine, I found this conditioner just right and left my hair nice and soft plus in great condition.
I had no problem getting a brush (Tangle Teaser) through my hair after towel drying.
Just like the matching shampoo bar, I am not convinced that I would have picked that the aroma was watermelon, but it wasn’t overpowering.
The only issue I found was as the container was quite round in shape, there wasn’t a lot of room on the shower shelf!
This mask was awesome and my hair was amazing when I used it. My lank fine hair actually had body and it made a real difference. The fact that the packaging is all recyclable makes it even more attractive especially to the teenagers in our house. We loved it and would definitely recommend
The first thing I noticed about the product is how large the packaging is, I doubt it would fit on most shower shelves or racks. The next thing was the smell – I tried the watermelon volumizing hair food – and the smell was very strong. I can see why it’s described as watermelon, but I didn’t find it pleasant as I did the shampoo bar. It seemed very unnatural and like something you would expect for maybe kids shampoo, it reminded of something from when I was little but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. It’s not what you would expect for an adult in my opinion. I have fine, straight hair that’s a bit past my shoulders and I found that a little goes a long way, you don’t need too much of it. With the large container I would expect this to last a few months so it’s pretty economical. You can use the hair food in 3 three ways – as a conditioner, a mask and as a leave in treatment so that’s a plus to have something that does so much. I found that it made my hair have what I would call sticking up bits and it wasn’t smooth and nourished like other masks I have used. The longer you leave it in, the more oily I found it made my hair, and I didn’t enjoy that, it was unpleasant to the touch. You have to put in effort to really wash it out when using it as a conditioner I thought, more so than other conditioners I have used. I didn’t find this product really worked for me, and combined with the smell I wouldn’t continue using it.
Tips: Try all 3 uses and see what works best for you
I have quite fine hair so I was really keen to give this a go. Although I wasn't really a fan of the watermelon scent I was really impressed with how it made my hair feel. I've used hair masks in the past and found they made my hair incredibly soft but this one really gave my hair some oomph and definitely made it feel and look fuller. I would love to keep using this hair food and hopefully they bring out a different fragrance.
This mask can be used as conditioner, mask or leave in. I wouldn't use as a leave in personally as I think it would be to heavy for my hair but it would definitely hydrate & give amazing shine. Again not a watermelon fragrance fan but it was fine. Used with the matching shampoo bar & was really surprised how they both were in my bleached fine hair. Lots of bounce, shine & volume & blow waved awesome. Will continue to use to see what the long term effects are.
Priced between $10-14 this mask will last a long time as a little goes a long way.
Tips: Only use a little, it goes a long way.
The Garnier Watermelon Hair food is great. I wasn’t sure if my hair would be right for it as I have very thin bleached hair and find anything too heavy can weigh it down and make it look oily but this didn’t do that. It left my hair feeling moisturised and healthy. And it made it smell great! Would definitely repurchase
