I had seen this on special at the supermarket for $11.25, with the red colour i'd been wanting for my newly cut hair. Excitedly I pulled this out as soon as I got home. The instructions and box are stock standard for hair dye. Putting the no1and2 into the applicator bottle was quick and easy, it mixed well with in a few hard shakes. I liked the different black gloves. Beginning to apply the product I noticed zero drips as the constancy was thick enough to not spill but thin enough to to evenly put through my hair with minimum smell. I disliked the bottle as once i had hair dye on my gloves I couldn't grip the bottle properly due to the shape. It was easy to wash out, and i loved the thick conditioner, it made my hair silky. Once my hair dried naturally i was dissapointed as it was very patchy (I've been dying my hair for 15 years and never had this issue before). Also my hair needed a seperate hair treatment as it dried my hair out. so over all a 3/5

Tips: Make sure you use all the conditioner
I used this brand for the dark blonde colour and it is not permanent. It comes to a faded colour after about 3 washes. I even try to leave it in for as long as I can however it seems to make no difference, I still end up seeing my light blonde hair underneath it. I would definitely recommend a different permanent dye if you want it to last.
I have been dying my hair for years from blonde to dark and vice versa. I found that this dye was great and it didn't fade to quickly which i have had with previous dyes. the conditioner made my hair lovely and soft i would definatly use this brand again.
My hair is really bad at holding color and also it is damaged easily. When I use this product it hold really well I only have to die it again when my regrets becomes too much. It leaves my hair looking and feeling amazing
So I decided to change my hair from blonde to brunette, something I have done a few times before. Loving the 'frosted chestnut' colour I grabbed some Olia. I left the colour in the stated amount of time but I could tell almost instantly upon drying my hair that the colour hadn't taken very well. I left my hair a few days, washed it once in that time and decided to use the same colour again thinking maybe it was something in my hair as it was fairly blonde. So again the colour started to fade out and after a week looked very dull. Gutted as I loved the colour on the box!! Anyway have since used a similar shade in a different brand and have had no problems at all. Would not use again.
I had been using Garner Olia in the coolest light blonde shade for about a year when I first heard about it. It sounded like a miracle product that wouldn't damage my hair as much as other hair dyes I've used in the past. However the last few times I used it to do my roots it ended up leaving my hair blue and purple! I was shocked and very upset! I immediatly became turned off to this product. After a week the purple color began to fade but it wasn't worth the wait.
Tips: If you are a blonde or going blonde with this product make sure you know there's a possibility that your hair won't react positively.
An amazing formula, absolutely no drips whatsoever... not one! It feels and smells great. The bottle is designed really well so that you can open it up and scrape every last drop, which I like because I've got long hair.
But I was disappointed with the colour (Frosted Chestnut). I just felt that it wasn't very strong and didn't develop enough. The 'if your hair is this colour, it will look like this' blurb on the box was misleading, as my hair doesn't look anything like the box says, despite my original hair colour being one of the 'before' colours on the box.
That said, the whole experience is worth it if only for the way my hair feels and smells! I think this is from the conditioner - you get 54ml! Amazing!
I would buy this brand again, but I would get a different colour. Amazing value for a $10 special at New World!
Tips: Unscrew the bottle to get ever last drop out. I love that you can do that!
I picked this hair dye up in BRs Beauty vault last month. The biggest appeal for me was that it was Ammonia free. I also chose this colour thinking my hair had grown out enough to be dyed light brown, sadly i was wrong, no fault of the hair dye, just my poor judgement.
The box is pretty darn big compared to others but when opened I realised why, 3 tubes, an oval applicator bottle and instructions leaflet with gloves. The box is clearly labeled with what to expect to find inside, how your hair may turn out depending on your current shade, first aid on the side and most importantly on the front the shade. Upon opening the box the first thing i did was read the instruction, which i usually don't bother doing due to the fact I've been dying my hair at home for so long now I think of myself as somewhat of an "expert". The instructions clearly state how to mix and what to mix in the applicator bottle. How to dye your hair if it's a first time all over dye or just for re-growth. For myself I was doing an all over dye.
In the back of the box there is a neat wee punched out hole that you can place the applicator bottle into while you put the contents of the developer cream and colour cream into it...Handy! With a good old shake for 2-3 minutes I was satisfied everything was mixed together and ready to apply to my hair. On went the gloves, which were black and not overly oversized like some you get in home dye boxes. When i started applying the dye to my hair the first thing I noticed was the smell, not over powering chemical smell but a floral smell which made applying pleasent. the secongd thing I noticed was it wasn't dying my scalp, nor did it dye any skin around my neck or ears that it came into contact with.
I left this in for 30-35 minutes, jumped in the shower and procceded to rinse the dye out. once the water was running clear and I was sure all dye was out I reached for the Multi-application conditoner. Yes thats right Multi-application, so not only was I going to get the one wash from the amount in the tube but several, and I did, 3 infact. The conditioner itself came in a tube not a foil packet! wha hoo!!
Overall once my hair was washed out and dried I was pretty satisfied with the result. It dyed my hair light brown but sadly for me my judgement thinking my hair was light enough for it was wrong. My ends were still quite dark so my hair ended up looking rather silly! Light on top dark ends!
I dyed my hair dark brown three days later sadly not with the same product as my local supermarket didn't have the shade I was after. Garnier Olia rrp is around $17 pricey but you definetly get what you pay for and I think thats quality.
A+ product!
Loved the intensity and long wear of this product. Easy to use and made my hair smell and feel great. Left a gorg shine to my hair. The conditioner that comes with it is amazing.
I really liked this product, mainly because it is ammonia free. I like to keep an eye on what I put on my skin and hair and I have found it difficult to find a permanent, ammonia free hair dye. The smell isn't too bad either, which is another problem I have had with other hair dyes. I did find that the colour continued to rinse off in the show long after I had initially died it which was disappointing. However, I would use it again purely because of the gentle formula.
