Before I used the Garnier Olia Intense Red, I had pre-dyed my hair dark brown, then a friend bleached the ends so I could get a better intense colour from the Olia and a look I had been meaning to try for a while. The bleaching ended up being 3/4 of the length of my hair and very dry, but when I used the Olia it surprisingly made my hair feel soft and healthy. When getting the Olia I was glad to see it was very easy to prepare, absolutely no ammonia, and very easy to apply. The fragrance was so nice, and the shine I got from it was awesome. My hair is still looking very shiny and an amazing colour 1 week later and one big thing for me is that I am not getting the dye run like I get from other home dyes. It is definately a shade of red I love and will be happy to use over and over. Well worth the money. I am using the Garnier Colour Last shampoo/conditioner to really look after my hair this time and am loving the results.

Tips: Results are definately going to be different depending on the colour your hair is so think very carefully and maybe get a second opinion before going to dramatic with colouring. Otherwise have fun and love your colour!!!
I hadn't coloured my hair for about 18mnths before using this. I picked a shade that was pretty close to my natural colour but went a shade darker. I did the patch test and did get a little itchiness after about 24hrs but decided to go ahead anyway as it wasnt too bad. Apart from the box falling apart when I tried to put the bottle in the slot for mixing, it all went really well. My hair feels great and there was no harsh chemical smell. It also provides you with a deep conditioner which should last for a few washes. Overall, very happy with results, it did cover all my greys which makes me even happier! It was easy to use and not very messy at all. The colour is rich and very natural looking. I would definitely use this again.
Tips: Make sure you punch out the hole in the box BEFORE trying to put the mixing bottle in it. I had my hair cut first just to make sure I didn't waste any of the product.
Huge box with a really cool developer-colour bottle really easy to grip and squeeze out great idea with the hole in the box to hold the bottle.Good amount of conditioner to follow up with.I was really surprised at the nice floral smell no eye watering nose hair burning smell just lovely like a conditioner.I have long thick hair I used one packet but it wasn't enough so come payday I raced out and got another one.First thing I did when I got home was start mixing the colour then in my hair I did find it hard to work through hair but I got there wait 30 mins then wash out and use conditioner supplied so exciting could hardly wait for my hair to dry.I asked hubby how does it look any better answer I don't now your looking in the mirror. I love love love the colour it's darker than what I expected but really nice and rich colour. My hair feels and looks so much .The dye wipes off your face, ears and neck easily with a baby wipe I also spilt some on the carpet and didn't see it for two days so I grabbed a couple off baby wipes and it came straight out (phew) I am so glad I got to try this my hair looks great thanks BR your awesome I love this colour deep violet ♡would definitely recommend it is one of the nicest, kindest dye of all the ones I have tried !!!
Tips: If your hair is longer than shoulder lenght you will need two boxes but it's worth it. ♡♡
I have been dying my hair black for a few months now and with other brands the colour always fades to a dark brown after about 5 washes which isn't ideal as I wear clip in extensions alot so I need the colour to match. But with this dye I haven't really had any colour fade at all after about 10 washes. Will definitely be purchasing this dye from now on!
I was lucky enough to be selected by BR to trial this product. I have been using the Garnier Nutrisse for several years now, and although I do love it, the smell was always off putting. Garnier Olia has a fantastic smell!! Gone are the days of ammonia and having to dye my hair in a well ventilated space! The applicator makes this super easy to use and the conditioner it comes with smells lovely and lasts at least 2 washes for me and I have waist length hair. I've washed my hair 3 times since trialling and have seen no fading and I find the colour (black) to be a bit more intense than most dyes which I really like. I think this will become my new favourite and I'll be giving up Nutrisse for Olia - once you've dyed your hair with a product containing no ammonia I don't think you can go back!
Tips: Vaseline around the hair line - this dye stained a spot on my forehead quite badly!
I was lucky enough to be selected to trial this - thanks BR! I chose the colour violet - which is a deep reddish purple shade.
Like other at home dyes I have used, this comes with products that you disperse into a container (this is provided), and then shake to blend before putting on your hair.
I used this for only the top half of my hair, as I have pink on the under side of my hair. This was just enough to completely dye the top half of my hair, but I would definitely need another box to dye my whole head of hair. It must be mentioned though, that my hair is quite long and thick so if you have shorter or thinner hair then one box might be enough for you.
The application was really straightforward and not really different to any other at home dyes, although the little that comes with this is really ergonomic and simple to use. I also love that the box has a perforated hole where you can place the bottle so this cuts down on accidental staining.
The instructions were really simple to understand and they tell you how to dye either your whole head or how to touch up your roots, which is thought was helpful.
The main thing that makes this superior to other at home dyes though, is the scent of the dye. Too often hair dye reeks of ammonia which is not pleasant whatsoever. That isn't the case with this - this dye has a really nice kind of mucky floral scent which I really enjoyed.
Like other dyes, this comes with a conditioner that you use in your hair once you have rinsed the product out. Unlike other dyes though, the conditioner is a large tube and you can use it for more than one washing of your hair which I thought was great.
Because I still have black in the mid to ends of my hair, the purple is a lot deeper there than it is on my virgin hair. In saying that though, I was impressed that this even showed up over the black. I really like the colour (it ranges from a mid purple to very deep purple which looks black under low light). I have washed my hair a few times since using this and even though product is bleeding when washing my hair, it doesn't look to have faded much (if at all), in my hair.
Overall I think this is an excellent dye and I would purchase it again except it would be slightly more expensive for me as I need at least 2 boxes of this to dye my whole head. I think the price is just a little expensive but I would choose this dye over any other dye that is available at the same price point.
Tips: ALWAYS patch test the day before dyeing your hair, even if it is a brand or dye you have used previously and had no problems with!
The consistency of the dye was okay once the bottles were mixed but I found the applicator bottle a little hard too use, in fact I ended up squeezing most of the dye into my gloved hands and spreading it on that way. The scent wasn't strong and I didn't feel like I was smelling of hair dye for days afterwards as can sometimes happen with other products. The coverage was really good though, I have long hair and found that one pack was enough to cover all my hair really well. The conditioner that was supplied has been really good as well, I used a lot after rinsing the dye out and have used it a couple more times since, my hair really appreciates it! Price and Packaging were as to be expected, nothing out of the ordinary from other dyes. The results weren't as good as I expected though, I did feel like the grey hairs weren't covered at all even though I followed the instructions of putting the dye at the front first. The colour wasn't too different from my natural colour and I haven't had anybody make comment about the change. I don't think I would recommend to friends looking for good grey coverage, however, as a pick me up for your hair it's a good product to add a bit of shine.
Tips: I found it easier to do the ends of my hair by squeezing the dye into my gloved hands and spreading it that way.
I was fortunate to get this in a trial. I chose Deep Red. The packaging is cool! The mixer/application bottle is a great shape, fits in the hand nicely & gives great control with application. The mouth is wide so it's easy to get the product into it. The tubes for the products are easy to get to get every last bit out of. The instructions are easy to follow. The conditioner is beautiful, smells great, it left my hair silky & there's heaps of it. I got about 4 washes out of it & my hair is shoulder blade length. The colour formula itself was just enough to cover all my hair. It didn't smell great but it doesn't have that horrible chemical smell that some have. While in my hair it went knotty and felt rough. I could not get a comb through it. Washing it out was a bit of a mission. I spent possibly 20 mins rinsing it & the water still didn't run clear but that's fairly normal I feel for reds. It was a 3rd wash before I had clear water. The coverage was even however after 1 wash my greys were showing & after 3 washes the colour faded quite a bit. I think it did improve the condition of my hair which was very dry & brittle due to having previously been blonde (I was brunette before applying this colour) however I wouldn't use it again due to the colour just not really lasting.
Tips: If going Red don't wear light colours with wet hair as it will bleed onto the fabric. The mixture is a little runny so it would pay to stand on something to catch any splatters or drops.
I couldn't hold my excitement in when the Garnier Olia hair colour arrived. I quickly got right into it. I put on my hair dye-shirt and started to read the instructions.
The instructions where set out clearly with well illustrated images for those who don't read and were to the point. I put on the professional looking black gloves on and mixed the product. I must admit that there was no overwhelming smell, the one that burns your nostrils. After leaving the product in my hair for the stated time. I quickly went to rinse it off and apply the multi-application conditioner. Then for a final rinse and to begin to style my hair.
I found that when combing my hair it was easy to do so very little tangles. After blowing my hair to finally reveal the true colour........I am very excited with the colour outcome, a deep vibrant red. My hair feels ultra soft and gleams with a gorgeous sheen.
I love the fact that you are provided with enough silk and shine conditioner for future shampoos.
My only concern is that every time I am in the shower the water still continues to run red. Knowing that when it does so my vibrant colour is slowly losing its vibrancy.
Tips: Garnier to sell a shampoo in the Olia range for dyed hair especially red hair as the colour does tend to wash out rather fast.
I have had Deep Red in my hair for a week now and I am so impressed.
It was simple and quick to mix together & apply to my hair. No real chemical smell which I was grateful for. I wasn't so happy with the gloves in the box for use but they did the job but for me they didn't accommodate long fingers to well. Washing out the creme was a breeze it did stick to my scalp a little but within 2 days it was fine.
The conditioner supplied is quite a lot and a week later a several washes later I'm still using it with my colour protect shampoo too.
Normally with other dyes after a week I can start seeing my grey hairs in places yet with Garnier Olia my hair is still red and no signs of greys anywhere.
I think I have found my new fav brand when dying my hair at home, I've even got a friend trying it now today after seeing how awesome it is.
Tips: Follow the directions... & to keep colour well use colour protect shampoos.
