I bought this one month before before last (second to last dye), as I went to buy my Salon Live Oleo but my shade had sold out. I bought this one because my usual one is also oil based, and I noticed a change in my hair since switching from regular dye- much softer and silkier and the colour is shinier. Now while I will still apply the softer, silkier, shinier to this, is also burnt my scalp to oblivion. That happened when I used a regular Garnier dye a couple of years ago, so maybe my skin just does not like whatever Garnier use, but man did this burn! I had a weeping sores on my head. Ugh. That never happens with my salon Live Oleo, just that one time I used this, and a couple of years ago- again, regular Garnier. I gave this a three on "Did it do what it said it would?" because as I said, the oil based dyes really do make your hair a lot nicer, but my hair feels better after my regular dye and it leaves me sans chemical burns- which I always find a plus when I'm purchasing products! My other dye also had a richer, more intense colour, which I prefer, it's easier to brush and the finish is just nicer. I do feel I should point out a couple of plus factors about this and other about oil based dyes, is they don't stink or leave that gross smell in your hair. Much more pleasant than regular dye. I also really liked that this came with a massive applicator bottle. It's super easy to mix up and use. It's a shame my skin doesn't like it.

Tips: Wash this out as soon as you feel that slight itching. It leads to a sting, which leads to a burn, which leads to an ugly weeping sore. Do not, I repeat DO NOT brush your hair or apply product after developing said sore, because it friggin' hurts.
I haven't used a hair dye out of a box in about 2 years and decided to give this a go a couple of weeks ago, I was mainly interested because of the ammonia free aspect and it was only $10 at the local supermarket as a 'new product special'
I chose the violet colour as it was a little bit different but not too outrageous as my hair was just brunette at the time.. I love the design of the packaging and love the design of the applicator bottle! It was super easy to use and I noticed that I used all of the product out of the bottle instead of having some that I couldn't get out at the end which is what usually happens.. The gloves fit really well, they're usually much too big for me, even though I don't have particularly small hands but these were perfect :)
I love that there was no chemical smell, it actually smelt really nice! There was also none of the slight sting that I normally get from hair dyes as I have a sensitive scalp because of this..
After I washed the dye out I didn't notice a huge difference which I thought may be due to my hair still being wet, however even after my hair dried I noticed that even though it was supposed to be a 'vibrant' colour it wasn't super coloured.. This may be due to the fact that I have long, slightly thick hair and I did only use one bottle!
I think I will use this product again when I'm a bit tight for money but I have regrowth that I need to hide, but next time I'll use more than one bottle of it and hopefully that helps out with the colour problem :)
Tips: If you have longer, thicker hair then use two bottles! Even though it feels like there's a lot of dye in your hair it takes a lot to really get the colour in.. :)
fantastic smelling product that was easy to apply. nice liquid-y formula that spread easily but didn't drip or run. As a chronic self dyer I have tried virtually very dye product on the market and this is my absolute fave. Left my hair feeling super soft but without that big puffed up feeling that can come in the first few days after a new colour. Manageable, smoother and with really nice shine that I found lasted well beyond the first few weeks. Colour result was not as intense as more chemically options and did fade a little quicker (felt like I needed a refresh after 4 weeks instead of the usual 6) but came out exactly as represented on the box. Great product
Tips: beige blonde colour gives great natural result, especially if trying to tone back a brassy/orangey disaster!
This was the first dye i have used that didn't have an overpowering chemical smell.
However the red colour i used wasn't very bright and didn't seem to last as long as other at home dyes.
The price is also twice or more the amount of other dyes which is less than desirable
Lots of wash out aswell with this colour but as expected with home dyes and a red colour so im not too picky about that as many others do it too.
The package was easy to use and the bottle etc made it easy to apply and not make mess if doing it on your own
Tips: Would reccommend getting two packets if your hair is past shoulder length as i feel this product was lacking, and i may almost have not had enough product to colour all my hair.
I love the brand itself, I guess its my mistake by choosing the wrong shade. my natural color is black for my hair and I bought light brown and I followed the instruction and waited for 40 mins ( since my hair is really stubborn ) when I washed it out it is stil black ( I should have bleached ) but my hair is shiny and soft thou, I gues that is quiet a bonus :) but other than the color it did nothing on me.
I decided it was time for a change and went out to get the box of the OLIA red dye... WHAT A MISTAKE!!!! As I sat waiting for it to develop I was hopeful that I was going to have fiery red hair the next day - BOY WAS I WRONG! What I ended up with was blotchy dark red and brown patchy mess! I burst into tears, knowing that it would have to stay that way as it was too risky to dye over it straight away. It stayed that way for over a week until a hairdresser relative of mine took pity and helped me get rid of it!
I have tried lots of different brands of dye, but out of all I find this one to be amazing, not only are the colours beautiful but it leaves my hair feeling soft and looking good. I am a fan of red hair and I find the red's they have amazing! The colour also lasts a while Ive noticed with my hair, colour's tend to fade fast but I have had this in my hair for over a month and its still looking new
Love this colour in my hair. I had to dye my hair because it currently looked a little lifeless and needed a little colour. Since my hair is already dark I went with violet to give it a highlighted look and something different other then dark brown.
I just recently dip dyed my tips and because I haven't maintain the look very well, I'm going to re-dye my hair ends again with Garnier Olia - Deep Violet to give my hair a fresher look again.
I have coloured my hair for years, roughly every month. When I saw thisj product offered an ammonia free solution I just had to try it. This product offers it all. Easy to apply, the product had a subtle fragrance not the horrrible ammonia smell I am used to. It offered good coverage with a natural looking colour and is priced to make it affordable for all. With outlets such as the Warehouse this product is affordable and readily available. Im sold!
Tips: Just read the instructions - easy as!
I loved this hair colour while i was using it! I had red hair, and i only needed to colour my roots every application and my whole head every 2nd application, because this colour stuck to my hair so well. It smells amazing and you get so much product in the packets!
Tips: If you have short hair, only mix up a small amount of this product as you get so much in the box, it will just go to waste! Mix it in a colour bowl and use a colouring brush and save the rest for next time!
