When I first started using the GHD straightener I absolutely loved it and thought it was the most amazing straightener ever. After shopping around and trying different brands I've settled on a Remington straightener which I feel works better on my hair.

Tips: If you don't get the results you want after you initially straighten your hair, leave it for a day and try again the following day and apply serum before straightening. Works a treat!
I just dont seems to be able to get my hair straight with these but Its me i think if I do other peoples hair I have more luck
I love this for a quick and easy straighten but it has damaged my hair in the long run. I will continue using this until it dies, but will probably try something else afterwards.
I have the rose gold version. I know the lower heat is supposed to be better for your hair but I find I have to go over and over the same piece of hair to get it really straight (which is probably just as damaging). The old school ones at the gym get much hotter and do a better job, in my opinion. That being said these are excellent quality and will last a long time - my previous ones lasted many, many years. They are an investment, but you get what you pay for. Love how quick they take to heat.
In the bad old days pre-GHD I used Remington straighteners and it would take me an hour to do my long fine yet wavy hair - and even then I would be left with a bit of a frizz bomb.
GHD's are a million times better than this - it only takes me 10 - 15 minutes to do my hair! However there is still the odd kink and bits of frizz, it never ends up as sleek as my hairdresser can get it - even when I used GHD branded hair product.
Despite this I think they're pretty darn fabulous - I wouldn't go back to the Remmies that's for sure!
Tips: My hairdresser said to section off a bit of hair then run the styler over it a few times to get it salon straight.
Ever since I bought my first GHDs I have been in love, I would never consider using anything else. I would like to try and smaller ones with curved plates for curling though as I have never quite mastered the technique with my flat plated ones.
Tips: Definitely use a heat protectant and a serum.
I like my hair to be very smooth and straight i find the classic does a much better job at it then the gold classic, the gold classic plates are designed to be able to curl easier by gliding through the hair, i find it takes longer to straighten my hair with it
I really like this product, being a hairdresser i used these a lot on clients, the plates are so smooth so they glide through the hair and leave a nice finish. Also great for curling as they glide through hair which makes it easy and hassle free!
I do love my GHD's they last for ages, have had mine for years. I do wish that they would introduce a temperature control setting as I have such fine fine hair I would like to be able to turn down the heat. I haven't used them as much lately because of this.
So I have an old GHD still in very good working condition and I love it for when I'm feeling keen on a straight day. I recently spend a few weeks at my mothers and thought no point bringing it with me she has a brand new one. It doesn't straighten and smoothly and quickly as the old one, I think they have change the coating? And rumor tells me its not the same people. I also am not keen on the fact that it only has on temperature setting as its just extremely hot or nothing and I have brunt hands and ears multiple times with it. I do like that you can curl and straighten with them though.
