When I asked for this product to be added to the BR brand directory I didn't realize what a mouthful the name was until I was typing it out. I purchased my shampoo off of iHerb for roughly $7 USD, and you can imagine my surprise when I saw it in Farmers for $25 NZD! I couldn't believe the markup and I was insanely glad that I had bought it overseas.
The shampoo comes in a purpley brown bottle, and it ombres from a purpley silver to the purpley brown. Purpley! It looks like something I would find in a hair salon for squillions of dollars, yet I got mine for not even half of a squillion. There is writing all over the bottle, colored shiny red or white, which I think compliments the bottle nicely.
The shampoo is a thick silvery white, which I assumed straight away was unicorns blood (thanks Harry Potter). It has a vague smell of coconut, though I'm sure it's not got any coconut in it. Upon looking at the ingredients, it does have coconut oil! It also has a lot of other oils that I love the sound of - Jojoba, Argan and Macadamia.
It lathers really well, but it does make my hair feel awful and ratty after I've washed it. The conditioner sorts that out quick smart though! I really love this shampoo, and now that I'm only washing my hair once a week it's lasting a lot longer!
I’m honestly not sure what made me buy this product. Perhaps because I saw it at farmers for $21.00 and then found it on I herb for a fraction of the price was something that made this buy a good idea. But either way, this was a product I had wanted for some time, even though I hadn’t heard or seen any reviews on this product.
First impressions of this shampoo? Well I have to say, I love the look on the packaging. This is something I imagine a high end hair care range looking like, it just looks sleek, and classy and it’s purple. The great packaging continues with the fact that this product is just easy to use. The packaging is soft plastic so it’s so easy to squeeze the shampoo out, and what’s better is the fact that the lid on this is super easy to open with wet hands, as well as being secure and water tight when the lid is close. Plus it sits upright in the shower easily even though the design is top heavy. Honestly, I would have to say look and function of this design has to be my favourite shampoo and condition design, ever.
So clearly I love the packaging, but what about the product itself? Well, let’s start by saying I’m in love with the smell. It smells sweet like vanilla, but not sweet, and it isn’t a smell that lingers after I wash my hair, but it’s so nice to use shampoo that doesn’t smell like the average shampoo. The shampoo is creamy white in colour and is quite thin, but has a lovely luminosity to it. I find that a little bit seems to lather up quite well, and actually cleans my hair really well as well.
Overall, Yes this is a product you need to try. I know it’s not really suited to my hair type, because although I want smooth and sleek hair, my hair is in fact actually wavy, and shampoo isn’t going to change my genetics. But I love the fact that doesn’t dry my hair out thanks to the fact that it has no sodium laureth sulfate which is something I didn’t realise when I first purchased this, but for this reason alone I would repurchase this product in a heart beat. Plus I love the packaging, and the smell and how this makes my hair feel. A Definite winner in my books.
Tips: Buy this off iherb for a fraction of the price. I think its around $6 off iherb.
