Brought this thinking it would help hubby's hair. What men take the time to condition???
Anyway, I was expecting his hair to look & feel softer.... Nope! So I thought I would give it a whirl twice. Oh heck, it's yuck! My hair felt dried & stringy. I wouldn't even put it as a back up.
I have long hair so it MIGHT be better for someone with short hair? Male or female of course.
I find that this shampoo does what it says, I use it on the occasional basis when I have a flaky scalp or dandruff. After using head and shoulders I feel as though my hair is clean and free of buildup. I must agree that the shampoo is quite stripping as my colour does seen to come out in the water a lot more when using this product.
I recently tried this as my hair was a bit dry due to the cold weather and can honestly say its done nothing for flaky scalp/dry hair. Little bit disappointed considering thats what this brand is made for.
I bought thus product while it was on special for $7.99 so that was a decent price for the size. Got it because I thought it would save time as I have long thick hair and takes ages to shamp/cond my hair so trying to cut corners/time. It seemed to be ok the 1st wash but subsiquent washes only succeeded in giving me dandruff and terribly itchy head, it seemed to just be building up on my hair. I had also dyed my hair and it seemed to strip the colour away as well. So I am sticking with color protect shampoo and conditioner and have to just put up with the time it takes to do a better job and keep my sanity by not having a itchy skull. (Exact opposite to what they said should do) all in all very disappointed in this product. ;(
I first tried this shampoo in my teenager years when my hormones played havoc and I've had troubles with my scalp, it was itchy, oily and I've had horrible dandruff. It did help a lot back then. I still like using it when I get dandruff or my scalp is itchy, it works most of the time, but if I use it continuously my scalp gets used to it so it stops working. That's why I have an on and off relationship with this product, since I turned 13 it was always in my bathroom, in every country I lived in and I have it here too, and this product can be found in all my friend's and family's bathrooms in Hungary too. I'm not sure I could say goodbye to it after so many years, not because I love it, but because it's something I've always had as a backup plan.
I have tried almost ALL the dandruff shampoos out there (including a whole lot of the head and shoulders range) and I am sadly always disappointed and this one is no exception. Did it leave me dandruff free? No. I noticed flakes in my hair almost immediately. It left my hair feeling like straw not to mention the amount of colour it removed :( It claims to sooth an itchy scalp but it really, really didn't do that. Also 50% less frizz? No way... it was frizzier than ever.
I never learn!
It's just so cheap and I hate spending heaps on my hair but so far medicated chemist shampoos are the only thing that can solve the embarrassing dandruff situation.
Well living at my nanas when I was a teenager this is her go to product. So I ended up using it everyday. It did reduce dandruff and itchy scalp with me I use to get it really bad, not anymore. But it did leave my hair more dry and frizzy, felt disgusting. so 50/50 with this product, definitly not my main shampoo and conditoiner though sorry nan :/
After i use this i find my scalp worse and my dandruff becomes more noticeable which no one wants. I wouldnt recommend it.
Most of my shampoo's and conditioners are purchased from my local supermarket. I normally buy from there because their prices are always affordable for a small family. Even with a large family you are guaranteed good value for your money. My normal supermarket is Pack and Save , but if I'm doing a spot of shopping at the mall then it would be Countdown.
My hair type is dry and damaged. I bought this because I had a scalp problem. The bottle is small sized. It lasts about 2 to 3 weeks dependent on use. The smell wasn't sweet but it was ok. It didnt work on the first week. Could see a slight reduction of scalp dryness. When I was using this it was on a daily basis. Its really good if you need to downsize on the amount of products you need when you are going away.
It did work for me eventually. But as soon as I stopped it had come back again. I think with frequent use it is very good to keep trying it.
Both my husband and I have used this with the same results - not alot! This brand has been around for ages and always claims to remove dandruff, but alas it didn't work for me. The only thing I like is that my hair feels really clean afterwards and smells good. But as for clearing up dandruff, it's hopeless.
