This is absolutely the best hair product you can buy at a supermarket. I have been a long time fan of L'Oreal's ELVIVE range, and this time I am once again very satisfied with the result! This shampoo comes in a reasonable size for it's price, sleek packaging with secure lid and dispenser. I like hair products that are easy to dispense in the shower, the consistency of this shampoo is thick and smells wonderful! I really dislike shampoo that are too runny and you lose half of it before it gets onto your head. This product lathes really well, and it leaves my head/hair feeling clean and refreshed. After rinsing the product out of my hair, I don't find my hair in a tangled mess which is a really big bonus for me. Even before putting on the conditioner I don't feel like my hair has been stripped off its moisture. I had really enjoyed this product and will definitely repurchase this in the future. After a couple of weeks use, I can see that my hair is shinier and less dry. And the most wonderful result is that I feel like my hair has gotten a lot thicker/stronger, my hair looks and feels so much healthier.

Tips: Use the conditioner in the same range for maximum results.
For an affordable shampoo this product is amazing. First thing I noticed was the smell, smells so good and it definitely lingers in your hair. Over the three weeks of using it I have noticed my hair is a lot smoother and shinier. Since going from brunette to blonde my hair has been very damaged, dry and dull so I was very excited to try out this product. I definitely think it has helped my hair. My hair feels a lot healthier now and I have even had compliments on how healthy my hair is looking. I definitely did not expect anything this good from a drugstore shampoo but this one blew me away. I think this product does what it says it does, it cleans your hair as well as treats it giving it life and shine. Definitely recommend this product.
First things first, my favourite thing about this shampoo is the smell. It smells absolutely divine like you have walked into a beautiful salon, and the smell lingers in your hair all day. I could not stop sniffing my hair after using the product! The packaging of this product also looks similar to salon quality although I disliked the colour red (that’s just a personal preference). The shape of the bottle is quite standard for shampoo but it works as it’s easy to squeeze out and it pours out the right amount you would want. The consistency of the shampoo is silky on your hands and it is white and look creamy. I found that you have to put quite a bit of shampoo on your palm to ensure that it really lathers up on your hair to get the best result. It leaves your hair feeling quite stripped (as do most shampoos) but following up with conditioner afterwards leaves it feeling nice and silky.
I blow dry and straighten my hair every day so my hair is quite damaged and I have tons of split ends! After about 2 weeks of using the shampoo (every second day) I did start to notice that the ends of my hair were looking much healthier and stronger. My hair was also nice and silky and shiny after every wash. The only thing it didn't do which it said it would was make my hair look fuller. I put this down to the fact that it made my hair silky and when my hair is silky it tends to sit quite flat.
Overall I was really pleased with the results and the smell of the shampoo is enough to make me buy it again as this is one aspect that is really important to me when buying hair products. I would recommend it to a friends, however only if they were actively seeking my advice on what to buy.
Tips: Apply quite a large amount of shampoo to the palm of your hand for it to really lather up in your hair
My hair has been dyed for years. It's long, thick, curly and fairly dry. After using this shampoo it's much smoother and silky.
I wouldn't say it's 'fixed' any damage, but my hair is more shiny and softer to touch.
The texture is of good quality and a little goes a long way. It has a pleasant smell.
Tips: Use a matching conditioner for best results.
This shampoo is pretty good - it has a nice smell, and the bottle is easy to open with slippery wet hands, which is a big plus! After using this shampoo for a while, I did notice I wasn't getting as many split ends and my hair did feel stronger! My hair is usually quite dull, but I did notice my hair actually looked much shinier after using this product. This shampoo gave a decent clean, but I noticed that my hair didn't last that long between washes, becoming oily just one day after washing. I don't generally have oily hair, but I found that I needed to wash my hair more frequently than usual and was using dry shampoo in between washes more often so I didn't have to wash it every day!
Tips: You'll definitely need to wash twice with this shampoo, as the first time it doesn't lather at all. The second time, it lathers really well.
This is now my number one favorite shampoo, I dye my hair all the time so my hair has always felt dry and lifeless, but even after the first time using this shampoo the difference was amazing, it done everything it said it would and the results were long lasting, I give this product a 10/10
Tips: Use with total 5 restoring conditioner for the best results
The packaging of this product is very crisp, it is a white bottle with red, black and silver detailing which gives it immediately an expensive look. After using it various times paired with the conditioner overall I found myself pleased with the product. I have shoulder length coloured red hair and I found although the product isn't specifically for coloured hair that it didn't result in any fading of colour. I only had to use about a dollop about the size of a 50c coin to lather my hair so a little goes a long way. The fragrance was nice and floral but not too overpowering. My hair definitely felt clean and strong and I've only had to wash it twice a week which is great.
Tips: The shampoo bottle is slightly smaller than the conditioner to account for using more conditioner with most washes.
The Elive Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo lathered really which only meant that you needed a small amount. I found that my hair was thoroughly clean when using the shampoo only.
The smell was not over powering and my hair definitely feels a lot healthier now, although I would skip using the matching Conditioner for a more moisturising one.
I have been searching for a decent shampoo and conditioner set for some time to address my hair issues, I was lucky enough to get to try both this shampoo and its matching conditioner in tandem with one another and I normally always buy the matching set. To try give the product a good tough challenge in repairing my hair I stopped using my other shampoo and conditioner immediately. I have all sorts wrong with my hair: dry flaky scalp, fly aways, frizzy in hot weather, oily roots and dye damage. I am also currently trying to grow out the dye at the bottom of my hair so I wasn't terribly fussed on whether or not it made a difference to it as salon treatments haven’t made a dent in that and it somewhat beyond saving. My focus has been the health of the new virgin hair coming through.
I normally wash my hair every second day but conditioning only on every fourth day. It took about a week for me to notice a distinct difference but that was surprisingly quick for me. Normally after washing my hair will be fluffy for a while which I did find at first when switching to this product but found my hair adjusted a lot faster than it had with my previous shampoo and conditioner. In about a week I was playing with my hair due to its increased softness (I couldn't help it!) even the damaged dyed hair was somewhat improved, so much so that for the first time in a while I actually wore my hair down instead of tying it up in a ponytail so I have definitely seen an overall improvement in the health of my hair, even the really damaged bits. There has even been an improvement on my scalp (which is somewhat miraculous given head and shoulders couldn't seem to fix it!?) and I've seen a great reduction in the dry flaky patch at the front of my scalp, my hair is neither dry nor oily and has found a great balance in between and reduced my fly away issues DRASTICALLY. As time has gone along it has only gotten better, the only thing I need to find now is suitable hair styling products to come afterwards
I didn't need any more than an average blob so it will probably match up in usage for whatever you use and however much you need for your hair as any other shampoo I will say though that it lathers quite well and I didn't find it necessary to go back for a second blob so you do get very decent coverage out of it.
It mid price range at the supermarket and because I have a bit of a thing for matching sets I ended up buying one of each of the entire range (figured I’d stick with the same brand, don’t they formulate them that way?) and have been impressed with the overall results of using not just the shampoo but extending into the rest of the associated products that go with it.
End result: I may actually end up a long term convert to this particular product as I've had the best results out of any range that I've tried (which now totals about 6 different brands now) while trying to search for a range that doesn't aggravate my scalp or make my hair go POOF!!
Tips: Tip: After all my searching seeming to be in vain to find a great product for my hair I seem to have found it but I do believe it was down to one thing alone........CHOOSING THE RIGHT PRODUCT FOR YOUR HAIR TYPE!! I first had to figure out what my hair type was (which I can thank my hairdresser for!) you need to be working with your hair and give it as much thought as you do your skincare products, figure out what it needs and then find the right match. This product has worked wonderfully for me but it may not do the same job for someone with a different hair type to me.
I was excited to try the L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Total Repair 5 Restoring Shampoo as I have been bleaching my hair for years and always need to use a repairing shampoo. The bottle is simple and professional looking and there is a decent amount of product inside. I only needed a small amount of product on my long hair (less than usual) as the shampoo lathered up a lot in my wet hair and went a long way. My hair did get clean fast and felt silkier as the bottle promised. My hair was a bit tangled afterwards but I usually get any knots out when I condition so I was not too worried at that point. The scent was pleasant, a usual shampoo smell. When my hair dried it did feel silky and smooth. My hairdresser even commented on how soft my hair was when I had my hair done by her later that day. I did find that it was very frizzy and dry though. Overall it is an ok product. I'll use it until I finish the bottle however I won't repurchase.
Tips: A little goes a long way.
