This is a really good hair dye if you don't want your hair permanently colored. When I put it on my hair it smelt alright and the smell wasn't too strong which I liked. After washing my hair and drying it my hair looked lovely and silky. The colour turned out nice and wasn't too dark. I would recommend this hair dye.

I loved this hair dye as a semi-permanent option (unfortunately it is one of the only semi-permanent options in my supermarket though) I found that the colour lasted a decent amount of time and didn't damage my hair too badly. I initially used this dye to try and restore some of the shine back into my hair at my hairdressers suggestion. I used a dark brown colour and I found it coloured over previous dyes well and also turned out true to the colour advertised.
I did however notice my shampoo stripped quite a bit of colour out of my hair and I often had brown water coming from my hair due to the dye running out. But that could be due to my hair type
I used this product last week to colour my hair. I haven't had any grey hairs yet so I can't comment on how well it colours those. However I can say that it definitely covered up all my past hair colours that I haven't cut off or grown out yet. I loved using this hair dye without the ammonia as I hate the smell of ammonia and it can sometimes make me itchy. All in all a great product.
Tips: Make sure you wipe of any dye that is on your skin right away as it is a bit harder to remove an hour later.
This is one of the better semi's out there. I won't use it again as I now have too many grey hairs and it is not effective in covering them at all, which is a shame. I used to use it all the time as it left my hair soft and glossy which I loved. I did find the colour didn't really last 28 shampoo's but as I kept wanting to try different colours it didn't matter to me at all. It comes with one of the best conditioning treatments ever, they should sell that on its own as far as I'm concerned. It's also good as it doesn't have that nasty hair dye smell, completely bearable and I never had any type of reaction to it, another plus.
I would def recommend this hair dye if you're not looking for a permanent colour. They have a very good colour range too.
I have used this product many times over the years but have only recently (past nine months) have returned using it again.
After having my hair Bleach Blonde I decided to grow my hair out and keep the natural, healthy look. This product helps me to achieve Shiny, Healthy looking hair without any nasty Chemicals.
I find permanent Hair Dye makes your hair look dull after a while and the ammonia makes it unhealthy.
This is one of the only Semi-Permenant Hair Dyes I can find on the market.
Easy Application, Lovely smell and the conditioner provided leaves your hair feeling so silky.
Will continue to purchase this product.
Tips: I use colour - Amber on my mousey Brown Hair to add a warm red shine to my hair
When i first dyed my hair with this my colour was amazing! but for about 3 weeks everythime i washed my hair (every 3 days) the colour kept washing out, and it just faded so quickle. Even using a colour protecting shampoo and conditioner. I dont think its value for money, and wouldnt be repurchasing
I have been using this product for quite a few years now. Since my gray hairs started appearing I have found this product works perfect for me. I have been back to the salon and had my hair coloured. I have gone back to Casting Creme. I only put the creme on my roots, then every other time I do my colour I put the rest through the ends for the last 10 mins. My hairdresser tells me that my hair looks good for colour, with no build up. I love the conditioner, leaves your hair feeling soft and glossy. There is always plenty even though my hair is thick and quite long. A great product, and it's temporary, so washes out gradually.
Tips: if using a dark colour, put moisturising cream round the hairline to minimize staining of the skin.
At 20$, I think it's a little over the value of the product. Ive only tried a dye of this series once, and it was going blonde > brown. The color didn't go on very strong (turned out a fair bit lighter than i expected), and faded very quickly. Also the product isn't as thick and creamy as I like my dyes to be, so it felt a little painful for my hair. In saying that, the range of colors they provide is quite good. Perhaps I will try one of their blondes in the future
I have been using this product off and on for a number of years, it's the only one I use if I want to go darker (I'll always go get highlights or balayage done professionally!). There are many reasons I keep going back to it. Firstly, I find it extremely hard to find a semi-permanent at home hair colour, but Casting Creme Gloss can be purchased at most supermarkets, pharmacies, The Warehouse and Farmers, although you might have to go to the later two to get the colour you're after. The colour is really easy to use, even for a hair novice, and I've managed to always be able to colour my hair with it myself without roping in a friend. I generally leave the product in for the recommended amount of time and it works well. I find the first couple of days it normally comes out looking a bit darker but then after a couple of washes it fades just enough to look really nice. When I had longer hair, I always used two boxes but with my current length (medium, just past shoulders) I was able to get away with one. The only downside I found to the product is I find it doesn't fade completely out, five months after I had last used it you could see regrowth coming in, which can effect results when lightening your hair. Overall, I would definately recommend Casting Creme Gloss. It gives a really good result at a great price, less than half what you would pay for the same result at a salon for a Global Hair Colour.
Tips: Definately use the conditioner that comes with it. It has a nice smell and makes your hair really glossy, and there's enough in the bottle for a few uses.
This is my fave DIY hair colour - and I've tried a lot!! I have long thick hair and always think I'll need 2 boxes, but I get through about 3/4 of the bottle and think 'now what am I going to do with the rest' (I just keep piling it on in case I've missed any spots). It lasts a lot longer than 28 shampoos - it seems more permanent to me and makes my hair SO SHINY!!! The conditioner smells BEAUTIFUL too - I wish I could buy it off the shelf!
Tips: Use aqueous cream around your hairline to make sure colour rubs off & remember when washing colour out: tint takes tint off - when rinsing off, dip your head under the water briefly then rub your scalp and hairline with your hair before washing out properly.
