Firstly, my favourite thing about this hair serum is that it's in a spray bottle, which makes it easy to apply evenly, without getting product all over my hands. I've tried this both on dry hair and wet hair, and it works well either way.
The serum has a pleasant scent and hydrates hair without weighing it down. I found it great for a freshen up, using dry shampoo on my roots and the serum from the mid-lengths to the ends.
I've mainly used hair oils to nourish my bleached ends in the past, but this was a winner for adding moisture without any greasiness. I'll definitely be buying more when my current bottle runs out.
This L’Oreal Elvive moisture plump serum comes in an easy to use, sturdy, lovely purple spray bottle. The label has a lot of numbers and words and it took me a minute to read and understand what exactly this product’s primary purpose is.
The label says it is a Hyaluronic replumping serum which will provide 10x more hydration to your hair. As someone who has used many hair products of all price ranges and purposes, I was intrigued and excited to try this!
I used this on my hair when it was dry and also when it was semi-damp after washing and before blow drying, spraying the mid-lengths to the ends. I have long, dark hair and use heat styling products, so my ends in particular definitely need constant hydration!
The spray bottle is easy to use and the product dispenses really well. It has a nice, almost fruity like scent, it’s pretty strong though and does stay on your hair for a long time. Something to note if you don’t love strong scents in your hair products but I didn’t mind it.
After combing the serum through my hair, I found it quite tricky to run my fingers through my hair even after the product had dried off. It felt like the spray created a barrier or some friction. My hair did feel slightly softer but it wasn’t the amazing result I expected.
I’m not sure if it could be a reaction to my shampoo or conditioner, or maybe the health of my hair, but this hair serum is not quite the one for me unfortunately. Perhaps I’d need to use it for a longer period of time to see if it improves on my hair.
I would probably recommend this serum to friends with much finer and drier hair.
Tips: Spray evenly over wet or dry hair, comb through and style as usual. Test out how your hair reacts to it by testing different amounts of the serum to use. :)
