I've used curly wurly a couple of times when staying at my elder sisters place. Personally, it's too heavy for my hair. If I over-oil my hair it gets bogged down and leads to skin break outs on my forehead. My sister on the other hand, swears by it. Her hair soaks it up and looks all the better for it.

Definitely got great results but found the bits of coconut in my thick hair a bit difficult to rinse out and needed a thick conditioner as it left my hair a bit matted.
Tips: Best used with super hot water
Having naturally curly hair myself I though I'd purchase this product to help keep my hair hydrated. This product smelt devine and I loved it. It made my hair feel so hydrated and didn't make my hair feel dry after using it unlike chemical shampoos. I always love Lush products as they are natural but are slightly more pricey. This particular Lush product worked for me and was definitely worth the extra buck I spent on it. The only problem I had was that it had bits of real coconut in it which made it rather difficult to wash out.
This product is recommended for those with curly hair (...hence the name). It is a really thick pink liquid (or soft solid?) with shredded coconut. Most importantly it smells like summer - coconut and vanilla.
I like the packaging - a tub, although seemingly annoying to use, is actually really good for getting the amount of product you want to use. It is quite hydrating through curly hair; I wouldn't say my curls were suddenly amazing, but my hair was soft and easy to manage after using. You do have to rinse thoroughly to ensure you get all the pieces of coconut out! I would definitely buy this again; it is a treat on my hair and it is always nice knowing what you are using is fairly natural and gentle.
Tips: Keep the Lush pottles after use; when you have five clean pots you can trade them in for a free fresh face mask!
I did like this product it made my hair feel so nice! I was however put of the product because of the coconut pieces in it and was quite hard to wash them all out
My hair is curly sometimes. Left to it's own devices, it can be wavy. Often I straighten it briefly to add shine, or curl it with a curler. This product might be called Curly Wurly but it's not just for curls!
Lush have a name for natural products that really work, and this is certainly all that and more.
Lush Curly Wurly comes in their classic lack screw top pottle. One of my fave things about this is that when you return 5 pottles, they simply gift you a free mask. They are encouraging both recycling and return custom, and it's awesome. The Lush logo and the graphic white font on the pottle clearly identified this as a Lush product, and as always the label indicating who made it, when, and when it expires is included.
The shampoo itself is glorious. It's a soft, pale pinky colour - almost a pink flesh tone - and it's a 'solid liquid' in that it doesn't run, but it's not a solid. You scoop out how much you want to use with your fingers, and go from there.
Curky Wurly is chick full of shredded coconut. The product largely dissolves/washes out but there can be the odd chunk of coconut left behind, so either comb your hair out in the shower before you get out to make sure, or simply rinse it thoroughly. I don't find that it's too much of an issue to clear the product from my mid-long, fine hair.
I dye my hair a lot so I'm always looking for hydrating, nourishing products, and this definitely takes care of my hair. Post-use hair is left soft, less frizzy and feeling healthy, with a faint tropical coconut scent.
That coconut scent is amazing, by the way. it's a natural, gorgeous coconut fragrance that surrounds you in the shower and lasts on your hair while it dries. It fades over an hour or so but you get to enjoy it while you dry your hair, at least.
I have gone back to this shampoo time and time again. It's a classic, and I recommend it highly no matter what your hair is up to.
Tips: Needs to be paired with a shine-enhancing conditioner for maximum results.
My hair is difficult to describe. First of all, its thick, so thick in fact that hairdresser comment on how thick my hair Is, and not even how thick my all my hair is, but how thick an individual strand of hair is. If your hair is thick enough to be noticed by an individual strand, you know it’s the real deal. Its not straight, but its not curly. It that awkward in-between stage and depending on how it dries it can be really curvy, or wavy. I have always been in denial about my hair, opting for straight and sleek shampoo options, thinking a shampoo could alter my hair and that has only resulted in a frizzy mess, so when I saw the great reviews on this product. I thought why not, if the straight shampoos don’t work for me, might as well give the curly ones a try, and I’m glad I did.
The curly wurly shampoo from Lush comes in that black little container like the majority of lush’s products, which makes sense because this product is too thick to comes out of the alternative option which is Lush’s bottles. This shampoo has the most amazing smell. Its smells tropical, and kind of like coconut, but not intensely coconut and there is also something else I can smell, but I can’t put my finger on it.. It’s kind of peachy in colour, and quite textured with a lumpy consistency (which I think is the coconut?), but it does feel lovely to touch.
I take a small scoop of this out of the container and rub it between my hands before applying to my hair. I apply this to my scalp and massage it around, pushing the lather down to my ends to give them a quick clean as well. Firstly, this product lathers really well, and cleans my scalp easily. I do find it quite hard to get rid of the lumpy parts, and when I rinse my hair out there’s a still a few lumps lingering in my hair, but I think that could be because I’m not rinsing my hair for as long as I should be.
The results of this shampoo are lovely. My normally frizzy hair has beautiful curls, like I can actually see the singular curls in my hair, although half my hair is still wavy, I feel like this shampoo suits my hair type more than most and can define the curls where there are curls. Mostly, I really enjoy using this and will finish of the pot. Won’t be able to repurchase this for a while because I do find it pricey for a shampoo so will try and find a cheaper alternative, preferably one that I can rinse out properly: D
I went into Lush with my Mum looking for something that could control my mane of Wavy, thick, and often frizzy hair. Humidity is not my friend.
I was recommended Curly Wurly, which legitimately has heaps coconut in it, this isn't a fake "coconut shampoo"
Whilst I do not like the smell, taste or feeling of coconut I was pleasantly surprised at the fact I didn't hate this product based on the fact it was Coconut. The scent is not overwhelming and you can barely tell afterwards that you used a coconut shampoo.
At first, I found using this shampoo a bit difficult... where did I start?I found the best way I to get a pea size amount and then rinse water through it and then apply to hair in a lather. Make sure to thoroughly rinse and rinse because I have been noticing coconut flakes in my hair which is not good for the greasy factor. The white flakes are also very noticeable against my dark hair, it would probably be far less noticeable on a blonde.
The packaging is traditionally Lush. In an easy to use black tub, which I prefer over the bottles! The tubs are very easy to stack and store which is great if you have not enough room or just too many products hehe ;)
In each pot you get a decent amount, I would say the pot lasted around 5 months for me. Which is great! Cheaper shampoos do not last that long on me, so definite value for money! You really don't need much
during the use of this product I did notice a better overall look of my hair, and better curls. I have repurchased this but next time I think I'll look into a solid bar!

I love lush, I have many products from them that I use every day. I have curly hair and cant use alot of store bought shampoos due to being allergic to detergents. I wanted to love curly wurly I really did, I love the smell and the way it makes my hair feel and it didnt react on my hands (yay). The only issue I had was no matter how long I washed it out for I couldnt get rid of all the flakes of coconut! Which wouldnt be a problem if it wasnt hughly noticeable in my very dark hair! I had people pointing it out to me at the gym (embrassing). I gave it quite a good go but no matter what I did I couldnt get rid of it all. So unfortunately I gave up on it and u probably wouldnt recommend to others.
This is a dynamite curl shampoo! As someone with fine, curly hair; I have always struggled to find a shampoo that can leave my hair feeling clean, without drying it out. I decided that the best thing for my hair would be to switch to a shampoo that used mostly natural ingredients, with no harsh chemicals to leave my hair feeling course and brittle. This is where lush comes in!
I purchased a tub of curly wurly and have never looked back! I love the way the coconut oil leaves my hair feeling soft after use, and how the sea salt helps define my natural curls. It truly is packed with coconut and leaves my hair smelling fresh all day.
I like the way it is solid and comes in a tub as it lasts forever! The only issue with this is that you have to be careful not to let water inside the tub when you are in the shower or it affects the shampoo.
After years of searching for the right shampoo, I am so glad I found Curly Wurly! Never again will I suffer from dry, limp curls as this shampoo provides all the moisture and bounce I need!
Tips: The solid shampoo can be difficult to work through your hair, so I recommend foaming it in your hands before applying.
