I am THE biggest advocate for Lush products. They smell delicious, they're natural and eco friendly, and the work...Most of the time. I have extremely dry hair, and was recommended this product. I haven't noticed much of a difference, and for my thinner hair, all R&B did was weight it down. The verdict: still love Lush, still love R&B, but would suggest trying something lighter for ladies with thinner, longer hair - or even a mask, as I've found these to have more visible benefits without the heaviness.

Lush R&B Hair Moisturiser Review
Lush R&B Hair Moisturiser Tame your mane with some smooth R&B stylings. The tropical butters and candelilla wax will help to moisturise and control frizzy, flyaway hair, but R & B works to soothe dry scalps, too, with calming oat milk. And once you smell the orange blossom absolute, your hair will well and truly get its groove back.

Tips: If you have thick, dense or curly hair - this is for you! If your hair is thinner and lighter like mine, try a mask or one of their sprays.
I have dry damaged hair from regular dye and after a recent dye it has almost sizzled it to dust and was in desperate need of added goodness I do have a serum which I love and works absolute miracles to my parched hair but it doesn't hurt trying new things "just incase" I brought R & B because I love lush and I love their products this I like but not love.
It comes in a black 100g pot it's a VERY thick light yellow cream it's quite strongly scented almost a kind of floral and citrus scent to it. So I was dying it give it a go and just put it straight into my dry hair.... Oops that was a mistake it was greasy and heavy I basically went and had a shower just to wash it out. The next time I used it in place of my regular conditioner and my hair still felt like I had just wet it or just used shampoo so I then used conditioner. on the plus side it does say on the pot "cools scalp that has been chemically treated" so I massaged some into my scalp because of a recent burning incident from some dye I was desperate to try anything it did work and soothed my poor scalp. I have also tried shampooing my hair then using the R&B and waiting 15 minutes then rinse and condition and notice it is slightly softer after I have dried my hair. But really I'm an impatient person and time poor with 4 kids so it's not really an ideal product for me
As I have fine hair, it definitely weighs it down and gives a thick oily texture to it. It certainly moisturises my bleach damaged hair, and leaves it feeling super soft!
I find that the smell is overwhelming, in a bad way. LUSH has a reputation for sweet smelling products, this is the opposite. It has a rotting orange smell to it, and is very strong in the sense that other people can pick it up and make comments which may not be very wise if you don't like the scent.
Tips: Works best on thick and/or curly hair, or as a conditioner substitute as long as you wash it off before you leave the shower.
I got given this product as a birthday present and was very excited to receive it as I went into Lush to buy it but it had sold out.
The packaging is classic Lush, the sleek and simple black pottle with the detailed and slightly tongue-in-cheek description on the label. There is a good amount of product in the container, and for the price I think it is a good deal. It lasted me basically a year, and I used it nearly every second day.
One reason it lasted me so long was that I did not use very much, which is the main thing you need to watch. A little definitely goes a long way in this case. I have lots of fine hair that tends to fly all over the place. I also tend to get lots of knotting at the nape of my neck. I use this product after I have washed my hair as I have found when I have used it on my hair when it was dry that it looked a bit greasy. After washing I get a pea sized amount and rub it between my palms to warm it up then I concentrate it on my roots and work my way up to my scalp. It is very calming for my scalp and makes my hair look smooth, and smell amazing!
I wouldn't say this is for everyone, but for me it is a winner and I would definitely use it again!
Tips: Use a pea sized amount on damp hair.
I have super thick and frizzy dry curly hair - I put this on after i get out of the shower (only a tiny bit) and run it through my ends. It helps with the frizz heaps - a lot tighter curls too! The only downside is that if you use too much, my hair appears oily and heavy. Also I am really not fond of the smell - its an off lemony citrus smell (not for me)! At first I was a little iffy about the price but because you don't use much - it will go a long way (but I have to ensure i use it before it goes off). The texture is veeeeeeerrrryy thick - so i have to rub it in my hands for a while before i put it in my hair. It is said to help with dry scalps but personally, i avoid my scalp because of the texture and how it can make it quite oily - its best to stick to the ends. Overall it does an amazing job - you just have to ensure that you use it right or over wise its an absolute failure.
Tips: Do not put it on dry hair - it will be an absolute mess. This is a lesson I learnt first hand haha!
My hair is quite fine, with plenty of fly-always if I'm not careful, so I always like to have a product at hand to help to tame them a little.
I found R&B to be a really great treatment for my hair - as long as I only use a very small amount at a time. It is quite thick in texture, which means that it can be quite heavy in my finer hair, so less is certainly more in this instance!
As I only use it in the ends, I can't comment on whether it leaves a build up on the hair / scalp, but I do find that it washes out of the ends without too much trouble.
The smell is divine, and a huge reason why I would repurchase it again in the future. It's a pretty strong tropical fragrance, so if you like that kinda' thing, I'd def. recommend giving R&B a sniff at least!
Tips: Warm a tiny amount between your fingers before applying it just to the ends of your hair. As others have said, I little bit goes a really long way!
This really is a love song for your hair. I'm a Lush girl from waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back, so how I ever missed this product I will never know. I am so glad that the Lush girls hooked me up with a sample and showed me the light! This was literally the first thing I bought in full size when my no-spend month ended, and what a good decision that was :D
Lush R&B might seem on the pricy side, at $26.50/100g, but you use a tiny amount each time, so it *lasts*.
The product comes in Lush's signature black tub, and is marketed as a 'hair moisturiser'. This is a brilliant description. It's not your typical 'put it in my hair and it instantly feels smooth' conditioner. It's a more heavy duty, core-out kinda thing.
The product is a lemony yellow, scented with orange blossom, and the consistency of homemade icing - butter and sugar beaten together. It's THICK. You can hold the container upside down and it goes nowhere. This is obviously great for travellers!
I have tried this three ways. I used it on dry hair, and it was okay but because my hair is fine and this is thick it weighed it down too much and made it a little greasier than I like.
I've tried it as conditioner, and find that I need another conditioner or to gloss my hair up a little and separate strands for brushing.
However, as a treatment, it's incredible. I massage a pea sized amount through my wet hair (lengths only, your roots don't need this much love!), twist it into a knot, and go to sleep (put a towel on your pillow!). In the morning, I untwist, and shampoo/condition as normal. Instant result. Using the product in this way gives me softer, silkier, BETTER hair. I can't be without this! It's a holy grail hair mask <3
I have heard people say that they use it as a conditioner - my hair was too damaged, but I hope that after regular use of this (I go 2x a week at the moment) I can try that too!
Tips: Lush are amazing for samples. Drop in, tell them some chick on the internet was raving about R&B and you'd like a sample, and they'll sort you out x
I think this is the second time I've written a review based on the ravings of one single beauty on this site. On a post in the forum this was mentioned in passing, and so the next LUSH order I did, I asked for a sample, pretty please. My manners got me one, and here we are today.
Obviously I only have a sample, but it's the same deal with all LUSH things - black pots, black lids, simple black and white stickers and sassy instructions on how to use the products. Inside the little tub is a delightful white cream, a hint of yellow colouring it. The smell is tolerable, it's a bit of a creamy citrus with a big ol splash of jasmine. It kind of smells like a balm you'd find in a hippy store, or something that's definitely all natural.
I use this in wet hair only - though I'm sure it can be used any way you like. For me, wet hair is easier to apply, and I don't use as much, and my hair doesn't go limp and look oily. Win win! Though my hair isn't that damaged, this was a saving grace when I had bleached my hair, and I would definitely buy a big tub!
My daughter and I both have long hair, which can sometimes become dry, fly away and fluffy at the ends. A lovely lady at Lush (Dunedin) recommended we give this a try to put some moisture back into our tresses.
After washing and drying my hair I warmed a small amount in my hands and smoothed it into my mid lengths and ends. (I use Lush shampoo bar Jason and the Argan Oil, no conditioner as it tends to weigh my hair down).
My hair looks sleek, smells great and with any left over residue on my hands I smoothed down the top and my fringe.
I was very sceptical as my go to product has always been Delorenzo Rejuven8 The Ends, but I really like R&B and will stick with it.
My teenage daughter is also enjoying using this product, she has beautiful long thick hair and it looks amazing with R&B.
Tips: Very moisturising so less is definitely more. Start with less than you think you'll need (size of a pea is a good place to start), and adjust to the length and needs of your hair.
I get dry hair from blow drying and straightening my hair. I thought I would try this product because I love lush and most of their products I enjoy. The smell is amazing. The texture is like a thick moisteriser. I put it onto the ends of my just washed hair. Once my hair was dry my ends were all greasy and yuck from the r&b. I could barely brush it too! It did not condition my hair at all nor did it help tame the frizz.
Tips: Use a tiny bit on wet hair
