When I received this brush and tried it for the first time I already knew I wanted to give it 5 stars. However to be fair and give it a good trial I wanted to test the brush in different ways, one which involved my 9 year old daughter.
The first thing I noticed was how light the brush was and such a great shape which made it super easy to hold and at the same time comfortable to use. The design is super cute but professional looking at the same time.
Test 1: Little Miss Avalon's Hair - The first time I tried the brush, I used it on my little girl. The reason I signed up for the trial was because of her. Her hair type is of a medium thickness and gets super knotty. It was easy to use on her hair, and usually she complains about her hair hurting no matter how gentle I try to be. She hardly complained and it did a very good job with her hardly flinching. Result: There was hardly any complaining what do you think? lol
Test 2: My Hair - Dry: Next I tried the brush on my hair when it was dry and I had just woken up, so it was kind of bird nesty and knotty. The brush was able to glide through the hair without hardly causing me to flinch. A couple of times it did catch and pull a bit but nowhere near as my usual Avon brush. Result: Very good on dry knotty hair.
Test 3: Wet/Washed Towel Dried Hair: Firstly I washed my hair (using the same products I always use to make sure I wasn't doing anything different than I normally do). After towel drying I used the brush and it just went through smoothly, no knots and it was fully brushed in about a minute. Pretty impressive.
Test 4: Used After Hair Drying: Now here is the true test. Usually when I dry my hair with a hair dryer it literally has a mind of its own and just looks like a big hot mess. Apart from a few pulls here and there, I hardly noticed I was even brushing it and I had to keep checking that it was even brushing my hair. And it certainly was.
Overall Results: This brush is amazing and is now our Holy Grail brush.
I highly recommend you get this brush for you, for your kids, for whoever. At this price it is a steal. Thanks so much Beauty Review for inviting me to trial this brush, we love it xx
So de-tangling brushes. Why did they take the handle away? There must be some reason right? I mean the difference has always been in the teeth/bristles - they're designed to gently untangle knotty hair right? But who decided the trade off for pain-free detanglement was the comfort of a handle?!
Thankfully Mita have returned sense to the world of our hair's sensibilities. We can now have the best of both worlds - a fantastic detangler and a handy-handle.
The paddle is a great size and tackles a large area at once, its also curved to hug your head. It does actually feel quite lovely on the scalp.
The teeth are varying heights and compared to my official Tangle Teezer, the Mita brush offers more teeth per square inch. You can definitely feel the difference, its less snaggy, less pull-y.
The handle really makes a huge difference, honestly I can't remember a time I didn't drop my palm sized detangler at least once per brush.
This works equally well on dry or wet hair, and on the latter, hair dries smoothly and frizz-free.
For $20 you really can't go wrong. I really, really recommend this brush.
Tips: erm, buy it? Seriously, its flawless, I can't really offer any tips to make using it better. Buy it, brush your hair, and feel the difference!
