Moroccanoil Moroccan Oil was the first ever hair oil I tried. I purchased it after being recommended it for my hair, which at the time had many highlights through it so the lengths were very dry and damaged. I have naturally quite normal hair in thickness (not thick or fine) but tend to get an oilier scalp with dry lengths and ends, and have always had trouble with split ends.
I applied this to the lengths and ends of my wet hair after washing. You really only need a small amount of this, and I found my bottle lasted me almost a year.
It left my hair sooo soft and shiny and converted me to being a hair oil fan. At the time I was straightening my hair most days as well, so would also use this on dry hair to add a little moisture back in, rubbing a small amount between my palms and smoothing it over my hair. This also helped heaps with taming pesky flyaways.
I also LOVE the smell of this which is quite incensey and lingered on the hair, it helps make it feel like your hair is getting a really luxurious treatment when you use it.
I'm not that big a fan on the packaging of the Moroccan Oil. I've since used hair oil in both spray and pump forms as well as the screw cap bottle, and I much prefer them as I find it's too easy for the oil to come pouring out of the bottle so you can end up using more product than you needed.
I probably wouldn't purchase this again purely due to the price factor, I found for my needs that other oils such as L'Oreal Mythic Oil worked just as well on my hair. I would still recommend it to others based on the quality of the product, it really is fantastic.
I can't get enough of this product, there are several alternatives which I have tried which are cheaper and very close in texture/consistency and results but nothing quite compares to the original formula of this serum. Yes it is full of silicones, but my hair seems to love them, and they don't seem to build up as badly as other products I have tried - the product seems to wash away easily with your next shampoo yet leave behind it's conditioning effects at the same time. I am addicted to the smoky balsamic slightly vanilla tinged incense like fragrance of this product, I would love a perfume in the same scent it is just divine. It makes my hair look and feel amazing and I even use it as a hand treatment sometimes. I also use the light version which I purchased last time (I have fine hair) but don't notice alot of difference and will go back to this original formula next time. Pricey but since it is the only hair treatment/product I use other than shampoo/conditioner I make the splurge as it is my one expensive luxury must-have and it is worth the money to me! A large 100ml lasts me close to 6 months anyway so it does last quite a long time!
