I have tired many different brands of hair dye over the years. I found that this brand wash out of my hair a lot quicker than other brands. I generally use highly recommended shampoos & conditioners for dyed hair but it did not seem to make a difference with Napro Palette Intensive Caring Colour. I felt as though my hair was 'coarse'. I am not sure if it has to do with a women's hair type? or genetics? as to which hair dye suites who best but I did not find this to be one of mine :(

I used this once in the colour Rosewood Violet 5-99 in my crusade (and ongoing as we speak) to find the perfect shade of red for me. Whether light or dark it doesnt make a difference I'm on a mission.
The dye is probably the cheapest you will find in a supermarket, department store etc but it was not the price that drew me, but the intense violet shade on the box. I was inlove and there was no holding me back. I tried the violet red in the Garnier Olia but I was hopelessly disappointed in the dark (no red) pigment and the fact that it washed out quickly. So I was having medium to medium well hopes for this one.
Opening the box I was shocked because there is literally a smidge of colour developer in the bottle and not nearly enough colour creme. The smell was quite chemical and pungent which I hated but on I went. The colour was not enough to fully saturate my hair, but thinly spread it went a long way. The creme was not thick and rich as you get with other home dyes so I worried that I wasnt going to get any colour through my hair.
I let the colour develop for about 1 hour (maybe a bit more), and I'm pleased that I didnt have any itchy scalp like I always get from dyes with ammonia. I got some of the colour on my skin but it cleaned up great and no purple residue after my shower.
Rinsing was not great because it took about 3-4 shampoos and then conditioner to get all the red out of my hair.
By the time I had rinsed I was so fed up that I chose this dye that I already couldnt wait to re-colour my hair, but then the twist occurs. I blowdried and GHD my hair and my oh my the colour was PERFECT. It was really the most intense violet I had on my hair and the lasting power was really great. You can go a few with outstanding colour.
So my frustration is do I re-purchase when I hate the colouring process, but absolutely love the colour result? I have not decided yet, but I would say if you dont have long hair and dont mind spending the entire day in the shower for an intense violet the by all means this is the colour for you. Should I re-purchase I would need 2 boxes for my hair length which is past my shoulders and middle of my back. Its not a bad colour at all and if you are looking for great violet then this is for you.
Tips: If you have a hair length that is past your shoulders 1 box will not be enough for you. Buy 2 or more boxes depending on hair length.
The quality of the dye is not great by the colour pay off is amazing which still boggles my mind.
If your hair is dark when applying a violet colour, you will need to leave it for longer than 30 minutes to see any visible results. Dont worry, you wont lose your scalp :)
Wow what can I say about this... Firstly, I love the price and also it has a decent color range even though I have only ever used the blonde. I love the smell of this hair dye it doesn't smell as bad as other brands. I have found that it lasts on my hair for four weeks before ny hair started going warm tones.
I tend to buy this product when i'm a little short on cash and really need to fix the colour in my hair! I like the range of brown they have and I use them on the underneath of my hair, the colours always fade out to quite a nice colour too which is an added bonus. I also find this colour doesn't ruin my hair so much (but i am not using the blondes)
I used the #1 black colour from the Napro Palette range. I found the product had a few things I didnt like such as the formula was too thin, and it didn't cover all of my shoulder length hair. Also I found the chemical smell to be super overpowering, I could barely breath. And the gloves didnt fit.. But the bottle it comes in it easy to use !
The results I got were actually quite good, I had bold/dark shiny hair but only for the first two weeks. Then it faded and left my hair looking dull and lifeless. This is one of the cheaper colouring ranges out there and with the mediocre results I got I wont be going back for seconds.
This is always my go-to hair dye when I am going from a disaster blonde (which I have had many over the years) back to a brown. If I have a rather "yellow" emergency and don't feel like trying to get to a nice blonde, I grab a nice chocolate brown, and wowee, the colour always comes out perfect, and you would not think that I had tried bleaching my hair (maybe more than once eek) you struggle to find any evidence of bleach damage. So simply put, the colour always comes out beautiful, it is long lasting, and repairs damage!
Great hair dye, great price, great range of colours! I dye my hair a lot and I always seem to find myself buying this product! It is messy to apply which is one of the downsides to this products and also the gloves didn't fit, kept sliding off, so I had to use some of my own which wasn't so bad but it would be a pain if someone didn't have gloves at home! Overall this is one of my favourite hair dyes to use, as it lasts a long time in my hair and the colour is always how I want it ♥♥
Tips: Use vasiline (pure petroleum jelly) on hairline and on ears! Dye just rubs right off, great clean finish.
Ive used this twice before and would not go back. I didnt like how fast my colour faded(if it had been red I wouldnt of been surprised but black?)and my hair felt like straw afterwards. The after care conditioner did nothing to help the condition it left my hair in
This is my own personal favourite of all brands, I am currently blonde, But when I used it to dye my hair from mouse brown, To a very dark chocolate brown and it was a very easy process. Never stripped my hair to much. And the after products of deep conditioning is amazing!
Tips: Check the packet for all items before using, I have mixed the mixture up and the deep conditioners, and gloves were missing from a pack before. Supermarket happily replaced :)
After putting it into my hair I waited over an hour before washing it out (longer than you're meant to) the color looked great once it dried and I thought the color was going to hold... but after the second wash the color still came out. Now I'm left with only a little bit of dye at the roots of my hair and my natural color at the ends with one streak of color on one side of my hair. (and that is with using the conditioner from the packet and shampoo for color treated hair.)
