Before I started this dye job I went into it knowing that reds do fade quite badly so I only had moderate expectations. I chose the colour Intense red ( I am a natural redhead but wanted a bit more oomph). I have long hair so used 2 boxes as recommended; luckily it was on special in the supermarket. Even not on special it is still a very good price. Unfortunately as per most dyes the gloves are a bit naf so I used latex gloves instead. Once I got started the smell made my eyes water. It was however quite easy to get good coverage over all of my hair. After developing and rinsing out it looked amazing. Within about 10 days the colour had lost its intensity and just looked a bit 'muddy' and I was very disappointed that the colour fade was that quick, even with using colour lock products. I think if you are after intense results but don't mind the fade then this is a perfectly fine product to use but for me I was hoping for something with a little more staying power.

This is my go to dye for regrowth and touch ups. Doesn't leave my hair patchy, but can make it quite brittle. On the odd occasion this dye hasn't actually stuck to my hair. So its not good from going light brown back to blonde, only really works on hair thats already been bleached so beware
Tips: Don't dye too often,
I dye my hair all the time! I loved this hair dye, I got it on special for $7 NZD which is a huge bargain for someone in New Zealand. The colour came out as the exact same colour on the box, was even throughout the hair and there were no patches.
Tips: Make sure you follow the instructions, if you have lighter roots than the rest of your hair (regrowth from previously dying hair) apply the dye to your roots first and let it develop for 10 minutes then apply over the rest of your hair for and all over even result.
I was really happy with the intense colour at first, but after about a week the colour started to fade drastically. I could see the colour washing out in the bottom of the shower, which I have never experienced before. The smell of this hair dye is very strong so definitely needs to be done in a very well ventilated place.
This is always on special for $6 @ the supermarkets and that's when I've bought it. I've now learned that it's not for my hair.
This has a high potency in scent and very potent on staining but definitely not potent on dying my hair.
It sits on the hair for the recommended time and when washing out a lot of colour comes out in the shower and does mark the shower so I have to be sure to thoroughly rinse both my hair and after that the shower out. Also need to be careful of what I touch and where I do my hair as this not forgiving. It stains the scalp and the hairline so it's helpful to either put baseline or conditionerror around the hairline to prevent the staining.
My hair doesn't take to this colour and only last 2 washes before my hair is back to the norm.
Tips: Vaseline and/or conditioner around hairline can prevent staining of the hairline. Be careful around the vanity and thoroughly rinse the shower afterwards as this dye is not forgiving.
Before trying this hair dye, id had a few friends comment on how well the colour turns out so I thought Yay I must try it as its nice & cheap also so a win win really.. I tried a purple colour cant remember exact name of color maybe plum purple , Because my hair is thick I brought my usual two boxes and left on for recommended time except the color did not stick to my hair I had a slight tint of color in the sun but nothing to what my friends had raved about. So id say it works alot better with thinner hair compared to thick. Also my friends touch up their blonde roots when they can't afford to go to the salon which works a treat so mixxed feelings about it..
Tips: If you have thin or blonde hair give it a go as you must also get good results but if your like me & have thick darker hair id give it a miss ..
I love that I can get a great, natural looking Chestnut colour on my thick, dark brown hair using this product - and for half or a third of the fancy name brands beside it on the supermarket shelf.
It's got great staying power too - the colour doesn't fade or wash out for me, which means touch ups are a mess free breeze (because I'm only using a tiny amount of the mixed dye and only applying it to the roots = so no splash off or messy transfer).
I haven't had any allergic or other reactions to the ingredients and my skin type is sensitive.
Frankly, I think this budget buster just shows how much profit some of the other companies are making off our desire to look and feel terrific...
Tips: Once you've done a full head colour for root touch ups try using a little ceramic bowl and a plastic comb to combine and apply just a quarter (or less as needed) of the two colouring compounds.
Of course you will only need the same portion of the neutralising/setting conditioner too.
Because Napro has such fantastic staying power I don't recommend applying to previously coloured sections of the hair too often - that colour buildup is what sometimes gives away the home beauty hair colourist : )
I love this product. I never get any allergic reactions to it and have used it time and time again. It always gives a natural colour and doesn't fade or wash out over time, no matter how many times I wash my hair. It lasts a long time and does give my hair a nice shine, though the intensity of the shine sometimes depends on my shampoo or other hair products I use. It's something I would definitely use again.
I have really thick hair and need two boxes of hair dye. I love napro because I can get two boxes for the price of one box of any other brand! I have tried 3 or 4 of the colours and I have loved the results every time. Napro is my product of choice both for the price and the quality
Like the title says, the darker colours are really good. Black, dark brown, even light brown could be good. I use a dark purple shade that's fine but it fades really fast, as do the reds. I had light blue hair beforehand and within a couple of weeks after dyeing it the blue started to show through most of the way. Not one of the best.
