I love this product. I never get any allergic reactions to it and have used it time and time again. It always gives a natural colour and doesn't fade or wash out over time, no matter how many times I wash my hair. It lasts a long time and does give my hair a nice shine, though the intensity of the shine sometimes depends on my shampoo or other hair products I use. It's something I would definitely use again.

I have really thick hair and need two boxes of hair dye. I love napro because I can get two boxes for the price of one box of any other brand! I have tried 3 or 4 of the colours and I have loved the results every time. Napro is my product of choice both for the price and the quality
I picked up some of this hair dye from the supermarket when it was on special for $7. I have really long hair so I need two boxes, $14 for two boxes is a really good idea in my opinion! I bought the purple shade, I can't remember the exact name but the shade range seems rather limited in this brand and it was the only 'colour' other the natural hair colors.
I decided to bleach my hair first so I could get an intense hair colour. I have medium brown hair and doing this in the past with other hair dye brands has given me great results. I left it about a week between bleaching and then colourings.
Inside the pack is just the standard assortment of products that you get in any other hair dye box. I had a quick read of the instructions and they are also the same as usual. I found the scent of the hair dye strong, but not too overpowering. Much better than the bleach by Far!
Washing it out took forever and I didn't find the conditioner that it came with too special. I usually love hair dye conditioners but this one didn't wow me.
After drying my hair, I was in love with the colour. I got a really nice dark purple that was even more intense in the sun. My current profile pic shows the colour. Unfortunately, every time I washed my hair i could see colour running down the drain. I only washed my hair twice a week but after a few weeks my hair had visible fading. I didn't use a specific colour shampoo set so I'm not sure if that would have helped. Fast forward a couple of months and my hair is now a light pinky red. It's OK but so not th purple that i Loved!
I wouldn't use the purple colour again from this brand but I'm thinking about dying my hair black next and I've never one that dark before so i thought i might use this brand again and it will probably fade so if i don't like it, it will be OK. I wouldn't recommend if you want a long lasting colour.
It's the most affordable hair colour I can think of and works just as well as the more expensive brands. They have a great colour selection and the colours have a decent staying power. Each box is well equipped with everything that is needed: gloves, developer, hair colour, conditioner. For the price I would definitely repurchase if I wanted to permanently change my hair colour. I would recommend this for people on a budget!
I have used different brands in the past but I think the main issue for people is getting the right colour for their hair and this one does that for me! I buy "Chocolate Brown" and it covers the few grey hairs I now have and the colour will last me approximately 8 weeks. The conditioner that comes with the application smells divine and works a treat. Apart from having the right colour for me - I simple love the price!!!! Most times I buy this product for about $10.00 and easy for me to apply it myself, wait 40 minutes, rinse and condition and then I am done!
I have really damaged porus hair from keeping it a vibrant red for so long...so when I coloured over it- regardless of the colour I use I found it lasted 2 weeks before it started washing out. I then tried this in their blue black for $6 from Kmart. I wasn't expecting great things but afterwards my hair felt amazing and was super shiny. The result was better than most salon blue blacks i had tried. The best thing was that it covered my previous hair colour and 4 weeks later still no horrible brownish red coming through! The product was easy to use the only thing is I wish it came with more conditioner.
Tips: Don't forget to allergy test prior to colouring. Just because you have coloured before doesn't mean you won't have an allergy next time you use a product. Use a barrier like hair wax or vasaline around your hair line and ears so it doesn't colour your skin. Make sure you slightly wet the hair and emulsify it in before rinsing. It helps remove all the dye off the scalp. Wear gloves!!! And don't leave on longer than the recommended time.
Cheapest brand for my budget and even better when it is on special which it is quite often. Easy to purchase by adding it to my supermarket shopping. I need to buy 2 boxes at a time because 1 box is not enough to cover my long hair. I am happy with the colour and the results and because I don't have any grey hairs yet the colour normally lasts me about 6 weeks. The conditioner that comes with the treatment smells really nice and leaves my hair feeling well conditioned at the end but only comes in a small sachet and enough for one condition. Very happy with the overall results from this hair dye especially for the price!!!
I haven't changed my hair or done anything to it in a long time & when I saw they were selling at $5 a box at Pak'n'save how could I pass up that offer.
I have been dying my hair for years and always loved the conditioner in these boxes. To be honest that is the only reason why I buy this brand of dye. Because it leaves my hair feeling fluffy and light.
The hair dye also does the job. I went from having a few stray greys and dark chocolate brown to jet black and it did the job great. It lasts a few months at a time and cannot complain.
Will always dye my hair with Palette. Next best thing after the salon.
I coloured my hair on Saturday the 11th in shade 4.88 Intense red.
Smells good, not floral but slightly herbal. Formula is really good , very creamy and thick and spreads really well. When colouring my own hair I use the nozzle of the bottle close to my scalp and squeeze in a zig zag pattern all over the regrowth (I only colour my regrowth) and pat and push into the hair with my fingers. And use the nozzle to part my hair in vertical sections. I continue till all the roots are saturated.
I actually left this one for about two hours, due to not having enough hot water. It still rinsed well and came off my skin well. I like to wet hair , emulsify and rub the colour into my forehead and temples, this helps remove some colour on the skin.
The colour care conditioner that comes with, is nice super thick and creamy, smells herbal as well, left my hair super shiny and soft.
I had a vibrant red result and that's what I am after. However and even tho it says GREY COVERAGE!!!!! I can see it coated them, but I can see in a wash they'll be back to white in no time. That's a pet hate of mine!! So my theory of leaving it in longer that the 30 minutes does not cover grey any better. However Brilliance by Schwarzkopf does perfect grey coverage with their Reds. Same company....
The Palette range is a cheaper , so I shouldn't have expected it to stand up to Brilliance.
Tips: Use Olive Oil?Coconut Oil around hair line, ears and temples for less staining.
I love that I can get a great, natural looking Chestnut colour on my thick, dark brown hair using this product - and for half or a third of the fancy name brands beside it on the supermarket shelf.
It's got great staying power too - the colour doesn't fade or wash out for me, which means touch ups are a mess free breeze (because I'm only using a tiny amount of the mixed dye and only applying it to the roots = so no splash off or messy transfer).
I haven't had any allergic or other reactions to the ingredients and my skin type is sensitive.
Frankly, I think this budget buster just shows how much profit some of the other companies are making off our desire to look and feel terrific...
Tips: Once you've done a full head colour for root touch ups try using a little ceramic bowl and a plastic comb to combine and apply just a quarter (or less as needed) of the two colouring compounds.
Of course you will only need the same portion of the neutralising/setting conditioner too.
Because Napro has such fantastic staying power I don't recommend applying to previously coloured sections of the hair too often - that colour buildup is what sometimes gives away the home beauty hair colourist : )
