After the success of the OGX macadamia nut conditioner I thought I would give some of the others in the OGX family a go.
The Coconut water condition comes in the same designed shape of the other OGX products, a solid, chunky rounded bottle that seems to be made from a strong plastic that doesn't allow you to fully squeeze it, resulting in you hard shaking at it to get the last drops out of the bottle. Fully opaque body and the overall weight of the bottle means that you are not sure when the end is in sight you just have to judge for yourself which is annoying as it normally runs out without me knowing and then I get in the shower to a surprise.
Heavily scented with coconuts this liquid is just over the runny consistency, not too thick but a little more fluid than I normally expect from a conditioner. Applying it is easy as it almost melts into your dampen locks, rinsing away effortlessly. However I noticed from the word go that as soon as my hair started to dry, the frizz was on high alert and had to be tamed with more product than normal. After finishing the bottle and dealing with multiple frizz out breaks that can only be linked to this conditioner I went out and re-purchased the macadamia version which seems to be better suited to my hair type.
Last time I was in my local Life Pharmacy I happened upon a few of the travel sized OGX Shampoo's and Conditioners. I had wanted to try some OGX products for a while but I was majorly put off by the price, so being able to get the Shampoo and Conditioner for $8.99 each in a travel size was great. I do occasionally travel for work or to see family so I knew these would come in handy anyway.
The packaging is quite simple for these which I really like. The conditioner is in a opaque shiny white container (similar to MAC strobe cream actually). I'm not a big fan of it being opaque though as you don't know how much is left. It seems quite sturdy which is great for travelling. The bottle is easily squeezable too which I like. It does really look quite classy. Also the top is curved so when you are running out you can't put it upside down to get the last bit out which is a bit sucky for such an expensive product.
I really like the scent, it is like the shampoo a really light coconut scent with a wee bit of a tropical scent too. I leaves a wee bit of a scent in my hair afterwards but not so much that it is terribly noticeable. A little bit of it managed to spread through my hair really nicely. It advises to leave this in for a couple of minutes which I did and it still washed out really easily which impressed me. But what impressed me even further was how shiny and manageable my hair was afterwards. They are also right about the weightlessness. I am really impressed that my hair can feel this nice and not be weighed down at the same time.
I have never used any expensive shampoo's or conditioners before, but I am actually really impressed with these and will consider buying the big sizes (if they're on special).
