Other than Redken for my colour treated hair, I've never wanted anything fancy for my locks, just a product that will help keep it clean, leave it smelling lovely and feeling ilke it's well looked after. I think I've found it in this shampoo. I added this to my wish list after reading BR KirstyJ's review (below) and I don't regret it at all.
I picked up the travel kit from Beauty Bliss for $32 (includes Tangle Teezer) which I must say was a mission to remove from the soft plastic kit to the point where I pulled off the actual bronze gold lid (no drama I could easily attach it back on without affecting the functionality).
I love the simple clear packaging, it makes me think that the focus is really on the quality of the product. It has quite a thick gel consistency to the point that if you don't firmly dispense the product, it will be sucked back into the bottle. I found however that if you massage the product into your hand you risk melting the product away so just massage once or twice then apply to hair.
It lathers up quite nicely but disappears after a few minutes after letting it just sit in my hair. What I love is that when I wash out the shampoo, my hair doesn't feel dry and straw like - it doesn't feel extremely smooth but it definitely has a better texture.
The product smells just like coconut water but better in my opinion. I find that the scent lasts quite well in my hair; on the 3rd day it's still very much lingering in my locks so I'm really happy with that aspect of the product. It doesn't improve my fight with dandruff but it doesn't make it worse either so that's still good to me. Would I repurchase? Absolutely.
Last time I was in my local Life Pharmacy I happened upon a few of the travel sized OGX Shampoo's and Conditioners. I had wanted to try some OGX products for a while but I was majorly put off by the price, so being able to get the Shampoo and Conditioner for $8.99 each in a travel size was great. I do occasionally travel for work or to see family so I knew these would come in handy anyway.
The packaging is quite simple for these which I really like. The shampoo comes in a clear bottle with a gold flip top lid. I like the clear bottle because you know how much you have left. It seems quite sturdy which is great for travelling. At the back of the bottle is a picture that you can see from the front of some fresh coconut which is lovely. The bottle is easily squeezable too which I like. It does really look quite classy.
I am loving the scent of this, it is like a subtle coconut slash tropical sort of smell which is delicious but not something that you will smell over your perfume. It is a bit of a thicker gel consistency but you don't need much to be able to lather it up well. After using this my hair felt clean, but not overly dry or knotty which is great. I do wonder if this is something to do with being zero sls/sles so I'm keen to try more products without sls/sles. Afterwards my hair did feel quite weightless as they suggested.
I have never used any expensive shampoo's or conditioners before, but I am actually really impressed with these and will consider buying the big sizes (if they're on special).
