I purchased this duo for wayyy more than the price it says above. I think I paid 30 each for them. So I was expecting a really good, top dollar, top quality treatment for my hair. I was in for a big shock and so disappointed.
It has a weird smell, which I have a love/hate relationship with. It smells like a brand new car with its leather seats and everything, which is kinda gross, but also weirdly nice.
It’s texture is also thick and creamy, and comes in a cream colour.
When you use it in the shower, it’s nice and silky, but once dry it’s horrible. There is no conditioning to the hair, in fact it’s quite the opposite. My hair felt dryer than ever.
It’s also really hard to wash out. I spend a good 5-10 minutes trying to get all that shampoo and conditioner out my hair. The conditioner is really thick, and hard to spread. As soon as it goes on the hair, it seems to disappear. It absorbs into the patch you put it into and you need to reach for more to put on.
The duo is also really heavy for my hair, and leaves it flat and really greasy, in need of a wash the next day - two if I can get away with it.
My hair also feels really frizzy, and I need to reach for a curling wand, or iron to make a style out of it.
I am really disappointed, I really love the organix range.
I have been trialling numerous sulphate free shampoos over the past year, on the lookout for one that can tame the mane that is my hair. I have found that products claiming to be "sulphate free" can be separated in to two quite distinctly different groups.
The first being those that are very conditioning often a cleansing conditioner (shampoo and conditioner in one) that apparently cleanse the hair while deep conditioning. I have found these really do improve the manageability and condition of my hair but take a long time to get used to as don't feel like they are "cleansing" as well.
This duo from Organix in my experience falls into the second group.
Those which feel more like your standard supermarket shampoo and strip the hair of oil build up and cleanse the hair well and are then followed by a conditioner.
I have enjoyed using the Organix Duo and it is a set I will probably repurchase. I find the Shampoo does cleanse my hair well without stripping it severely (like others I have tried ) but I would always follow up with the conditioner which is lovely and hydrating. This set leaves my hair feeling nice and smooth, shiny and manageable (but doesn't work miracles, although my hair is a tough test for any product)
This set smells amazing also which is great (who doesn't want hair that smells divine!) and it is reasonably priced when compared to other "sulfate free" products.
So If you aren't a fan of the first type of hair care but still want a more hair friendly product, I would definitely recommend this set.
