I've had this straightener for a couple years now and it still works as well as it did when I first bought it. The size is great for both straightening and curling hair and it heats up very quickly. The temperature range is good for fine to thick/frizzy hair and being able to lower the temp quite a bit is very helpful when I've had my hair treated. Overall, it is a fantastic straightener and very easy and comfortable to use!

This is my first straightener, never really used one before so it's quite easy for a newbie like me. Used it for straightening or curling ad the 360 degree cord is handy. Basic and a good first straightener!
I’ve bought this as my first ever hair straightener when moving to New Zealand. It was awesome and great at the time, was working for years and it’s still working, however I have since upgraded with 2 other (also Remington) straighteners and the difference between them is huge. The new ones (shine therapy model from Europe and air plates from Noel leeming) make my hair smoother, straighter and my hair is softer for longer, whereas this older model I feel damages my hair more as it’s dryer after using and my hair isn’t straight by the next day. I think this was a great hair straightener for the time it came out, but now there are better models that do less damage to the hair. I still have this as a backup straightener and it was useful once as my other straighteners were either faulty at the time or I didn’t find a proper plug for my European one. That’s when I noticed the big difference between this and the newer models. If I could have 10 Remington straighteners I would buy all the new ones all the time, but (un)fortunately my boyfriend keeps telling me I already have 3 and they’re all working! :D
Tips: Buy a newer model, the difference is huge.
I purchased this hair straightener at least 5 years ago for $25 at a closing down sale, my previous straightener had run it’s course but I couldn’t afford (nor did I want to spend that much) a high end option like GHD. (Which by the way I’m never overly impressed with when I use one).
This is the most basic of hair tools, it has an on and off switch and a temperature wheel which I set to 200°. For reference I have quite damaged hair currently, I went from blonde to dark brown and back to blonde in the space of 2 months but fortunately it’s not broken, just very very dry and because I have a ton of hair it tends to look a little crazy when it’s air dryed.
This straightener does everything that a straightener should do, it heats up in about 1 minute, it’s smooth and glides through the hair effortlessly, it’s not too heavy and it’s slim enough for even shorter hair. I’ve never had it let me down & it leaves my hair smooth, sleek, shiny and happy. I can’t fault it!
I love this straightener, it is affordable and a great go to. I love the feel of it on my hair, runs through it smoothly and doesn't burn my hair to a crisp. I like the style of the straightener, it's easy to hold so you don't burn yourself and looks quite classy. My hair holds a natural wave but with this straightener it stays straight for a while. Overall I would recommend for anyone who would like a trusty classic hair straightener.
This straightener has been similar to an irritating family member to me. Always there, can’t get rid of them. Plays the part of straightener well enough to not be binned but under performs every time I use it that I vow to replace it. It’s one of those straighteners that yr9 students buy from Farmers with their pocket money they got for Christmas and never got a new one until they are 26. May or may not be my straightener testimony. Stands the test of time but will easily be outdone. Sorry not sorry, Remington!
Tips: Lol
Been using this product for a while now. I use a straightener 3 to 4 times a week. And this one sure does the job. I don't have very thick hair, so the straightner does the job real fast. Leaves the hair feeling smooth with no frizz. It heats up fast and is good value for money. I am quite happy with my choice and definitely recommend it.
I needed a replacement for my GHD that I sold and now regret lol I decided to use my Fly Buys points at Noel Leeming to pick this hair Straigtener up . My hair is naturally very thick . I was looking at something that would tame my hair .
Packaging is made of black plastic feels quite sturdy has a matte finish . Has the Remington labelling. Comes with adjustable heat setting . Iron plates have a smooth matte feel .
On my hair it takes an hour on a bad day and 45 minutes to get through my hair . I wish it was faster at heating up . I do manage to get reasonably sleek hair .
Overall I think it is priced a wee bit high I think $50 is a more reasonable price point for it . I’m lucky that I got mine for free . I can’t see myself repurchasing this . I need something that can straighten quicker .
After over 10 years, my $40 straightener finally failed me, so recently it was time to get a new one. I could not live without a hair straightener!
I wanted something of decent quality as I have rather thick hair and it requires a fair bit of work, but I didn't want to spend hundreds as I just don't believe that it's necessary. This straightener seemed to be the best option available in store at the time when I was in desperate need of a one.
This straightener heats really quickly and it gets the job done without any trouble, achieving the desired affect efficiently.
I straighten my hair almost every day, I need something quick and reliable and I'm very happy with this purchase.
This is the first hair straightener I ever used. Its a great basic hair straighter and does the job. I like how you can use the circle scroll the select the heat setting which is great if you have thin/thick hair. We would always change the scroll to the highest setting for my thick hair, it would take a longer amount of time to straigten my hair. Its a classic hair straightener, but there are better ones out there, but if you have nothing else the Remington will do the job.
