I love the peachy packaging and was looking forward to trying this. It has a nice fruity fragrance and lathers well. My hair felt clean and fresh afterwards.

I have long hair which is colour treated, heat damaged and prone to split ends and breakage. I also get mean headaches if I don’t wash my hair daily so I’m always cautious about using the right shampoo/conditioner - that won’t strip my hair of essential oils & is suitable for daily use. The L’Oréal dream lengths shampoo smells great, lathers wells and leaves the hair feeling soft, light and healthy. I especially love how the results are noticeable from first use. For best results follow with the conditioner of the same dream lengths range and the cream before heat styling.
Loreal Elvive Dream Length shampoo is marketed for long, damaged hairs. The words on the bottle say restoring shampoo so I was keen to trial as my hair is very long, damaged and also dry so this range should be ideal for me. It contains Caster oil which is considered an important ingredient to help grow hairs by stimulating the hair follicle.
The shampoo is similar to other shampoos in other ranges of elvive products. The packaging is the familiar long, thin tube with flip top lid. It stands out being a orange colour with a hot pink lid. Why change the packaging if it works well! I have found in the past this type of packaging although big, easy to travel with as it doesn't leak. It's a decent size, 325mls so it should last a while.
The shampoo has a thin consistency but isn't runny and has a silky feel. One of the best parts of a shampoo is the scent. Dream lengths is a sweet smell which is like a fruit cocktail of cherry, coconut and vanilla. I'm not actually sure if that's what the scent is but it smells like that to me. It leaves this lovely lingers scent on your hair for a few days too. I wouldn't considered it overpowering and I have a fairly sensitive nose.
I find this shampoo hydrating enough on my scalp without feeling like it stripped away too much of my hairs own natural oils and without it irritating my sometime sensitive scalp. I use about a 50 cent size piece to cover my roots. I normally shampoo twice and twice a week so I kept to my usual routine which worked well with this shampoo. It mixes well with water to give a good lather and a refreshing clean sensation.
Unfortunately I have only been able to trial Dream Lengths twice so far. It is therefore hard to know whether it will help strengthen my hair and prevent breakage like it claims as the instrumental test performed by Loreal says after 10 uses. I really like how hydrating and soft my hair feels so I will continue to use.
I can honestly say I would by this shampoo solely based on the scent, I am in love with it! Sweet, fruity and strong, it makes me smile every time I wash my hair. It lathers us really nicely leaving the hair perfectly clean and looking shiny and bright. Used with the conditioner and leave in cream, my hair has been feeling soft, strong and healthy. I definitely feel like I have had less breakage and less fall out since using this product, however it is too soon to comment on the split ends factor. The bottle is perky, bright, and quite big so good value in my opinion.
The bottle this come in is attractive looking. Good info on the back about what it's meant to do, but no real instructions. Being that it is shampoo, instructions should not be needed. The shampoo is white in colour and smells amazing. Its kind of a sticky, slimy consistency. It lathers up really well so I use less than some other shampoos I have used. My hair feels really clean after rinsing out. As I have only used for a few days, I haven't noticed a huge difference yet, although I seem to have less hair coming out. Looking forward to seeing the difference after longer use.
To be honest it’s pretty hard to review a shampoo just by itself as someone with long hair I have never used shampoo by itself, but let’s give it a go!!! This shampoo smells divine!!! If I could put love hearts here I would, same with the conditioner and leave in treatment too. It has what I would describe as a mellow warm citrus scent, super thick and creamy in texture. It lathers well but didn’t seem to over powered with sulphates like some other mainstream brand shampoos (which I liked). Hair felt clean but not stripped of all moisture (I hate having that squeaky clean feel, not natural at all to strip away moisture), so bonus points on that! Easy to rinse and follow up with the conditioner.
Tips: Follow up with the conditioner for some luscious locks!
I really liked this product. It smelled amazing and the it was lovely, rich and creamy. I felt that my hair looked full and hydrated after using this product. I didn't give it 5 stars because I feel like I need to use it a bit longer to see if it truly delivers on all of it's claims, but it's really lovely so far!
I LOVE this shampoo! This has everything I need for my damaged frizzy hair. It leaves my hair so soft and smooth. While I haven't been using this long enough to see long term results I have noticed a instant improvement in the appearance of my hair. This shampoo also smells beautiful and foams well. My hair feels clean afterwards and the freshness lasts days.
Tips: The shampoo moisturizes the hair without making it greasy, as a oily hair girl I can vouch that this product does not make my hair any oiler. In fact I managed to go 4 days between washes without my hair looking like an oil slick.
I was lucky enough to be chosen to trial the new Dream Lengths Restoring Shampoo from L’Oreal. My hair is dry and fine. It is drier than it should be because I have damaged it by lightening it. This past year I have been growing my hair, so it is now down past my shoulders.
The Dream Lengths Shampoo comes in a cheerfully coloured peach bottle with a pink lid. The bottle is semi-transparent so you can see how much product you have left. The bottle is 325ml. The shampoo stands on its base, and has a flip-up lid. On the bottle it states that this is for “long, damaged hair.” The formula is enriched with “vegetal keratin, vitamins, and castor oil.”
I found the bottle easy to open with its flip-top lid, and the product was easy to squeeze out of the bottle. The product itself is white, and has a yummy peachy scent. The shampoo was easy to apply and to lather. It felt gentle on my hair and scalp. It rinsed out easily too once I was done shampooing. My hair felt soft and conditioned afterwards. I enjoyed using this, and I will continue to use it once the trial is over.
This Shampoo has been a welcome addition to my hair care regime. The fragance is nice, the formula is thick and creamy and leaves my hair feeling fresh and soft. I have only been using this for a little while and I'm liking it already, I can't wait to see the long term effects.
