I had never owned Expensive straighteners but often used my friends GHDs or similar and thought they were good, but not good enough to shell out for them when my Remington’s did a pretty close job as far as I was concerned! So when my sister in law bought me a pair of Cloud Nine Straighteners for my birthday after they were recommended to her by her hairdresser and she told me they changed her life, I didn’t believe it and thought they were ridiculously expensive and unnecessary. However, upon using them I realised how much time I would save, how much easier they were too use and how much longer the styles would last! My hair is softer, smoother and just looks more professionally styled using these. It also stays straight longer, even after tying it up with a hair tie or going out in the rain, it seems to frizz less. It’s easier to use it for curls or waves and just the general ease of use because the cord swivels freely, it’s a great length, the switches are inside the handle so I don’t accidentally turn it down or off, it automatically turns on set at the mid heat setting and heats quickly. It’s easy to clean and came in a cute heat resistant bag with clips and a protective cover. I was lucky enough to get a gift set that also included a cloud nine paddle brush which is a great brush too!

Tips: Always use a heat protective spray or serum before using hot styling tools. Use the lowest temperature you can to achieve the results you want to avoid hair damage. They are expensive (mine were about $390) but they are a great investment!
I have thick hair, so the 1st hair straightner that I owned was a GHD and that worked a TREAT on my hair. I was so adamant that there would be no other straightener that could work magic on my hair, and then came out Cloud 9 and that just proved me wrong!! Even better that you can adjust the heat, you can turn it down so it doesn't burn your hair or just adjust it to your preference.
I love love love my Cloud9. I prefer over GHD (we have a GHD at the gym I go to, so I get to use both). The cloud 9 has multiple temperature settings , so you can adjust to your hair type, and reduce temp for those fine hairs around the face. It heats up super quick! So no waiting around. But the main reason I love, love, love Cloud 9, is the conditioning it provides. My hair is so soft and manageable after I have straightened. It doesn't' feel fried. It feels silky and smooth with a glossy shine. I have NO IDEA how they do it?! But it works. Whatever it is. Had them for about 2 years now, and no faults so far!
Tips: Tip: always use a heat protect! I use Pureology 21 benefits spray. (smells delish!) Also, don't crank the heat temp too high, otherwise you WILL burn your hair and it will leave kink marks.
I wouldn't recommend any other hair straightener than a cloud 9. I have had mine for over 5 years now and its still going strong. Touch wood. They are great for my hair type which is thick, course and fizzy. I previously owned a GHD which didn't keep the fizz at bay where the cloud 9 does and it makes my hair feel so much better than other straightners ever did. It heats up quickly. Has an automatic switch off for those odd times you may leave it on with out realizing as well which is brilliant for people like me who are forgetful. The cord is really long so your able to be a long way from the inlet and they are really easy to clean and maintain. Well worth the money!!!!
So my GHD of many years had finally decided to leave me and I was left trying to decide between buying a cloud9 or GHD. After reading Atleast 100 reviews for multiple sites I choose the cloud9.
My experience with cloud9: I have naturally very curly and thick hair which usually takes about any hour to straighten with a GHD, however with the cloud9 it’s halved that time and leaves my hair straight all day. The temperature setting is also really great as you can set it to where you prefer. Would recommend investing in this rather than the new GHDs, there’s no real comparison.
Tips: I use the Joico iron clad spray before and after straightening my hair for some heat protection and lasting look
Love my cloud nine straighteners, they work amazingly in my super thick frizzy curly hair. Before I purchased these I had a ghd set that I'd had for 7-8 years until it sadly died. I looked at replacing them with another set but they just didn't cut it, the cloud ones did a far better job! Just wish they weren't so expensive
I fell in love with my Cloud 9 straighteners 3 years ago and I will never look back. Before this I had GHD, new ones not the originals, I tried Remington, tresemme, babyliss but my hair never got that smooth straight look. It was straighter but quite often the humidity would destroy it. I bought my cloud 9 after saving and receiving a coupon and I have loved it. I had two break on me, just stopped working through a fault, and the customer service replace them straight away without question so keep the receipt! I would still recommend to anyone as this is the best straightener around, much better than GHD and I can get my hair as straight and sleek as my hairdresser at home.
Tips: I straighten my full hair after using heat protectant and washing it. This means I can just touch up on a lower setting throughout the week to save from extreme heat damage. It also will turn off itself after 30 minutes which is great!
I received this as a present, just under 2 years ago, and it was one of the best present's I've been gifted.
I couldn't rave enough about this straightener. I've always struggled with my hair as it is very thick and frizzy naturally. Humidity, is my worst nightmare and even when I would use 'good' straighteners, my straight hair would be undone the moment I stepped outside... that was until, the Cloud 9.
It works like a charm, my hair is dead straight, silky smooth and fantastic and it LASTS. It is also really easy to create beautiful waves/curls with and I feel like my hair looks healthier after using it!?
This is top notch quality and it still works like the first day I got it, 2 later with no issues whatsoever.
This straightener is worth the purchase ladies, for the same price as other products that are most certainly lack lustre in comparison to this, direct your money this way!
Tips: Always recommend using a heat protectant spray whenever you are doing any kind of heat styling ladies!
Such a great branded quality hot iron. If here wasn't such thing as GHD I would definitely be all for this brand not me it does super jobs thick coarse hair and also as the humidity affects hair after its been straitened when you use a cloud 9 on thick coarse hair it doesn't seem to get affected by humidity for at least 6 hours witch is excellent.its sleek look and designed with black floating plates you seem to find it manageable light and no Hassel when it comes to hot ironing of hair and styling exactly ow you like with eaz
Tips: Much more manageable to use when wanting to straighten and style an type hair
I have had my cloud nine original straighteners for 8 years and it works as well as the day I bought them. Amazing. Never skip a beat, love the temperature control and long flexible cord. Great investment
Tips: It you loved the classic ghds this is like the way they used to make them as I believe the original founder started cloud nine
