Before I changed my hair doo I had long ringlets down to my butt which always required a heap of care. On humid days or rain filled days my hair would rebel and become frizzy with flyaways and undefined curls. I could never find anything to tame it so would try many products on the market. One of these products was the Sunsilk Frizz and Weather Defense Shampoo.
I love the shape of the Sunsilk range of shampoos and conditioners because they are shaped to a persons grasp. It makes it easier to hold in the shower with wet soapy hands. For 400ml and at $4 per bottle it makes the value for the amount very worthwhile. I find the smell very sweet and almost sickening. It starts out pleasant enough but quickly becomes too overpowering.
The texture is very thick and silky. It lathers up perfectly for me. Lathering for my peace of mind is a big deal. If I don't see lather I don't feel clean enough. I rub it in to my scalp, working it in with my nails to get the deepest clean I can manage. I leave it in for two minutes and rinse thoroughly.
My hair is left feeling a bit dry like it would if it were bleached. It's tangled and squeaky feeling. I follow this up with the conditioner which instantly makes it smooth but remains tangled.
Once it's dry my hair is very frizzy and afro like. It means that I have to apply a serum and a product to define my ringlets again. This is all before I even step out in the weather. I put this to the ultimate test by going out in humid rain with breeze. Three hours in the elements and my hair is a birds nest. It is tangled worse than before and is looking more like an afro than long ringlets. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and continued to use it in hopes it would work. It didn't! My hair felt worse after using it than it did before. I learned my lesson never to trust the more budget shampoos.
Bought this product thinking it may help with the frizz. It does absolutely nothing. Hair was left stringy and dry. Used this with the Frizz and weather defence conditioner. After blow drying there was absolutely no difference to any other shampoo. Does not do what is says it will.
Tips: Expect no difference to any other shampoo.
