I was hesitant to purchase a bottle of this Tea Tree shampoo, while I was still searching for the perfect shampoo for oily hair, as the little symbol on the bottle said that it expires three months after opening and I knew there was no way I'd finish the bottle in three months.
Well, three months down the line and I've had to throw away half the bottle because it's expired. Tea Tree being an essential oil and the bottle being constantly opened and closed, exposing the product to air, I wasn't prepared to continue using it after expiry in case my scalp reacted to the now altering Tea Tree oil.
It says its suitable for oily hair, yet after washing my hair with this shampoo it didn't feel or look very clean. Two hours after washing my hair and it was already starting to look limp and greasy, definitely not ideal. The smell is also quite overpowering (especially since we have a ShowerDome and there's no where for the scent to escape), and it does lather well.
Sadly, I won't be repurchasing this product or recommending it. It did get me wondering why companies don't also make smaller bottles of the same product when they have such a short shelf-life. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had to throw away a half-full bottle.
I love that it is a natural product and some people swear by it but for me I hate the potential smell. It doesn't help me with my flaky dandruff hair and dries my hair out.
