I purchased the Dove Intensive Repair Treatment Mask in order to help revitalise my hair which had become quite dry and unruly. Although it did help nourish my hair, restoring vitality and shine, it didn't do as good a job as various other brands which I have tried. This product is quite widely available, and comes in a decent sized tub which is handy for girls with long hair like me! The scent is subtle but nice, and leaves your hair smelling good for hours.

Tips: Apply after using shampoo and conditioner for a greater effect. Massage into scalp and hair, then leave in for several minutes to allow the proteins to be fully absorbed.
My hair is very thick, long and porous.. and I go through a LOT of conditioner. The product is slightly better than their standard conditioner, which is what I pretty much expected. I didn't get a lot of uses out out the container, as I need to use a lot each time. Definitely softer and silkier, but nothing to rave about.
Tips: Don't thoroughly rinse it all out.. I tend to leave a little in there, similair to a leave in conditioner.
I love the thickness of this treatment mask. I like to use once a week as a treat. I find it super easy to add to my hair routine. The container, the screw top makes it easy to open. Its straight forward to use, I apply a generous amount (more then recommended) to my freshly washed hair, taking care to massage it into the ends, as they are quite brittle from over colouring. I left on for at least 5-10 minutes while I complete my shower routine. It washes out so quickly. I dont even need to brush my hair afterwards, my fingers just glide through my hair. It looks noticeably healthier. I struggle to find it in the shops which is disappointing.
Tips: leave on for at least 5-10 minutes
I'm definitely a person who will try to use a whole product up before deciding whether or not it is right for me.
In saying that, I didn't love the packaging of this item. Too fussy when you're trying to use it in the middle of your shower routine as water gets in and in a rush you can end up applying too much.
The fragrance is great and the texture is not too thin and has a good amount of flexibility to be evenly applied to your hair.
While my hair felt silkier after use, overall I did not feel that it made a huge difference to the condition of my hair... Not such an "intensive" repair.
I think it's a great product, I think this isn't for curly dry hair. My hair needs like 5 of these tubs to start even seeing progress.
The tub is small, and I have been blessed with a lot of hair, so this barely did anything for me. I think this would be good for someone who has frizzy light hair. Just because the portion of the tub would go a long way for them.
This is your regular supermarket deep conditioner. I used to have a small pot of it back in Asia, I used during the cool season as deep conditioner when my hair would get dry. It did a reasonable job of deep conditioning my hair but I my hair wasn't overly damaged, just dry and rather static. It's a good product but I'm sure there are better options out there.
Tips: After you apply it run a wide toothed comb through your hair to smooth it out and coat the strands more effectively.
I brought this recently on a whim (special at Countdown) but found it did nothing out of the normal. My hair felt the same after trying this mask treatment as it does after I just use my daily conditioner. Wouldn't bother in the future, find that the oil treatments are working better for my dry, frizzy hair.
I always have good things to say about Dove as I love the fact their PH levels are neutral and I know that I'm getting something good for my skin. With their hair mask, it feels nice, but I didn't find it made much of a difference to my hair. It was like any other standard hair mask that I've tried with the exception of a couple. The smell is great, and the formula is just right, but didn't really see much of a difference, just felt like it would if I'd just shampoo'd my hair.
I have fine, damaged hair that is prone to frizz. I finished the entire jar, and saw no difference in my hair. I got the same results I would expect from an average conditioner. I thought this may have been a cheaper alternative to the Macadamia deep repair masque, but sadly it just doesn't compare. I'll be sticking to my Macadamia.
I really like the way this made my hair feel straight after using it, it made my hair, soft, silky and manageable. This smells brilliant and is quite affordable considering a little bit goes a long way. I just don't think the benefits last very long, within 2 days my hair had gone back to what it was. Also I think it would be much better in a tube, not a tub. Overall not a bad product at all though, just not sure it does all it says it does.
