I have very curly, dry hair and I was surprised after one use my hair felt soft and seemed to keep its moisture. After using it for a week (4 washes) I didn't notice my split ends vanish but my hair did feel healthier. I also used it on my daughters hair and her hair is more managable as well. I also love the fact that it doesn't have an over powering scent.

Tips: Leave the conditioner in for about 5 minutes or more if you can
I was super excited to be selected for this particular product due to having heavily coloured white blonde hair. Tresemme is renoun for its promise of cheap prices but 'salon treatment' experience. Ok so lets begin my nice juicey review by starting with the obvious :
Packaging- Overall its very distinct I can always suss out a tresemme bottle, they are largely sized and usually always black for shampoo and white for conditioner. Which is great as no fannying about when in a rush in the supermarket! also easy for male consumers! Now the overall appearance of the packaging is nothing special, but the size of the bottles are pretty impressive. After reading other peoples reviews about it not being value for money. I'm afraid I do not agree, super markets are always having coupon specials for shampoo! This is a cheaper alternative than a salon brand, and not half bad! The only niggle I have about the packaging is rather than having a screw top a pump would be better. It would be much more efficient as less product would be used.(which would solve the value for money debate)
As far as the shampoo and conditioner consistency goes, I would describe them as a thicker and heavier consistency. This is not necessarily a bad thing, however if you use too much your hair will feel weighty and greasy. As far as the smell of both goes, it is pleasant but nothing overly distinguishable from other brands. Hint for treseme :if your claiming to be up there with the salon brands make yours smell much better! Products need to smell beautiful to enhance a persons overall experience!
Treseme makes big big promises...almost dangerous promises! The scepticism already kicked in for me when reading the whole '3 washes miracle cure' selling point. It is almost like they are setting themselves up for failure... Overall I was impressed with the way in which it made my hair feel, the texture was yummy and nourished my fine blonde locks. However do I really believe in the 3 wash miracle cure? No. Being a beautician I am well aware of client's wanting quick fixes for skincare...I'm sure hair is no exception. There are so many factors to consider : age, gender, genes, diet, health and of course hair type! And how much money and time are we prepared to invest in out hair?that's anybodys guess!
Yes my hair felt beautiful and the treatment appeared to form almost a 'seal' around the ends, but to see significant results I would have to be using this set over a series of MONTHS to make a fully informed decision on the reduction of my split ends.
Tips: Always shampoo the hair twice, the first shampoo will not lather up as much as the second. the second shampoo is required to really intensify the pollutant removal process. When applying the conditioner be sure to only apply to the ENDS of the hair, applying to the roots will leave the hair feeling greasy. Also be sure to leave the conditioner in for at least 3 minutes.
I was hopefull about trying a product that says it would reduce split ends and was excited to receive my nearly full size products in the mail! After my hair been put through the loops over the last few years after colouring, heat and styling I still have not found any hair products to repair already split ends.
Look- Pleased with the large bottle size. I also liked the professional look of the bottle and light green/white/black colouring on the bottle.
Smell- As with a lot of Tresemme products I found the smell quite chemically.
Texture- The shampoo felt very slimy, maybe due to the high amounts of silicone in the product and foamed up well.
Result- I washed my hair with shampoo twice, rinsed thoroughly then left conditioner on for about 5 minutes through the mid lengths of my hair. After using the product for 3 washes I found my hair texture to be a lot stronger, shiny, and I feel as though the dryness throughout the mid to end has reduced and a lot more manageable, but overall I do not believe it helped with my split ends unfortunately.
Tips: Like the bottle says I spread the shampoo over both my hands then applied to hair.Left the conditioner on my hair through the mid-lengths for about 5minutes.
This product smells yummy and is in a decent size and packaging. Felt good on my hair whilst in the shower but once my hair was dry it seems to have a sticky texture. This lasted until I washed next. I think it may be the gluey formula of the shampoo but it made my long hair seem knotty.
I have just been on the HCG diet and my hair became really dry. This product smells great. As far as helping split ends and dry hair. I did notice my hair was alot shinier after second time i used it and my ends were alot less fluffy. However i only wash my hair 2-3 times a week...(condition daily) i think i may need to was it more with this product. I will re-review this product in two weeks to see how the maintenance of using it is working. Also GREAT sized bottles.
Tips: 6 weekly trims is a great way to help with split ends
Having had split ends for many years I was very excited about the promise of fixing 80% of the issue in three washes. Sadly while there was a small noticeable difference the product definitely didn't appear to do all that much.
However with that aside the product smells delicious and feels nice after conditioning and then drying.
I was excited to trial the Tresseme split Remedy as I have dry hair and split ends from styling.
I thought that the end result was average, it didnt leave my hair feeling smooth like it should after a wash. I think this is a long term product rather than a quick fix
In saying this I think my split ends look slightly better and I am looking forward to using this long trm and hope to see better results.
Tips: I think when using this I would recommend a double wash including shampoo and Conditioner to help the hair absorb the product.
I really liked the consistency of the shampoo in particular, and found that using it with the conditioner made it easier to get a comb through my hair when it was wet. However I found the conditioner seemed to leave a coating on my hair that left it feeling a bit lack lustre and heavy. I do think it's made a difference to my split ends, but it's definitely taken more than three washes for that to be noticeable.
TRESemme Split Remedy is great I have used it over a 6 month period and have seen a healthier result with my hair.
Tips: Leave conditioner in for as long as possible . I found this increases hair strength.
I was sitting on the couch one night and i was wondering what this divine smell was that was lingering in the air. It didnt take me long to realise that it was the TRESemme Split Remedy Shampoo & Conditioner that was sent for me to review, and just by this first impression i couldnt wait to use it and promptly jumped into the shower to give it a whirl. First off, i have to say the consistency was perfect, not too creamy and not too runny. The consentration of the product was beyond expected from a brand like this, as a little goes along way and these types of brands tend to provide low consentration to make the buyer use more product thus repurchasing sooner. But TRESemmes big bottles and high consentrated formula is proof that this bottle is here to stay for a long time. Only downside to the bottle is not having a pump to provide easy access and prevent any accidents as there is nothing like having a slippery heavy bottle full of product sliding out of your hands! The Shampoo lathers up beautifully instantly showing that the molecules that work inside the formula are well and truly dragging that dirt away leaving your hair completely clean. As for the Conditioner, im a bit sceptical about how this product claims to "repair" split ends, i wouldn't say it repairs, but temorarily bonds to prolong growth until it is cut off. Now for a bit of hairdresser jargon i learnt when i was studying.. For those stating that have weighed down hair I would say is due to the waxiness of the conditioner as conditioner lays down a waxy foundation over your cuticles to flatten them, creating a shine and protecting the hair, using this product over and over again creates multiple layers otherwise known as buildup. Those of you stating to have drying and brittle hair because of this product maybe because of the protein they have put in. Protein treatments are known to temporarily repair and strengthen hair. They do this by filling up gaps in the cuticle and a sufficiently small size can also penetrate to the cortex (inside the hair) Protein products must only be used sparingly as using them too much causes more harm then good. Brittleness and breakage is caused by the imbalance in the hairs elasticity, too much protein causes the hair to become too stong thus becoming too brittle, too much moisture causes hair to become to soft and over stretch making hair lanky. I have used this Conditioner once and I must say that when wet it looked waxy, when combing it it was a breeze compared to other products i use due to my bleached and damaged hair, when dry it look healthy, shiny and maintained and most of all my hair smelt amazing and lasted all day and night! so overall impressed!
Tips: >Alternate between shampoos and conditioners, I recommend if using this product alternating using a deep cleansing and moisturising product range to strip down the build up that is commonly known for in TRESemme and Pantene products >Products containing protein should not be over used and frequency depends on hair’s condition. If your hairs is not overly damaged then use sparingly >If you aren’t sure whether or not your hair has normal elasticity, it’s easy to do a pull test. Try gently stretching a few strands while they are wet. If they stretch and return to their original length, you have good elasticity. If the hair snaps and breaks quickly, your hair has too much protein and you should seek out a moisturising treatment. If the hair just stretches quite far before breaking and never retains it’s shape, your hair needs a protein treatment
I hope this review helps!! ENJOY!
