I was so excited to try this product on my thick coarse hair, straightening daily is essential to tame my locks so I really hoped this product would be good. I liked the look of the bottle, nice size and I thought the pump spray would be good. I know this sounds sad but I actually found the pump handle a bit awkward to use at first but it did get easier. I loved the smell of the product, it is light and fresh. My damp hair was easy to comb through after application however that is probably where the positives end. Once I started drying my hair, my hair started to feel sticky and claggy. My hair felt heavy after drying and had less shine than with my usual products. I persevered for the trial period but today used my usual products to make a comparison. I could see and feel a visible difference, sorry but I won't be continuing to use this spray. However I would still recommend it for others to try because as everyone's hair is different it may well work for others :-)

I am usually really fond of VO5 products...Being someone with very thick hair I rely heavily on my hair straightener. I always use a heat protector to stop my hair becoming dry and split and was really excited to be chosen to try this.
The smell is initially put me off - to me it smells like a mans aftershave, and I can still smell it. I followed the instructions and proceeded to style my hair as usual.
After I had styled my hair, it looked and felt super greasy - the promise to add shine to my hair did just that, only not the type of shine you would want. I also started to get a really itchy and irritated scalp from the product.
I don't think it is something I will be using again, mainly due to the reaction I had from it but also the look of greasy hair just doesn't do it for me.
Tips: Possibly try on dry instead of damp hair
I have a frizz mop unruly colour treated hair!!!! So need to straighten religously I find this product to leave my hair feeling quite oily and heavy. It does smell amazing on the up side. Its not the usual one i would use but is ok if you needed to use something.
Tips: I only use if i know i will be washing my hair same day. Let hair dry before straightening.
First of all always a fan of pink so love the packaging, really liked the lock button on spray to push when wanted to lock the spray. I wash my hair every 3 days so made sure to use my spray by their directions which is to spray generously on towel dried hair before drying or styling. The smell was gorgeous fresh and light. So the product it self promises to deliver frizz free shine and I think it fairly lived up to that, considering it is a supermarket brought item and very affordable I was happy with what it did. I didn't however like the feel after blow drying it had that slightly dense feel that products leave in your hair however upon using it the next day before straightening and on unwashed hair it was awesome, it did give me frizz free hair with a fair not a highly noticeable shine. My hair still felt light and knowing I was using something to protect it while straightening was a big bonus.
Before finding the tresemme heat tamer protective spray i used to use the VO5 heat spray, its alot heavier than the tresemme so i would let me hair sit longer before using hot tools. Its not bad, i would use it again if i needed to.
I've not far from finishing the bottle.
It smells good but why do the majority of VO5's styling/heat protect products smell like a male fragrance? I'd prefer something waaay more feminine. It is refreshing. But too male.
Bottle is a great shape and so is thr trigger, it never clogged on me.
It only takes a few seconds to spritz through.
For heat heat protection it's ok. I would use it if it's all I had left.
For shine factor after straightening. No , there wasn't an increased shine , like some products give.
Frizz free. Yes. I found it produces a slight powdery build up on the hair as well, when you run your fingers through I could feel the product. (perhaps I used too much?
Tips: Light spritz and comb well. prior to heat appliance.
I have used almost a whole bottle of this over the past few weeks and will be trying other products.
I have found it has worked for a short while, making my hair beautiful, sleek and shiny but then a few hours later the frizz is back and the sleekness is gone. Maybe this is because my hair is particulary hard to manage?
However, it does smell super scrummy, is really reasonably priced and is easy to use.
The first time I used this product, I thought it was made specifically for me. My hair is extremely long, curly and unmanageable even on the best of days without straightening. I found this product to have reduced my frizz considerably, it made my hair shiny, and it gives off a light floral scent. However, after multiple uses, I found the product to be less and less effective on my hair. I found that it was lasting less and less throughout the days and nights, no matter how much straightening or product i used. I found the frizz came back after just a few hours, no matter what the weather or situation, it just wasn't as effective as that first use! I'm not sure if its because my unruly hair decided to build up an immunity, but I still recommend it to anyone whose hair is more responsive to these types of products.
I bought this product because I had run out of heat protectant (and although this isn't my usual...I was desperate)
I knew the brand V05 was reliant and a good product for the price. I have quite curly hair which I straighten every day so a good lasting heat protectant is a must!
I am quite happy with this product, it has a nice smell, and it works! The only thing I do not like is how oily it is, you do have to spray it from quite a distance and avoid your roots. Which kind of makes me feel like a lot of product is being wasted each time I spray it.
I would use it again, but it would not be my first choice.
Tips: Don't spray too close to your roots! can be quite oily if too much is used.
I have dry damaged blonde hair. I am going through an intensive moisture reconstructing plan to help my hair grow healthier and stronger. I have naturally curly hair that I like to quickly run a straightener through to make it go wavy.
The bottle was a good size and is lightweight and has a little clip thing so you can travel with it easily. The smell was not pleasant but no overpowering.
I sprayed it through my hair when it was air dry and it seemed to be going everywhere, I let the spray dry and began straightening my hair after when i ran the brush through my hair i found some of my hair was extreamly burnt and i had to cut it off. This is the sixth and last time I have used this spray and its happened three times. It does not protect the hair very well. I have never burnt my hair on a hair straightener before using this product.
Tips: I think I will go back to my Tresseme heat protect spray. I think it's a no go for people with hair like mine.
