The product packaging was nice and discreet and the same size as a mascara so you could pop it in ur hand bag if you wanted to use it on the go. It has a rubber type mascara wand applicator which is good for covering smells areas of greys etc. I found the coverage from the product itself good, it was quick to use but it left this weird brown residue on my scalp which I didn't like. I was so paranoid going out with this in my hair cos of what it would leave on my scalp! I probably wouldn't use it again because of this.

Thanks BR!! This product comes in a cute, aqua green mascara like packaging. The wand seems to be made out of silicon and to be honest, I preferred it over other products traditional mascara like wands; because it doesn't catch/ tangle my hair. The product was a perfect match for my hair colour and applied awesomely with the wand. It does exactly what it's supposed to do and is definitely a product I will keep using and intend to purchase once this one is all gone.
Tips: I like to apply liberally over my grey hair and I use a small hair dye brush to "blend" it in. I also like to keep it in my handbag for quick touch ups if I happen to catch sight of one I missed while out and about.
Thanks so much Beauty review!! I love this product its going to be i always have now as its pretty much the perfect colour and it so so easy to use!! Its like a mascara size wand with two different thicknesses and its more of a silicon wand then a actual brush so i think it makes it alot easier to apply and more evenly as well. It drys very quickly and looks natural. And shampoos out. How easy is that?! I love it I'm going to keep it in my handbag for little touch ups as needed in between hair colours i might actually not need to get my hair coloured as much with this yay winning!!! Ive tried another brand of this sort of touch up thing and im sorry but this one is the bees knees! Hands down recommend this one i may even get a lighter colour for the summer months :)
Tips: Don't put too much on the wand to start off with as it combs through easily.
More and more grey strands have slowly been appearing in my virgin hair over the past couple of years. I was pulling them out but reached the point of my hair obviously thinning and despair. I’m not ready to commit to the costs and upkeep of dying it.
The L’Oreal Paris Magic Retouch Precision Reminded me of hair mascara which was briefly cool (and came free with a Dolly Magazine circa 1998!) but really just clumped your hair together. But the L’Oreal Paris Magic Retouch Precision has a much improved double comb-style wand and consistency (thank goodness!).
It’s a wee bit of admin - your hair needs to be dry before applying as required in front of the mirror and combing through, but definitely does the job, doesn’t smell terrible and has a cute blue mascara-style container which just pops in your make up bag for easy transport.
It wasn’t as precise as I’d envisioned for picking out random strands but you can’t tell if you colour more than are grey - it nicely blended into my hair colour.
Tips: Wait until it’s dry before combing as otherwise you’ll just comb the colour straight back out.
I am sadly no longer a spring chicken and literally from the day I turned 25, I have been finding sneaky greys in my hair. My hairdresser calls them sparkles and tries to convince me to see her every 10 weeks- my wallet likes to stretch it out to more like 12 weeks! So I was very excited to be selected for the L’Oréal Paris Magic Retouch Precision trial. I chose dark brown as I felt it would match my roots best.
The product comes as a mascara wand and is quite slim like. The turquoise colour is quite eye catching - I am pleased it is not black as I would hate to mix it up with my eye mascara!
The formula is easily applied, I just brushed it on wherever I noticed patches of glitter. You need to leave it for approx 5 mins so that it dries and oh my goodness- it covers so well! Definitely hides the grey and blends beautifully with my natural hair.
I decided to trial the product over 3 days so I could see it in natural and artificial lighting and also to see if it would leave me looking like I was melting after a trip to the gym. I couldn’t believe how well it stood up to a sweaty treadmill session !
You can easily remove it but shampooing out and I like the fact you are able to really control exactly where to apply it, thanks to the specially designed wand.
10/10 would purchase and will now be keeping it in my bathroom!
I was excited about this little treasure as i have scattered greys on my dark brown hair and havent been able to get to the salon yet and was intriqued at how this would work.
Upon opening the product i saw the that it was a medium rusty brown with mica (the glittery stuff) all through it, which at first made me quite skeptical as i didnt want my greys sparkling in the midday sun. I was expecting a mascara wand but the wand this product has is flat with spikes on both sides, i found this a bit hard to use and it always got stuck im my hair when trying to use it (could be user error though)
I swiped it on the hair after reading the instructions and noticed you have to use the spiked edges otherwise the product clumps and you end up with a huge brown spot on ya scalp if you are near your hair line. However i could smudge it off with my fingers a bit. It took a lot of product to cover my greys but once finished it did cover them and the colour seemed to match despite the initial colour of the product.
I then had to comb my hair a few times to disperse and let it dry. During the day i had a fee people comment and ask if i ha done my hair again, so it must be working.
Not sure if i would buy this, i may reach for a coloured hair spray and give that a go before i come back to this
Tips: Make time to apply this, its not a quick swipe and you are out the door!
Well this stuff seemed to do what it says it does, covers up Grey's, just wish it lasted longer and those Grey's didn't grow so damn fast lol. It didn't have a strong odor, and did add good coverage, just harder to use around the back area.
Tips: I recommend applying it after your dressed for the day, so it dries and doesn't come off on your clothes, yes I may have had a slight accident .
I have been going grey since i was 14/15 so for me ive had regrowth for 20+ years! having grey hair, the dye just doesn't stay like it used to so i love to try product that will hide my regrowth so i can wait as long as possible in between dye jobs. i was pretty thrilled to get picked for this review. the packet looks pretty small, but the bottle is the same as a mascara. the wand however is slightly different, ive used a couple of other brands like this, and i have to say the L'Oreal wand is my favourite! it has flat edges like tiny combs on each side, not like a mascara wand with tiny spikes all over, that has to be the best feature, putting it threw your hair is more like combing it on and doesn't get caught, which is awesome. now it does feel very wet when you put it on, but once dry you brush it, and i couldn't feel much difference between touched up and not in feel. i think this is perfect for little touch ups
Tips: If you have a lot of regrowth i would recommend getting the matching spray to do the bulk and then this for edges and bits that need a bit extra, otherwise it would be quite time consuming
Product comes in an easy to use tube with a plastic comb like applicator rather than your typical mascara brush. The 8ml tube is convenient to keep in your bags/purse. I received the brown one for trialing. Now the actual product is pretty light and watery in consistency and has a slight chemically smell to it.Easy to apply to the hairline greys to give you a neatened up look. My hair is pretty fine and thin especially near the hairline. It did take a while to dry up (more than 5 mins as suggested on the package) personally I didn’t like the stiff and hardened hair look where this was applied. When combed through my hair I noticed that it did transfer a bit of the product to the comb and even to my fingers when I ran them through hours after I had applied it. However it is easy to wash it off. To be honest my everyday eye mascaras works a lot better in covering my tiny hairline greys. I also prefer the brush applicator to the comb type one on this. Overall the product does do what it says and is easy to use. It just comes down to personal preference really, and this is one of those products that I don’t see myself reaching for.
If anything makes me shudder my way back to the late 90s, it's the words 'hair mascara'. The crispy, poorly coloured streaks we'd inflict on our hair!
Thankfully Magic Retouch Precision is nothing like it's retro counterpart. It applies very slightly, and as the silicone brush glides down your strands it magically covers the grey slithers.
This is perfect for those of us who are just starting to see grey strands and want to cover them. I have balayage hair, so for me, not wanting to colour my roots, this offers a great way easily and quickly mask greys.
Will repurchase and recommend.
