Doesn't get rid of dandruff really, Left my hair dried out to the max, like straw :/ I wish there was a dandruff shampoo that was actually hydration based as well.

Since they changed the formula for it it’s not the same. It actually made my skin worse than before. It’s also become very expensive, it was affordable once. Didn’t work and it made my skin so dry.
The thing I liked most about this shampoo was that it lathered up really well. I don't like shampoos that don't lather, as it makes me feel like they're not cleaning my hair! Unfortunately, that's almost where the positives stopped for me. When rinsing the shampoo out, I found that my hair was left feeling a bit sticky. This was helped by applying conditioner afterwards, but wasn't a great feeling if you only use shampoo on your hair. In terms of how it dealt with dandruff, I only get a little bit of dandruff, but really didn't notice it while using this product. If you're wanting a straight forward shampoo that mainly treats dandruff, this is probably what you're looking for!
I found that this didn't make my scalp any less flaky, but in saying this, my dandruff is not that noticeable. It does have a nice clean scent.
head and shoulders shampoo has a lovely smell and works effectively although left build up on my hair i wouldn’t use again
Head and Shoulders is of course the OG in supermarket brand dandruff control. I’ve always had dandruff, and I know that H&S truly works to ease the irritation and flakiness.
This regime is much the same as all their other products. The active ingredient of pyrithione zinc works well. The smell is fresh and clean. It is affordable.
Personally I only used this on my scalp because it is quite drying on the ends.
Would I use it again? Probably. But if you can afford salon products such as my favourite Matrix Biolage anti-dandruff shampoo, then that will work on the scalp while also being gentle on the hair.
I was excited to receive the Head and Shoulders combo to review as I've struggled over the last few years with a breakout here and there of the dreaded white flakes! Given that I wear a black uniform five or six days a week it's always really noticeable when my scalp is flakey. I like the size of the shampoo and the fact that the shampoo lid faces up while the conditioner faces down makes them nice and easy to distinguish in the shower.
I managed to use the shampoo twice before my review was due and to be honest if I wasn't reviewing it I probably would have waited another day, maybe two before washing again. The shampoo itself startled me on first use, it's much thicker than a traditional shampoo, almost more like a conditioner texture. Having said that, it lathered nicely and was super easy to massage into my scalp. It's a pale blue sort of pearly texture and really does lather up. I was a little concerned that the amount of lather would take a whole to rinse out but it rinsed away quite nicely. I didn't really like the smell, it's subtle but definitely noticeable and I have much nicer smelling options I prefer over this smell! My hair felt slightly tangled after rinsing and I definitely wouldn't skip the conditioner stage. Although tangled my hair felt clean with no noticeable scalp tingling or anything weird to report!
Tips: Use the conditioner!
This product ticks all the boxes but, unfortunately, it wasn't suitable for me due to my use of hair colourant. My hair is blue and I take care to extend my colour as long as I can. So, watching the heavy swirls of blue wash down the drain when rinsing this out was disheartening. But, geez talk about squeaky clean! Straight after rinsing, it felt different. No crunchy, plastic feeling and it penetrated through my hair to the scalp which most shampoo can't do. The smell is non-offensive and if I didn't have to maintain a regime to keep my hair colour consistent, I would use this and will recommend this to any of my itchy, flaky scalp comrades. It works, from the first wash. Great price, Clean scalp, happy hair. You should definitely consider it on your next Supermarket run :)
Tips: Extend your shampoo past the edges of your hair and to your forehead and sides of face and your skin will feel clean and fresh too! Bonus!
Comes in traditional Head and Shoulders vaguely pharmaceutical looking bottle. The smell of this light bluey greeny shampoo is so much nicer than the usual tarry chemical smell of anti dandruff shampoos on the market and it lathers really well. The first time I used it I had a really itchy scalp later that day but I think I may have used to much and not rinsed enough. The second day I used less and no issues. I only got to use this twice before my review.so I haven’t noticed huge reduction in my white specs yet, but I will definitely continue use.
Tips: A little goes a long way folks!
First impressions about the shampoo was the delicious smell! It smells divine, and on squeezing it out of the bottle it was really thick and creamy.
Given the length of my hair I go through a lot of shampoo and conditioner, so how thick the shampoo was meant I didn't have to use as much as I normally would.
The shampoo lathers really well, and my hair did actually feel cleaner than it does with my normal shampoo.
This is sadly where the praise ends though. When I washed the shampoo out, my hair felt like a tangled, clumped together, straw-like mess. I couldn't get my fingers through it to wash the shampoo out properly, so had to rely on just rinsing. Thank goodness for conditioner!
After using it twice I also noticed my hair was itchier than before trialing the product.
Although I'm sure this would be a fantastic product for hair that's not like mine, I'd not purchase it myself.
