I'm surprised at just how well this concealer performs! Creamy concealers tend to sink into my lines (yep old age is catching up to me) but this product blends in beautifully for an almost natural look without emphasizing lines or pores.
It comes in the signature sleek Hourglass packaging in a twist up tube that is almost the same size as the Hourglass Lipstick with both lids off. It took me a few weeks to pick up the right product; what I thought would be the lipstick was the concealer and vice versa.
I use it straight from the tube, it goes on creamy with very good coverage and dries down to a powder finish. To blend it out you can use a synthetic brush but I prefer to use a damp makeup sponge and bounce the product across the area that needs concealing or highlighting. I find with a brush it's a bit harder to move the product to the desired area before it dries but that's just me because my skill level isn't quite up to that standard.
The product sits really well under my liquid foundation; it doesn't move or crease on me so it's definitely a winner in my makeup book. I have the shade TAN which is a smidgen too light, however the next shade up is a smidgen too dark (chocolate club problems) but since I mainly use it underneath my foundation it works out well. I know that in general concealers should be a shade or 2 lighter than your skintone but the problem I have with Hourglass products that I've tried so far is that there's generally a white cast - primer / foundation and now concealer so I can't go any lighter than the shade that I have.
I bought mine from Mecca Cosmetica Newmarket while having a makeup consultation with Hourglass Cosmetics MUA Laura Janes. Price wise I'm not too impressed but this is probably the first concealer that actually "feels"good on my skin. I'm quite stoked with this product and will most likely repurchase.
This concealer is my go to. It doesn't dry out and clump or flake. It just flat out conceals any issues I have. It covers well and brightens around the eye area. My only complaint would be that it does gather a bit in any wrinkles. But it's easy to smooth out again. For that reason it gets a 4/5. Especially for the price.
Tips: A light touch. Only a little bit is needed. Brush, sponge or finger work well.
