Jeffree Star Liquid Lipsticks Review

I usually don't wear very bold bright lip colours, I don't really feel like the school run warrants it usually - but I kept seeing these gorgeous lipsticks appearing on instagram and then began seeing reviews on how wonderful they were, and I started thinking about them, and then when I saw on an online store that there were only 3 Prom night left, before I knew it I'd bought one. When it arrived I fell in love with the box it was packaged in, hot pink, gold stars, gorgeous! Then I opened it and what was inside the box was every bit as wonderful as I'd imagined. I took note of the directions and gave my lips a quick exfoliation, made sure they were dry and began to apply - it was easy to apply without getting it everywhere, which is something I was worried about, having not used a liquid lipstick before, but the formula is just thick enough to give you good control over it. The pigmentation is fantastic, the pink I got really is a gorgeous hot pink and very opaque. Just like it says on the box, it was dry in about 30s, didn't feel drying at all, and was pretty transfer proof from the get-go. The first day I wore it from about 9 am to 11 pm and didn't have to touch it up at all, which is unbelievably impressive in my books!

I purchased this because it looked pretty and the claims of how well the liquid worked was too much to bear but due to it's high demand I had to wait a while to get my hands on the one I have, but it will not be the last. Currently waiting on restocking of colours to add to my collection.

Shade: Red Rum (only one for now!!!)

Packaging wise this is so darn cute!! From the chunky clear acrylic outer casing, to the inner container that is shaped like a lipstick bullet that contains the liquid in the colour of your choice. The bright pink chunky lid that unscrews to reveal an odd little shaped doe foot applicator tip that has a slight slant and flatness to it that is a little hard to explain. And finally the Jeffree Star gold star logos that feature on the lid and outer casing, as well as on the bright pink packaging the lipstick comes in. Its all just screams quality and shows how much love and thought has gone into creating it without sacrificing the quality of the actual product or being too expensive to purchase.

Formula wise this is how liquid lipsticks should be!! the liquid state is perfectly balanced to allow you to get a smooth even coat with one move across the lips, there is no dragging from the liquid drying too quickly, or is there any spills from the liquid being to fluid. The applicator tip, oddly shaped as it is, is perfect to get the angle right for the full lips to the tapered thinner lips, and makes filling in the cupid bow easy, so your application is fast and seamless. Once dried, you need to let it dry onto lips before you close your mouth or you will get flaky bits but it dries really quick. The finish is a touchable matte, eat/drink proof and kiss proof (within reasons you are not going to mark someone's cheek if you peck them, or lips with a soft kiss, but go full on make out and this sucker will move) The finish feels like a latex layer on your lips which isn't to say that is bad it just that you can feel it where you normally wouldn't notice normal lipsticks on your lips, it moves with your lips so it doesn't crack, or fade or smudge off.

Removal is easy at the end of the day, just a wipe of a makeup removing wipe or 2 and its all gone. It isn't very drying on your lips but if you already suffer from chapped lips or dryness there I would pop on some lip balm first, and always exfoliate after wearing and then put on some balm to plump and hydrate again.

I have been a HUGE Jeffree star fan for years, and when he announced he would be releasing his own liquid lipstick range I was beside myself! I purchased 2 from Complexions, they were Redrum and Prom night. A couple weeks later Jeffree Star announced that he was releasing more shades so I timed the date of the release so I could purchase Unicorn blood and Celebrity Skin.

The tubes are short and thick and the ends are bright pink with silver stars, I find these lipsticks easy to find in my mountain of lipsticks and the applicator has a pointy slanted end for hard to reach places, and you can change the application of the brush by tilting your hand slighting to cover more area.

REDRUM: It is the brightest red I have ever seen, the formula is slightly watery but it is overloaded with pigmentation, because of the wateriness of this one I find lining my lips with lip liner first before going in with my liquid lipstick stops it from bleeding. Less is definitely more with this lipstick. For wear time it is very good, no residue when you eat or drink, if you run your lips along something you will get a slight amount of lipstick on there.

PROM NIGHT: This remind me of Barbie pink, it is so bright, and the formula of this one is slightly thicker in texture, you don't have to line your lips prior to using this as it doesn't bleed and the wear time is fantastic. Once its dry you can rub your lips and it is smudge proof.

CELEBRITY SKIN: This peachy nude is a beautiful color, this one I was quite disappointed in because even though the color is amazing, the formula is different. It is very creamy and velvety when you apply it to your lips but very drying. As much as I love this color after a few hours (2 at the most) it is so dry I have to remove it as it starts flaking off. I have tried applying less product or applying more product, prepping my lips with balm and/or powder but it doesn't matter. This color is my absolute favorite and I wear it alot but I cant wear it for very long which is very sad for me.

UNICORN BLOOD: This a dark red color, reminds me of dried blood but in the nicest way. The formula is not too thick and not too thin, and it is very pigmented. This isn't a completely smudge proof lipstick so if I'm going out to dinner or anything I line my lips and take this lipstick with me. Pecking people on the cheek leaves a small amount of lipstick (this has happened a few times) and when you eat the inside of your lipstick wears off. It isnt super noticeable but you know its there.

Overall these liquid lipsticks are incredible and are my most favorite liquid lipsticks to date and I own about 25 liquid lipsticks. Compared to the other liquid lipsticks I own, the formula is much better, the wear time is alot longer, the only thing I am sad about is the dryness of Celebrity skin.

When I saw that these were released on complexion.co.nz I knew I had to purchase the purple shade which is I'm royalty because it looked like lime crime pansy which I don't own so can't do a comparison on colour.

The tubes are very unique as they are short and thick with the ends being bright pinkwith silver stars. This liquid lipstick is easy to find in my drawer which is great if you have quite a large collection like myself.

I personally love this doe foot applicator as it has a pointy slanted end for hard to reach places and it helps to glide the product on in one swipe.

The formula has a thick texture which makes it super opaque. But it applies very evenly and has an am amazingly long wear time. It dries quite quickly also. It doesn't make my lips look awfully dry like some other brands do. When I wore this for the first time I had a few people saying quite a rude remark because this is definitely a Barney purple.

I do absolutely love this but for me it isn't a daytime lip color but does make one neck of a statement for a nighttime look.

Ive been a fan of jefree stars since i was literally 12 years old, so when i found out he was releasing his own cosmetics line i was extremely excited!! I purchased all of mine from beauty bliss who have a great selection and amazing service.

I have 3 shades; Im Royalty , Unicorn Blood and weirdo. Im royalty is a beautiful blue toned purple that is very vibrant. Unicorn Blood is a deep brownish red its a very vampy/sexy colour. Weirdo is a gorgeous pigmented true black shade.

The packaging of this product is amazing! The lipstick comes in a bright pink box with stars on it. Inside is the tube which is a lot thicker than your normal liquid lipstick. The tube is clear so you can see the colour of the product inside and the top is bright pink with stars on it. I especially love the rose gold writing and patterns. They have a doe foot applicator which is very flexible. Making it even easier to apply .

Every shade i have is extremely pigmented,bold and vibrant. For a liquid to matte lipstick these arent as drying as some others ive tried and using a lip balm beforehand they are totally fine. These last amazing well through out the day even through eating or drinking. I've worn one for around 8 hours with no extra applications. The only time it started to wear off was after eating really greasy food. The worst thing i found with other liquid lipsticks ie. Lime Crime is that if it wore off re applying was not an option as the product would start to flake and crack and it was not buildable at all. Thankfully these lipsticks do not have that issue at all! they are easily buildable and never crack/flake.

Jefrees products are all vegan and cruelty free which is an added bonus especially for vegans :) There are so many other beautiful shades ranging from nudes to pink, reds and all the way up to black. I adore these lipsticks and plan on purchasing more in the future. I highly recommend these and i would say they are definitely worth the money

I purchased the shade Unicorn Blood from beautybliss.co.nz. I had fairly high expectations for this product based on the hype and the price ($32), but I was certainly not disappointed!

The shade Unicorn Blood is amazing. It's a very dark, highly pigmented red-brown colour that stands out (in a good way) on my pale skin. It's the perfect shade for autumn/winter so I wear it a lot at the moment. I've been trying for a long time to find a perfect red-brown shade that isn't too transparent, and I've finally found it.

I was worried that this liquid lipstick would dry out my lips, as I've had problems with this in the past. Most matte liquid lipsticks become unbearable to wear after a few hours, as I get very dry lips. But I haven't had this problem with Jeffree Star so far. However you will still need to exfoliate and ensure your lips are moisturised before use.

This product doesn't dry as instantly as some other matte liquid lipsticks. I found this to be ideal, as it gives you a chance to fix any mistakes before it dries.

This lasted well throughout the day even when eating and drinking. I only felt the need to touch it up once, after a rather unhealthy/oily lunch. There were no cracks or flaking at all.

I would definitely recommend this product to anyone, and I can't wait to collect all the other shades!

Wow is all i can say bout Jefree Star and the entire brand and range of these lipsticks.

Mine dried fast and wasn't too runny so application wasn't too bad.

The stay power is what i was impressed with, all day it stayed put, i was very aware of y lipstick so perhaps was kinder to it than most days when i throw on a lip stain and call it a day.

The colours are all vibrant and for blogging i found they photograph beautifully, also eat when out as they most def turn heads in the best of ways.

i have officially got 2 of each colour in the range and have had one for me personally and the others for my professional kit.

These lipsticks are a staple in my collection. I own 4 different shades and they are the same opaqueness, the same consistency and the same level of awe. These lipsticks have revolutionised the liquid to matte lipstick world and I will definitely be buying more shades.

I have the Jeffree Star Liquid Lipstick in the shade Celebrity Skin, and I am obsessed with it!! The formula is perfect - it's thinner than a lot of other liquid lipsticks I've used, and it makes it so much easier to get an even coat on your lips. The colour is very long wearing, I can put it on in the morning and it will survive multiple coffees, cigarettes and snacks, only needing minimal retouching at lunch time. And the colour is beautiful, perfect for everyday wear, not bright or outrageous, but also dark enough that it doesn't look like I have foundation on my (very pale) lips. Can't recommend this enough!

Although I usually try to avoid hype when a product is lauded as 'the next best thing', when I saw JS's shade Abused I decided to purchase it.

Abused is a deep navy - almost black chase, with a hint of grey. It's a super unique colour and unlike anything I have in my collection.malthough I broke my strict no spend to purchase this I haven't regretted it.

This comes in a rad looking blue box with stars on it. The lipstick itself was smaller than what I expected - for some reason it looked rather large in videos I had seen. Either way, the packaging is fun and quirky, with a bright pink lid and a translucent tube that allows you to see the product inside.

The doe foot applicator is slightly different to other brands with liquid lipsticks. It is really soft and feels like it hugs your lips as you apply the lipstick. It feels really nice and allows for perfect application without any mess.

The lipstick itself is super pigmented, opaque and matte. It takes a few minutes to dry. I like that it takes slightly longer than other brands I have used, as this allows you to fix any mistakes. Once dry though, this won't move! It is amazing. This is by far the longest lasting lipstick I have used. I wore this for 11 hours straight and ate and drank, and had to reapply it only once.

One thing I love about this formula is that you can layer it. What I mean is if you need to reapply it then you can just apply it on top of your first layer, the formula doesn't go funny or bunch up like I have had happen with other brands.

Because this is matte it is drying. In saying that, this is one of the more comfortable matte lipsticks I have worn. However, if you don't like dry lips at all then I wouldn't recommend this.

Overall I adore this lipstick. The formula is amazing, the staying power is incredible and the colour is beautiful and unique. The one thing I dislike about this is the price - they are expensive lipsticks. In saying that though, you only need one coat of this per application so I envision this lasting a while.

I'll definitely purchase from this brand again and very much recommend it.
