I have just full head bleached my hair for the second time in 3 years and I was in desperate need for a treatment, my hairdresser recommended this product (shes also a friend so wasn't just trying to make commission). I have noticed a huge difference since using it I have noticed much less hair fall in the shower. It also didn't make my hair feel greasy at the top as I expected it to. I did notice when my hair was dry it felt quite rough and dry but after researching I discovered this is normal when putting protein back in your hair.

Tips: After using for a few weeks add a hydrating treatment or mask. Your hair must have protein to retain moisture so once you have built this back up rehydrating it stops the dry rough feeling.
I enjoyed using this alongside the Kpak shampoo and conditioner. I love how it smells and felt luxurious to use. It left my hair feeling soft and more manageable (sounds cliche I know, but I don't know how else to describe it!).
Tips: I would use this as a 'deep conditioner' every second time I washed my hair.
I have heard a lot about Joico and I went to a salon to have my hair cut and coloured the stylist recommended I use the Deep Penetrating Reconstructor Cream to treat my hair as it tends to be on the dry side. The packaging is simple and elegant. The flip lid makes application in the shower easy and the product is easy enough to squeeze out of the tube. It is easy to apply and has a wonderful fragrance. I left the product in for a good five minutes, combed it through and rinsed it off. It did leave my hair feeling much softer (no longer the straw feel after highlights) and it was certainly softer when it dried. It certainly is more expensive than the supermarket products but then I do believe it is more effective on damaged hair. It is not your normal conditioner though - I would describe it more as a hair mask or treatment, and as such - yes it is effective. Would I use it all the time - no it is too expensive as I had to use quite a substantial amount.
I received a luxury sample of this product and was glad that I hadn't paid for a full-sized item, as I was horribly disappointed. Firstly, I can't stand anything that's artificially banana scented or flavoured (I eat real bananas, but that's where I draw the line) and this product had an artificial banana smell! Ugh, gag!
I squeezed the tube into my palm expecting a conditioner-like cream to come out and instead I got a palm full of clear liquid with "clotted" bits of white cream floating in it. Eeew, gross! I managed to get most of it back into the tube and gave the tube a good shake (there was no mention on the packaging that the tube needed to be shaken well before use). Second attempt and the product came out the tube looking more like conditioner. A fairly thin, creamy white lotion that I could then apply to my hair.
It did leave my hair looking and feeling very soft, but every time I turned my head, I'd get a whiff of the artificial banana scent. Not pleasant at all! Plus, I have very fine, naturally stick straight, oily hair and this product seemed to aggravate it. My hair looked and felt wonderful for the first few hours after washing it, but then looked rather limp and lifeless by the afternoon. I can usually get away with washing my hair every second day (if I wash it daily, it just aggravates the oil production), but with this reconstructor, I had no option but to wash it daily.
I only used it three times (once a week over three weeks) and still had half the tube left, which I ended up throwing away as I wouldn't give it to anyone especially since I wasn't sure if the product was supposed to be 'split' with a clear liquid and lumpy white bits, or if the tube I got was faulty or had gone "off".
I would not purchase a tube of this and definitely wouldn't recommend it.
Tips: If it looks lumpy, shake the tube!
I purchased this product on sale for $15 at the hairdressers and I was looking for a deep conditioning treatment to fix my brittle, freshly bleached locks. The first thing I noticed was the smell, it smells absolutely amazing and I can only describe it as something close to banana pudding.
The product itself is not as thick as I expected, it is slightly runny and does need a bit of a shake before use.
I left the treatment in for 5 minutes and the end result was great. My hair was a lot softer and easier to brush through with slightly less hair breakage. I ended up using this product as my daily conditioner so it did not last very long, maybe 3 weeks. All in all great product that's worth a try.
I received this K-PAK Deep Penetrating Masque for Christmas and wasn't too sure what to expect. I had heard that this was incredible but was still a little dubious.
Needless to say this is my holy grail for hair masques. I use this twice a week and my hair looks and feels unbelievable - fully nourished, moisturised and soft. It leaves my hair looking sleek for days and is so much easier to maintain.
Tips: I always apply after washing (twice) and conditioning, and leave it in for 5-10 minutes. I find leaving it in for a good amount of time allows it to really set in my hair.
This product is amazing if you've got dry unmanageable hair. I switch between this and the moisture one to help my hair handle the weather better. I need more moisture to relieve the frizz and this does a great job.
I'm not a huge fan of the smell but I put it on after shampooing twice with the Kpak shampoo. Then I leave this on for 5 minutes (while I shave my legs/exfoliate my face) and then rinse off. My hair is soft for a few days and then you can do it all again.
I bought this in conjunction with the K Pak shampoo and conditioner after I had gone from black to blonde hair. This product for sure helped bring my hair back to life, it was shiny and soft again which made (at the time) the dreaded heat styling not as much of a hassle. I used it once a week after shampooing, if you are going to use this make sure you skip out on your conditioner as it will be a moisture overload. I would shampoo once then apply a good amount to my mid-lengths down and leave on for 20 minutes then rinse with cool water, rinsing with cool water seals the hair follicles which helps in my opinion keep hair more manageable and I don't have to wash as often. I don't use this product anymore as I find it to be too rich after a gave my hair a much needed waist to shoulder chop, so my hair is much healthier now and doesn't need such a concentrated product.
I have an abundance of deep conditioning masks in my collection, but I picked up the Joico K-Pak Deep Penetrating Reconstructor to strengthen my damaged, blonde hair, rather than coat it in oils. I had heard many people raving about the K-Pak range and it sounded like exactly what my hair needed.
The packaging is simple enough - a plastic gold tube that can sit easily in the shower. This could be cut open to get every last bit of product out. The formula inside wasn't quite what I was expecting. It was runny, and looked like expired yoghurt. The consistency wasn't smooth, even after giving the bottle a good shake. Because the formula is so thin, it does make it difficult to spread through the hair. A large percentage ends up down the drain, and a lot of product is needed to cover the hair. By the time the product is left on the hair for five minutes, most of it has ended up down the drain. The formula has a strong scent, almost like artificial banana. I wouldn't describe this as a 'salon scent.'
After rinsing and blowdrying my hair, I noticed a small difference in the frizziness. It appeared slightly smoother and more manageable, but nothing drastic. This product is designed to strengthen the hair, so I can understand that this may not be particularly noticeable, especially in comparison to a product that just coats the hair with oils. However, I have now come to the end of the product and my hair doesn't appear to have benefitted. I will not be repurchasing this product.
Tips: Squeeze as much water out of the hair as possible before applying. This will help the product to stay in place.
I'm a big fan of buying salon hair products and joico is a brand I've used many times. I don't have much luck with a lot of products I try but joico deep penetrating reconstructor worked really well and has been one of my all time favs! I have extremely coarse, dry, damaged hair and this always left it a lot softer and smoother then usual. The smell is Devine!! Gorgeous stand out packaging. I think the price is fair considering it seemed to do what it said it would.
Tips: I often tried to leave mine in as long as possible and wore a shower cap over top to keep in heat until ready to wash out. This would maximize the result.
