I spotted this in the vault and nabbed it up thinking it would be a great night cream. While I am 31 (so perhaps not yet mature skinned) I figured that my parched forehead and my neck and chest would love the extra hydration, and figured I would use on the rest of my face only occasionally as I can be a little oily in the nose/chin area.
This cream is butter yellow in colour and while is thick, is perhaps less so than other night creams I've used in the past. A little of this goes a long way, and this sinks into your skin a little slower than most (would probably feel fantastic on super dry skin types). The scent is very 'green' but not overbearingly so when on the skin. The ingredients list is incredible- 100% all natural pronounceable products, definitely not something you see everyday.
Unfortunately this was simply too much for my skin, I guess at 31 I really am not ready for products marked for mature skin. I seemed to wake up shiny every time I used this at night. I never breakout on my forehead (which is verging on dry) yet I did when using this product. Its simply a level of hydration my skin doesn't need.
Because of this I would not repurchase, but would imagine this would be better suited to super parched or mature skins. I do think its fantastic that this is a cruelty free product with such a natural ingredient list, it just unfortunately did not sit well with my skin.
I bought this product from the last vault.
It comes in a glass pot with a white plastic lid – easy to access the product and no waste. The container is quite plain and I probably wouldn’t have noticed it or tried it if it hadn’t been in the vault.
On opening the pot, the product is a rather odd mustard yellow colour.
It also has an odd smell. The ingredients include carrot, so this may account, at least in part, to the odd colour, and it has frankincense, rose and neroli, and these may account for the odd scent. It smells like a combination of old fashioned embrocation, mouthwash, and musty wardrobe.
On application the product is delightfully soft and creamy, and absorbs very quickly. It leaves behind a soft, moist feeling on the skin. Once fully absorbed my skin feels plump and soft. The product claim is that it is a rich moisturiser for skin that is dry, damaged, and lacking tone. Well, my skin is dry, damaged and lacking tone, and it is certainly improved by this product, so it does meet it’s claim. It is also made of all natural ingredients and is only tested on humans – I would recommend it just based on those two factors!
Aside from the odd colour and smell, it is a very good product and that it is natural with minimal impact on the environment and animals, I definitely recommend it. Aside from being great for dry skin, I found it non-irritating, so it would probably be good for normal/sensitive skin as well.
Tips: Apply to clean, warm skin – lovely! I also sometimes put it on after a serum and that works very well.
