Kiehl's Calendula Herbal Extract Toner Review

I have never tried this brand before and I don't know if I would if it hadn't been for Santa Shaz! I've never really been a huge fan of toner so wasn't really expecting too much but I decided to give it a whirl and I have been using it both morning and night with fantastic results!

It comes in a plastic bottle with a flip top lid, it smells hmmmm like dead grass lmao but it doesn't linger on your face at all. When I first looked at it I was like ohhhh it has something yucky floating in it but upon further inspection I realised it was the calendula, it does look pretty groddy but you get passed that.

I use a small amount on a cotton pad and pat it all over my face after cleansing. It has no alcohol which is brilliant so I don't get any stinging or dry skin. In fact it does the opposite it makes my skin feel super soft which I have never really got from a toner itself....not to this extent anyway. My skin looks so healthy and my redness is minimized so much.

Another thing I have noticed is I have not had one pimple at all since using this! My skin is so clear it looks so good! I definitely recommend this for anyone struggling with redness or breakouts. It is so good. It is definitely expensive but with the little amount you use and the results I am getting I think it is worth it. Thanks Santa Shaz for getting me on to this!!!

(un)fortunately ive become a mecca hussy and i keep seeing wonderful gift packs and there was a kiehls one (or 2) and i lOVE kiehls and havent had them in ages. so. naturally. bought 2 haha.

this toner is... wow. its literally liquid gold. i love the calendula floating in the bottle, it makes everything feel so extra and boujee - just make sure to wash the flowers out! not sure the recycling plant would appreciate the "dirty" bottle haha.

glide on easily on the skin (ive also had success with it in a spray bottle!) and absorbs so easily. doesnt even feel like ive used a toner. my skin feels nourished and clean and soft and healthy. its bizarre!

its for oily skin but im having great success using it on my dry/fussy witch skin so hey. i still get the occasional hormonal breakout but ive noticed in general that my skin tone does perk up after using this - i cant blame it all on this though, as i do use other products that are meant to make me look better haha. but yeah, overall, great toner, would definitely buy it again!

I am a long-time Kiehl's fan and I used this product back when my skin's barrier was extremely damaged from going too heavy on serums, peels and AHAs/BHAs. It's a great calming toner which probably was the only thing holding my skin together when I was abusing it with harsh cleansers, toners and spot treatments.

This toner has got to be the freshest and most luxurious toner I've tried yet. The formula itself is wonderful - super natural, really hydrating, and doesn't leave a film on the skin - but it's those Calendula petals in there that really push this one over the top! I was a little surprised when one popped out onto my cotton round when using this for the first time, however I went about using the product as normal anyway, and found that it broke down and combined with the product really well, and wasn't slimy or anything like I was initially concerned about. After a week or so of using this product, I found that my skin seemed much more hydrated compared to a traditional toner I was using before. I absolutely love this product, and will definitely be repurchasing!

I was genuinely excited to try this Kiehl's toner. I've never tried a toner formulated with whole flowers! (there's actually petals in the bottle!)

I already use a toner on a daily basis to prep my skin in the morning so to swap my usual out for this one was no drama. The scent is definitely 'herby', but only slightly noticeable and disappears within seconds. It's easy to use, just squirt a little on a cotton pad and swipe over your face.

My skin just wasn't wowed by it though. I began with using it morning and night, but soon found it was 'too' much on top of my nighttime routine(serums, moisturiser, eyecream etc) Adding in this type of toner into my evening routine was too much for my skin. Although it's advertised towards normal to oily skin (like mine) I think it would work just as well(or better) for those with dry skin. The packaging states that it would 'gently cleanse' my skin, I didn't feel like it did anything of the sort! It left a thin film over my skin that made me feel like I needed to wash my face. Not quite what I'd like in a 'cleansing toner'.

So, I imagine for drier skin types this could be a go-er though, especially with it's soothing properties.

My experience on the Kiehl's trial team has really surprised me. Such simple staple products in any beauty regime and yet they pack in the wow factor!

Like a toner. A simple, balancing toner. HOW can it be anything more than, 'yeah, nice to use'? I don't know, but this one is - its a blooming joy to use every day!

It smells herb-ilicious, fresh, herby, earthy, natural.

It leaves skin feeling refreshed and cool, not stripped in the slightest.

I've been using this on a cotton pad to freshen up through the day when my skin gets a bit hot and oil-slicky (attractive...I know!)

I haven’t been a big user of skin toner over the years, so was keen to try out this herbal-extract toner. Out of interest I googled the Calendula herb, which amongst other things said it was a powerful healing agent of the skin and is considered to be the single most useful herb for healing damaged or broken skin - so that was a good start ! I used this toner as the first part of my twice daily skincare regime after cleansing my face, I didn’t apply with the recommended cotton pad but just dripped it directly onto my face and gently patted it in. It absorbed quickly leaving my face feeling refreshed, cool and alive. It is interesting to see the generous amount of herbs floating in the bottle and knowing that they are working for you. I have enjoyed using this toner and will certainly add it to my skin-care regime now that I understand better what it achieves.

This toner is extremely gentle yet so effective. It almost smells like a herbal tea of some sort. You can definitely tell is natural. It contains a plant like substance within the bottle of toner. I love natural products so this gets a huge tick from me. It’s incredible how you can remove your makeup but this toner will cleanse the skin even more and remove any bits of makeup that was still there. I have noticed a huge improvement in my skins appearance already. It’s more hydrated, my pores appear smaller and my son is clearer and fresher but not stripped of its natural oil. This is the best toner I have ever used without a doubt.

My first impressions of this product was that I was a bit put off with the flowers in the toner and sure enough first use bits of flower came out. However that was short lived. I love using this toner straight after cleaning my face in the shower as it is so soothing. I find only a small squirt of product into a cottonball is plenty to do my face, and I'm not bothered by any natural flowers that come with they tend to stick to the cotton ball. It smells very similar to a weak green tea but it's not a fragrance that hangs around for long. I find that, maybe due to it being alcohol free, it takes a little longer to soak in but I'm happy waiting the little bit extra. The product comes in an 125ml clear bottle which, I believe, would be sufficient for at least 3-4 months. It has very plan white and black labeling which makes it blend in to your bathroom surrounds. The toner is created for normal to oily skin and, having an oily t zone, I have noticed a definite reduction in oil whilst I have been using this. Overall I would highly recommend this for anyone after a soothing toner or wanting to reduce an oily t zone. I love this product and can definitely see myself replacing it once it finishes.
