Kiehl's Calendula Herbal Extract Toner Review

My poor skin is exposed to the sun, wind and pollution on a regular basis as I am a long distance runner. I was very excited to chosen for this trial as I knew the calendula is very soothing and anti inflammatory. The toner comes in a bottle and the liquid is a pale yellow colour. I love the fact there are calendula flowers floating in it! I used the toner morning and night for two weeks and applied after cleaning my skin. I used cotton pads to gently swipe my skin before applying my moisturiser. My favourite thing about this toner is that fact it does not contain alcohol. It is super gentle while still effectively removing any extra cleaner or stubborn grime. After two weeks of use I have noticed my skin is less red and blotchy and feels lovely and smooth .

Absolutely love this toner! Iv tired many over the time and this toner I highly rate. The bottle is nice and simple and easy to use. It has a nice natural scent and actually does have the odd extracts in the toner.

Iv had issues with some toners making me go very red or sting once applied, but none of these issues with the herbal extract toner.

Definitely would recommend

This toner does everything it says on the bottle, it reduces inflammation, refreshes my skin, preps my skin for serum and moisturizer, and has no nasties. I love the real ingredients and that it is made by a trusted brand. I am very slack at having toner in my routine but am glad I have added this one in. I will definitely keep using it.

I have not used a toner since I was about 13 and I have memories of them being extremely drying. Well this was the total opposite. It made my skin feel incredibly clean, and soft at the same time. It was not drying, and just glided on to the skin. I think toner may re enter my skincare routine moving forward!

I have never tried this brand before and I don't know if I would if it hadn't been for Santa Shaz! I've never really been a huge fan of toner so wasn't really expecting too much but I decided to give it a whirl and I have been using it both morning and night with fantastic results!

It comes in a plastic bottle with a flip top lid, it smells hmmmm like dead grass lmao but it doesn't linger on your face at all. When I first looked at it I was like ohhhh it has something yucky floating in it but upon further inspection I realised it was the calendula, it does look pretty groddy but you get passed that.

I use a small amount on a cotton pad and pat it all over my face after cleansing. It has no alcohol which is brilliant so I don't get any stinging or dry skin. In fact it does the opposite it makes my skin feel super soft which I have never really got from a toner itself....not to this extent anyway. My skin looks so healthy and my redness is minimized so much.

Another thing I have noticed is I have not had one pimple at all since using this! My skin is so clear it looks so good! I definitely recommend this for anyone struggling with redness or breakouts. It is so good. It is definitely expensive but with the little amount you use and the results I am getting I think it is worth it. Thanks Santa Shaz for getting me on to this!!!

(un)fortunately ive become a mecca hussy and i keep seeing wonderful gift packs and there was a kiehls one (or 2) and i lOVE kiehls and havent had them in ages. so. naturally. bought 2 haha.

this toner is... wow. its literally liquid gold. i love the calendula floating in the bottle, it makes everything feel so extra and boujee - just make sure to wash the flowers out! not sure the recycling plant would appreciate the "dirty" bottle haha.

glide on easily on the skin (ive also had success with it in a spray bottle!) and absorbs so easily. doesnt even feel like ive used a toner. my skin feels nourished and clean and soft and healthy. its bizarre!

its for oily skin but im having great success using it on my dry/fussy witch skin so hey. i still get the occasional hormonal breakout but ive noticed in general that my skin tone does perk up after using this - i cant blame it all on this though, as i do use other products that are meant to make me look better haha. but yeah, overall, great toner, would definitely buy it again!

I haven’t been a big user of skin toner over the years, so was keen to try out this herbal-extract toner. Out of interest I googled the Calendula herb, which amongst other things said it was a powerful healing agent of the skin and is considered to be the single most useful herb for healing damaged or broken skin - so that was a good start ! I used this toner as the first part of my twice daily skincare regime after cleansing my face, I didn’t apply with the recommended cotton pad but just dripped it directly onto my face and gently patted it in. It absorbed quickly leaving my face feeling refreshed, cool and alive. It is interesting to see the generous amount of herbs floating in the bottle and knowing that they are working for you. I have enjoyed using this toner and will certainly add it to my skin-care regime now that I understand better what it achieves.

My first impressions of this product was that I was a bit put off with the flowers in the toner and sure enough first use bits of flower came out. However that was short lived. I love using this toner straight after cleaning my face in the shower as it is so soothing. I find only a small squirt of product into a cottonball is plenty to do my face, and I'm not bothered by any natural flowers that come with they tend to stick to the cotton ball. It smells very similar to a weak green tea but it's not a fragrance that hangs around for long. I find that, maybe due to it being alcohol free, it takes a little longer to soak in but I'm happy waiting the little bit extra. The product comes in an 125ml clear bottle which, I believe, would be sufficient for at least 3-4 months. It has very plan white and black labeling which makes it blend in to your bathroom surrounds. The toner is created for normal to oily skin and, having an oily t zone, I have noticed a definite reduction in oil whilst I have been using this. Overall I would highly recommend this for anyone after a soothing toner or wanting to reduce an oily t zone. I love this product and can definitely see myself replacing it once it finishes.

I must admit I don’t usually tone. I have a bit of combination skin that’s quite sensitive so usually find it too drying in patches and also the alcohol dries it even more, stings or it is just off putting to think about having alcohol in there. But this was alcohol free so that was a bonus!

It’s quite a pretty bottle with its yellow tinge and floral floaties. Quite the show piece for any bathroom really.

Next thing I noticed was the smell - it personally reminds me of lemon tea kind of so very refreshing.

It’s so gentle and mild on the skin and I didn’t find it drying at all! In fact it freshened up my skin nicely.

I used a wipe and toned after cleansing. It actually removed a little more makeup and dirt from my skin that cleansing alone didn’t which was nice but also revealing.

It refreshed my skin and gave a nice clean cool feeling. No drying or tightening like say Cliniques has done to my skin in the past.

I would love to reuse but must admit it’s usually a step I skip and I hate using disposable wipes. My skin is in great condition at the moment though.. these products have been so gentle yet have had a huge impact on my skin - it’s really in amazing condition that I feel I can wear no makeup so I perhaps shouldn’t be so lazy and keep it up!!
