The first couple of days I wore this blended over my whole face. Its definitley full coverage (a plus for me) and VERY mattifying. It was also long wearing and didnt rub off too much under my mask that I wear at the office. I thought my skin looked very 'tired' and dehydrated by the end of the day. So, on the third day, I applied it with the sponge dampened and it was a better result...smooth skin, no cakeyness...a consistency that better suited my skin.

Tips: Experiment with different ways of applying..the dry sponge, the damp sponge, and a powder brush as well. Find the best method to suit your lifestyle and skin needs.
I have been on the hunt for a high quality, easy accessible and affordable powder for quite sometime. I think I have finally found it in this product.
This definitely gives medium to full coverage without the heaviness and cakiness (is that even a word).
This powder is long wearing and you won’t find yourself needing touch ups throughout the day.
I love that whilst wearing this your skin still feels like skin and looks smooth.
I find you get a heavier application with the sponge so if you’re wanting a lighter application I’d suggest using a powder brush.
The compact isn’t bulky so fits nicely into the makeup bag or handbag. Excellent to travel with.
I didn’t find there to be any scent in the powder which was great and this did not cause any breakouts.
All in all this is a great product and compares well with my other high end powder foundations.
Tips: Don’t trust the shades online as this can be way off
The biggest plus for this product is it's a quick one step process. It's quick to apply and blends really well. The short fall for me though was that when applied this way the finished result was quite powder heavy, especially around the nose area and eye creases. This was amplified however by the shade being a touch too pale and I did find once applying a touch of bronzer by brush over the top it seemed to settle somewhat. I found it did wear well and improved with time as natural oils blended with it, however did need to touch up the nose and chin area later in the day. For me I found this product better applied using a brush over a liquid foundation base. Gave a great finish (especially around the cheeks/forehead). When applied this way there is some waste as the powder tends to lift quite easily so you end up with some falling off the palette, however at this price point it still seems good value for money. The palette itself, I'm not a fan of the mirror being in a lower compartment as difficult to use when applying however the plus with the design is the mirror stayed clean.
Tips: Play! Find the way it works for you (for me it was with a brush).
I was super excited to try this powder foundation but unfortunately I found it didn’t last very long on my skin. Perhaps a powder foundation is just not for me as I am normally a liquid foundation wearer. The coverage when I first put it on was good and I loved the feel of it on my skin. It did seem to disappear from my high colour areas of my cheeks and nose within a couple of hours leaving a slightly blotchy finish. I will keep using it though as it may be me learning to apply it in a slightly different way
Tips: I think a primer would help to keep it in place
Beautiful packaging, good quality presentation. Shade wasn't exactly suitable for my skin colour as the shade I requested was out of stock. Glides on easily and relatively good coverage. Does need to be built up though to cover properly. Tends to sit in smaller wrinkles and fine lines leaving it more visable. Did last all day which was great.
The first time I used it (using the sponge that's included in the packaging), the powder crumbled and left a mess on my sink. Then I made a mistake of carrying it in my handbag, thinking it would be safer than carrying a liquid foundation. I was wrong. Powder crumbs everywhere! I tried doing touch up in the car, crumbs extravaganza again. Then the next time I used it, the whole "cake" of powder literally dislodged out of the packaging! I managed to catch it and stuck it back in. Every single time I used it, it crumbled more. By now you should know that the faulty/badly designed packaging isn't my favourite part of this foundation. Messier than using a liquid foundation. I tried using isopropyl alcohol to fix it, but unfortunately it isn't fixable.
Does it fulfill the claims though?
- Covers and lasts like a liquid foundation: actually yes, it does. A single swipe covers a multitude of uneven skin. A gentle swipe has given enough coverage for my panda eyes. Unfortunately it refused to work long on my T-zone.
- Mattifies with no cakeyness: mostly yes to mattifying, but it turned mottled pretty quickly on my T-zone when applied using the sponge. Makes my skin looks like tree barks. It doesn't like the moisturiser/toner/both that I used. Grabbed anything and everything that I used on my face. The powder produced better results when used with a powder brush. Either way, T-zone gets shiny after much less than 2 hours.
- Sweat-proof: no idea as my face didn't normally get sweaty.
- Heat & humidity proof: not for T-zone.
- Full coverage: again, not for my T-zone.
I'm a bit sad, as the shade 130 True Beige is perfect for me. I also like the look of the packaging and the cute mirror in it. But it's way too much efforts for me to apply it, much longer than applying a liquid foundation. A great idea, if only they could make a formula that's more portable and less crumbly!
This may be great for younger more unlined skin. It sat in my creases. So for me this was a no. I tend to stay away from powders,if that reason. I won't be repurchasing.
Sold as a foundation in the form of a powder, L'Oréal Infallible 24 fresh wear foundation powder comes as a cute purse size all in 1 compact, so handy for day to day use.
But this means a teeny tiny sponge for application. I am more of speed makeup applier, so appreciate a larger sponge which I currently use with a liquid foundation, followed by a dusting powder to set.
I found a damp sponge application didn't glide as well as I hoped. Possibly a primer would help? I didn't try this, as I don't have such a product.......I wonder if this might make for an oiler base that would affect the longevity of the Foundation? I found the damp sponge application caused a streak of coverage and I had to use my big bristled brush to blend it out again.
Dry sponge application gave better controller but lighter coverage which seems to accentuate my open pores around the nose area.
I think continuing with my current liquid foundation gives me the right coverage and control.
The product is a very fine powder....light as a feather. I think going forward I would use this compact, I received to review, as a setting powder on a fluffy brush over liquid foundation. I won't be purchasing L'Oréal Infallible 24 fresh wear foundation powder .......the whole process was just not quick enough for me.
And the matte-ness created the effect of a monotone mask, over which I would need to apply blush, contour etc etc to make me look alive again! I'm more of a quick make-up type gal. I see a younger lady, with greater make-up application skill, using this product to best effect.
It was a struggle to find the right shade for me.130 true beige was my best guess for the trial, but was actually much paler then it appeared on screen. It seems differcult to find a more rosey coloured base...most seem orangey.
In these Covid times, I need to wear a mask most of the day. There definitely was transfer to the edges and cross the nose of the mask. This could mean potential for a touch up during the day.....made easy with a compact size pack, but definitely not all-day wear in my books.
Over this week of trialling, the weather was cooler, and I had no problem with the foundation melting.
Tips: Select your our shade instore for best match
I had high hopes for this foundation but unfortunately it was a fit for me. I found it extremely hard to blend and very drying. I tried using a hydrating primer but even with that it was quite cakey. It did work slightly better with a good blending brush instead of the sponge it comes with and I tried it using a large brush as more of a setting powder which kind of works. This foundation was not the right fit for me but the packaging was very appealing and the product itself looks and feels well made. I will keep trying other ways to make it work for me.
Tips: Use a blending brush as apposed to the spine it comes with.
Thank you for the opportunity to trial this. I found it provided full coverage and was sweat, heat and humidity proof as stated. I work as a casual cook so definitely put it to the test (not to mention hot flashes due to menopause!!) When I removed it at night prior to going to bed there was still a lot of product on my face so I think it would be there the 24hrs if needed. I liked the fact it was quicker to apply than normal liquid foundation and is excellent for touching up during the day if needed. The colour I selected was a good match for my skin. The only negative thing I found was that it did emphasize my under eye lines/wrinkles a little more than an actual liquid foundation does. Overall though, I would definitely purchase this again.
Tips: I found this applied with a nice finish using a makeup brush instead of the sponge included. Also upon visiting the Loreal Paris website, it states "If using in place of liquid foundation, sponge can be used wet, creating a cream-like consistency to smooth over skin" which I wasn't aware of as it doesn't state this on the packaging.
